EMILY F.
Emily has a Ph.D. in the Humanities and Social Sciences graduating from the Program in Social and Political Thought at York University. She has been teaching at the university level for over 30 years working closely with students to help them realize their academic potential through interactive and engaging methods of delivery. She has taught at the University of Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University and Laurentian University.
Emily enjoys in-person tutoring and has experience with online support where necessary. She can work with students on homework assignments, test preparation, and exam review while providing frequent monitoring and feedback to both students and parents. With a B.A. in the performing arts as well as a professional background in film writing and production Emily is able to use creative and experiential teaching strategies in conjunction with technology.
Emily believes and takes pleasure in tailoring her teaching approach to the unique needs and learning styles of each student. She is able to work with visual, auditory or other approaches according to the student’s strengths. She assesses student challenges precisely and comprehensively and, in keeping with student goals, is able to develop personalized lesson plans that promote a deep understanding of the subject matter.

KARINA G.
Karina is a lifelong student of the sciences, driven by an insatiable curiosity and awe of the world around us. Karina holds a BA degree in Physics and a BA degree in Science Education from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. She taught Mathematics, Science, and Physics in several middle and high schools such as Leo Baeck Educational Center in Haifa and Igal Alon High School in Eilat.
Karina worked as a Program Coordinator at the Family Resource Center and as a Parenting Skills Coach at JF&CS Toronto and York Region. Karina also volunteered in Public and High Schools, and got a volunteers award for her work at school.
Karina acquired in depth knowledge of the Ontario curriculum through Additional Qualification Courses and through private and small group tutoring over the past 16 years. She considers it a privilege to have many opportunities to guide learners of all ages and backgrounds, from those struggling with fear and frustration, to budding scientists brimming with curiosity. It has been her life’s work to help each and every student overcome obstacles, build unshakable confidence, and become independent, successful learners.
Karina is endlessly fascinated by the world we live in, and nothing brings her greater joy than igniting that same sense of wonder and excitement in others through mathematics, physics, and science.

Cindi has a Bachelors of Education from McGill University. After graduating, she worked at a private school in Mississauga. While working at the school, she started tutoring students who were having difficulty in the advanced classes and those trying to get into the school. Quickly, Cindi discovered that tutoring was her calling. For over twenty-five years, she has been tutoring and has never looked back. Cindy enjoys watching the success and growth of each of her students and all children have the ability to reach their full potential with the proper teaching. She has worked with children of all ages and learning abilities. Her learning instructions and methods are targeted to the unique needs and learning styles of each student. She really enjoys watching the success and growth of her students. In her spare time, She enjoys doing diamond painting puzzles, reading, hiking, and spending time with her son. MICHELLE P.
Michelle is a dedicated educator with a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts from York University, earned through the Concurrent Program. As an Ontario Certified Teacher, she specializes in the Primary/Junior Division and has taught grades K-6 across both public and private schools. Michelle is pursuing French certifications at the University of Toronto, with plans to attain FSL additional qualifications in the coming year.
Through her teaching experiences, Michelle has developed a keen ability to facilitate dynamic classroom environments and adapt her methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. She employs a range of strategies to engage students effectively, recognizing that each child learns differently and tailoring her approach to meet individual needs. Her belief in the potential of every student fuels her teaching approach, which prioritizes instilling confidence, promoting hard work, and cultivating perseverance.

