Raemyn majored in Educational Studies and graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Education degree. Alessia is a dedicated Ontario Certified Teacher with a deep passion for fostering children’s growth and learning. Raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Alessia pursued her academic journey with a strong focus on early childhood education. Alfiya is an Ontario Certified Teacher with over 8 years of teaching experience both overseas and in Canada. She graduated at the University of Toronto in Neuroscience and Psychology, which equipped her with a unique understanding of cognition and motivation.

Anna is a professional teacher / tutor with more than 20 years of successful experience of teaching children from kindergarten to undergraduate level. She holds B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Chemistry. Anna tutors Chemistry Grade 11 – 12 (including IB and AP), Biology Grade 11, as well as Chemistry university and college courses. Ashlei S. is a graduate of the Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto, and she specializes in teaching English and visual art. From a young age, she was an avid reader and frequent creative writer. Ashlei discovered her love of teaching when she began volunteering as a summer camp counsellor, and afterwards, decided to work with students as much as possible. While earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts at York University, she earned several awards in essay writing and for her academic standing. Caterina is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) and is qualified to teach Elementary students from KG to Grade 6. Prior to completing her Bachelor of Education at York University, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Children’s & Youth Studies at York. Caterina discovered her passion for education during her 4 years as an Early Childhood Assistant and then decided to pursue a teaching career. Caterina is currently a supply teacher with the school board as well as pursuing additional qualifications in the Intermediate Division, focusing on Social Sciences and Drama. Caterina has experience working with students who have exceptionalities during her years as a Special Needs Camp Counselor – she can tailor her teaching style to their individual learning needs and understands the challenges & opportunities they face.

Cindy is an Ontario Certified Teacher and experienced tutor. Welcome, families! My name is Francesca and I am a dedicated K-6 tutor with a deep passion for education and its impact on young minds. I am currently pursuing a teaching degree at Lakehead University and hold a degree in Sociology and Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. Gary graduated from York University with an Honours Degree in Mathematics, and from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (University of Toronto) with a Bachelor of Education. Gerrod Harris has been teaching in a wide variety of classrooms and learning environments for the last seven years. While teaching music both privately and in community centers throughout Markham, Gerrod received his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Education at York University. Certified to teach music and history at the intermediate and senior levels, Gerrod has experience teaching a range of history courses along with English, civics, business, and senior level social studies. Since graduating in 2017, Gerrod has continued extensively teaching music, while also volunteering and working in high schools throughout the YRDSB; joining the Prep Academy Tutors team is his latest step forward into a well steeped career in education.

Meet Jenn! She has an undergrad degree in Business Management with a focus on Stats & French and is currently a teacher candidate at Lakehead University completing her Bachelor of Education. Jenn has worked with elementary students, covers all elementary subjects, and is very strong in Math & French. She has tutored students in Math & French to G12 and is very familiar with the Ontario curriculum. Through her teaching placements with the school board & her experience working at the YMCA, Jenn has developed skills in classroom management & varying teaching techniques. Jenn has a great rapport with her students and adapts her teaching style to all kinds of learners.

Jesper is a graduate of the University of British Columbia where he obtained a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology. He is proficient in biology, chemistry & mathematics at high school & university levels and has tutored students and peers from Grades 9-12. Jesper is passionate about education and helping others understand the curriculum material and succeed in their studies. Johnson moved from China to Canada in 2019 and can communicate in Mandarin and English. His educational journey was unique: from middle school in China to high school in Canada, from a public school to a boarding community, he is now studying life sciences at McGill University. His passion for teaching sprung out of leading his physics class when the teacher was away. He enjoyed delivering knowledge and seeing the smiles on the students’ faces. Ever since that day, he can often be found in the library or common room helping people out with math and science questions.
Johnson has also worked in a summer camp, instructing canoeing and camping skills. During his previous tutoring experiences, he has worked extensively with students from grades 9-12, teaching high school math and science. He passionately believes in the value of confidence and encouragement, and he loves having casual conversations with his students outside of class. As a result, he often becomes close friends with students, although his age may be the main contributing factor. Jonathan is an Ontario certified high school teacher with over 5 years of teaching/tutoring experience. He completed his undergraduate degree in math and economics at Queen’s University, followed shortly by his Bachelor of Education. Currently, he is completing his Master of Professional Education at Western University, where he is specializing in the field of mathematics education. As part of his education, Jonathan has traveled across Europe, teaching at different schools to understand the differences between educational systems. Since discovering his passion for teaching in high school, he has explored many different areas of education but always comes back to teaching his main passion, math. Jonathan is an energetic and engaging teacher who prioritizes a strong student-teacher connection to meet the unique needs of each student. In his spare time, he enjoys working out and playing a variety of board games, with his favourite being chess. He hopes to show you how to enjoy learning math as much as he loves to teach math!

Kabilan is a dedicated teacher candidate from the University of Toronto, nearing the completion of his Master of Teaching program. With a strong commitment to fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments, Kabilan prioritizes differentiating his teaching to align with each student’s preferred learning style. He believes in ensuring that all students not only grasp the content but also deeply understand the learning process, empowering them to develop confidence and skills that extend beyond the classroom. Kathir Brabaharan has a PhD in Chemistry and has been an educator for more than thirty years. He retired as a Curriculum Leader for Mathematics from Sir John A. Macdonald C.I. and went to China for few years as a Mathematics/Physics teacher. Kathir won the Descartes Medal in 2009 for promoting Mathematics across Ontario. He is truly passionate about teaching and learning mathematics and problem solving.

Kelly Johnson is a certified teacher who has been teaching in Ontario for over 20 years. If you are looking for an expert in her field, with a special knack for making connections and working with children to develop a positive mindset toward learning and improvement, Kelly is the tutor for your child. A true professional, Kelly is a lifelong learner. She understands that learning can present challenges, but there is always a path for growth when you have the right help. Kelly has earned Part 1 of Special Education and her Guidance Specialist. She is currently working on earning her Teacher Librarian additional qualification. Mandy is an experienced Math teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, Honours degree. She is very passionate about Math and instilling a love of math in her students. Mandy has taught every level of high school math and is extremely familiar with the Ontario Math curriculum as she is involved in editing & publishing math textbooks for a well know publishing company. Mandy has helped students prepare for math competitions from G7 and above and she offers prep sessions for SAT Math – her students have achieved excellent results. Marcus is an educator who believes that passion fuels academic success. Marcus grew up in Markham, where he was homeschooled throughout his primary and junior years. Throughout his intermediate, senior and post-secondary experiences, he noticed a stark contrast between the personalized learning style that one-on-one provides compared to the generalized approach seen in collective classrooms. Marcus has grown to understand the value of one-on-one learning and how it can focus in on particular facets of a student’s academic development in an otherwise busy day school environment. With experience in many Ontario classrooms, Marcus has worked with the Toronto Catholic School Board as well as the York Region District School Board setting up lesson plans and classroom activities to enhance student learning across all main subjects. Marcus’ background in Film and Media studies has influenced his teaching approach, providing students the ability to express their ideas both conventionally as well as visually. Celeste graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston with a Bachelor of Honours in Arts and Science. She majored in Global Development Studies, a cross-disciplinary department teaching courses exploring politics, philosophy, economics, environmental justice, public relations, global governance, religion, history, geography, and social justice. Celeste was also a concurrent education student working to complete her teaching certification alongside her undergraduate degree. She is entering her final year of teacher’s college, completing three classroom placements and fulfilling her teachable subjects, history and geography. Celeste has been engaged in teaching since she began coaching volleyball at fourteen. This sparked her love for teaching and encouraged her to seek further opportunities. She has worked at Olympia Sports Camp as a counsellor and a summer schoolteacher for their outdoor ed high school leadership credit. She has taught grade nine English, science, and geography, as well as grade twelve English, grade ten world religions, grade ten civics and careers, and grade eleven world history while on placement. Celeste has experience working with elementary school students through her responsibility of caring for students from junior kindergarten to grade five at Pickering Colleges After Care Program. She has worked with the Helen Tufts Society in Kingston, where she was paired with a grade four student whom she met with once a week for tutoring. Melissa has worked extensively with students across different age groups, including elementary and secondary school, fostering their learning and helping them achieve academic success. Nadia was a Montessori teacher (AMI trained) for over 35 years. She taught at the Casa level as well as Grade 1-2. She spent the last 8 years teaching Core French from the Casa level to Grade 3 at a local private school. Nadia is trained in the Orton-Gillingham Methodology and is currently tutoring students with this approach. She is passionate about Literacy and enjoys seeing the reading success of her students. Nadia also tutors adult Japanese ESL students online in Business English.

Her love of travel had her teaching ESL in Argentina and her students ranged from 10 to 70 years young! She spends time in Cuba with friends when time and resources permit. Hello I’m Pina, a retired Ontario Certified Teacher with 30 years teaching experience in Ontario public schools in the Primary/Junior Division including French. I’ve also taught Grades 9 and 10 Math.
I am passionate about helping children overcome their fear of failure. Communication is key. Students are successful when parents, children and teachers communicate and work together.

Ralph graduated with high distinctions from the Rotman school of management at the University (BCom ’21 with a specialization in finance and economics, major in economics, and minor in environmental economics). After graduating, Ralph decided to follow his dreams of becoming a professional football (soccer) player and has been playing professionally in Europe for the last three years. Ram is an Ontario Certified Teacher and is fully qualified to teach English to Intermediate & Senior grades.  He  started his educational journey at the University of Waterloo where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English.  While serving as an English tutor at one of his placements, he realized the field of education was the perfect professions for him.  Since then, Ram completed his Masters of Education from OISE/University of Toronto and is excited about working with students as a teacher, tutor and educator and helping them with all aspects of English Language – reading/comprehension, writing & research skills. Alexandra (Sasha) graduated in October 2021 from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and is currently a teacher candidate at the University of Western Ontario’s Teacher Education program, specializing in Intermediate/Senior Science and Chemistry. Throughout her professional journey, Sasha has worked with students of all ages as a camp counselor and manager, tutor, behavioral therapist, and student teacher.
Sasha’s teaching experience includes instructing math, health, and english at the Grade 8 level, working with students transitioning from specialized classroom settings, and supporting learners in both English and French-speaking environments. With a strong STEM background, she is also striving toward earning additional teaching subject qualifications in biology, math, and physics, as well as French.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology with a specialization in research at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University and is currently completing her Bachelor of Education with a focus on the primary and junior divisions at Lakehead University.