JORDAN A.
Jordan is a Toronto-based educator who specializes in helping students with essay writing, from the earliest stages of outlining to polishing and proofreading. He has six years of experience as a university instructor, teaching courses as varied as research and writing methods, film and TV history, and business writing. A recent Ph.D. graduate of English (media and cinema studies focus) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Jordan’s academic research focuses on cultural representations of Jewish identity. As a tutor, Jordan has collaborated with and learned from middle-school, high-school, and college/university students. He is devoted to guiding learners as they find meaningful strategies for reading, researching, writing, editing, and communicating. One key to clear, precise, persuasive writing is confidence; Jordan enjoys working with students to cultivate an authorial voice to ensure their creative and academic work can flourish.
Beyond the classroom, Jordan is a passionate cinephile. He has worked as an arts/culture reporter for numerous Canadian and international outlets. Jordan has also contributed as a writer and editor to several arts-oriented academic journals.
Joanne M.
Joanne holds an M.S.Ed. in Foreign Language Acquisition from the University of Kansas and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. She is certified to teach general subjects through Grade 8 and English and French through Grade 12. Joanne transitioned to education 19 years ago after a career in tech sales and marketing, discovering her passion for teaching while tutoring at Ivey Business School. She received an award in her first year of teaching for her work with special needs students, which inspired her to pursue further education. Joanne has since taught ESL in North Carolina and returned to Toronto in 2012. She is a warm, patient teacher with high expectations, dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
JUDITH F.
Judith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Language and Psychology. She also holds an Early Childhood Education Diploma, as well as an Advanced Early Childhood Education Diploma. She has over 20 years of teaching experience at a Co-Ed Independent School, a Boys’ Independent School and a Montessori School. In addition to teaching math, literacy, social and social science from JK-Grade 6, Judith also has expensive experience working with students and families to prepare for the admission process at independent schools.
Judith is passionate about teaching, mentoring and guiding her students to work to their potential and to be life long learners. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, swimming, walking, cooking and baking, travelling, as well as spending time with friends.
Phillipa G.
With two decades of dedicated service in education, Phillipa brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the classroom. Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Humanities and a Bachelor of Education in Primary/Junior Divisions from York University, Phillipa has continuously expanded her knowledge through additional qualifications, including Special Education, Mathematics, Reading and Student Assessment and Evaluation.
Throughout her career, Phillipa has held roles in various educational settings, focusing on special education and inclusive learning environments. Recent positions include Special Education Resource Teacher, where she orchestrated targeted reading interventions and crafted engaging curriculum-aligned activities for students on the Autism spectrum. As a Primary Teacher, Phillipa excelled in adapting lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs, culminating in successful community-building initiatives such as holiday concerts and outdoor activity days.
For a number of years Phillipa worked as a Grade 1-8 Classroom and Arts teacher, emphasizing comprehensive student assessment and fostering positive learning outcomes through collaborative engagement with colleagues, parents, and administrators. Her commitment to educational excellence is further underscored by ongoing professional development, including certifications in First Nations, Métis and Inuit Studies and ABA for Educators.
Phillipa’s passion for education extends beyond the classroom, evident in her establishment of impactful extracurricular programs and community engagement sessions throughout her career.
Joshua M.
Joshua is a computer engineering graduate from Queen’s University. During his high school years, he dedicated a significant amount of time to tutoring math for students in grades 6 through 9. This early experience allowed him to build a strong foundation in teaching complex mathematical concepts and helping younger students develop their skills and confidence in the subject. His expertise extends to advanced areas, including functions, advanced functions, data management, and calculus and vectors. This solid foundation in math education continued into his university years, where he further developed his teaching skills as a teaching assistant in Object Oriented Programming and Engineering Design Principles. His strong expertise in math and programming, combined with his commitment to student success, make him a highly capable and dedicated educator.
Zo F.
Zo is a student at the University of Toronto, completing their third year of undergrad pursuing English, Psychology and creative writing studies. In past positions, they’ve tutored ESL students, and students with higher educational support needs, in both intermediate math and English. Additionally, Zo has experience editing and writing for professional productions, medical papers, in addition to simply editing fellow English majors’ work. In highschool Zo attended William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate institute for their enriched math and English program. Overall, Zo wants to make sure your child’s education is not daunting and patiently lead them through their work so they are fully able to understand their curriculum and apply knowledge beyond school. Zo understands how difficult comprehension can be and will diligently tailor the way they teach to the student’s needs.