In addition to her passion for education, Selina is an active individual who prioritizes fitness in her daily routine She enjoys sports, weightlifting, running, yoga, and hiking. She believes that keeping active is essential for maintaining a positive mindset and energized. She’s also a strong advocate of creativity and the arts, finding balance and grounding in her life through artistic pursuits such as painting, drawing, and writing. She practices meditation and yoga to support her mental and emotional well-being, helping her stay calm, focused, and present in all aspects of her life.

As an educator, Selina is passionate about creating a positive learning environment that fosters open communication and meaningful connections with her students, their families, and the community. She understands that every child has unique learning styles and abilities and, therefore, adopts a range of instructional strategies to meet each student where they are and support their individual needs. Sen is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He completed his M.Sc and M.Ed.He is currently working on his doctoral program at the University of Toronto. Sen has taught in a variety of school settings, including both the Catholic and Public School Boards and Private Schools in the Intermediate and Senior Divisions. Sen’s empathy, positive attitude, enthusiastic leadership and responsibility, are some of the characteristics which he brings forth as a result of his experiences with teaching students. His goal is to teach so that learning feels fun and that his students feel comfortable to make mistakes and ask questions. In his spare time, Sen enjoys listening to Indian classical music, going for walks, and cooking.

Shabnam is a theoretical physicist with a PhD from Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, Italy. She has worked as a researcher in different universities and countries. Before moving to Toronto, she lived in Singapore for more than six years and worked as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Quantum Technologies. She has taught undergrad students at universities such as Bilkent University, National University of Singapore and Yale-NUS college. In early 2019 she transitioned from academia to entrepreneurship. Currently she is a Co-Founder and Director of a start-up in Toronto.

In addition to her teaching experience at university level, she was a Math and Physics tutor right after finishing her high school until she became a PhD student. She has her way of simplifying scientific subjects for students to help them learn gradually and develop their logical thinking and problem solving abilities. Even in her entrepreneurial role she enjoys working with the interns a lot.

Shabnam has travelled to several countries and has friends from many different nationalities. Canada is the fifth country that she lives in. In her free time she enjoys cooking, exercising and dancing. When music plays she cannot stand still.

Sheldon Gomes, an Ontario Certified Teacher, is a dedicated and success-driven educator with a strong commitment to fostering student learning and engagement. With a Master of Education from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University, he specializes in teaching general science, biology, chemistry, and social sciences to students in grades 6-12. Throughout his career with the Toronto Catholic District School Board, Sheldon has cultivated inclusive, dynamic classroom environments that encourage curiosity and collaboration. His expertise in differentiated instruction, curriculum development, and student assessment ensures that his teaching practices effectively support diverse learners. Passionate about integrating technology and innovative teaching methods, he continually seeks ways to enhance student engagement. Outside the classroom, Sheldon enjoys hiking scenic trails, capturing moments through photography, traveling to new destinations, and immersing himself in a good book, always eager to explore new ideas and perspectives.

Stephanie is an enthusiastic teacher candidate with her OCT transitional certificate (2024), holding a bilingual Honors Bachelor of Science in Biology from York University (2022) and a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University (2025), specializing in Intermediate and Senior education. During school, she excelled in French, Chemistry, Biology and tutors these subjects as well as G9/10 Math & Science, G11 Functions & G12 Advanced Functions.
Stephanie prioritizes being able to connect with her students. She is always in the know about what’s going on in students’ worlds and makes sure to deliver her lessons in a language that students can not only relate to, but also comfortably internalize. She tailors her lessons to emphasize students’ strengths and to encourage students to become comfortable with the material in the ways that best facilitate their learning.

Stephen enjoys working with students at all levels across many subjects. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters Degree in Comparative Literature, specializing in English, French, and Russian. Stephen’s primary research focus was the nineteenth-century novel. Stephen received a Masters in Divinity from Regis College, also at the University of Toronto, and his MBA from the University of Warwick in the UK, taking continuing studies in finance at The Bocconi School of Management in Milan.

While Stephen’s background is in English and the humanities, he has tutored extensively in math, and especially enjoys working on problem-solving strategies. Stephen also have several years of experience with all aspects of SSAT and SAT preparation, including not only the quantitative and qualitative sections, but also with application essays after test completion.

Stephen has a real passion for literature, history, and philosophy, spending his free time delving into contemporary works. Stephen has recently taken a liking to nineteenth and twentieth-century history, and believes that as citizens we benefit when we have a fuller understanding of the past.

Yashar has over 10 years of experience tutoring all sciences and math courses under the Ontario curriculum to students from Gr. 9-12. He grew up in Richmond Hill, pursuing an undergraduate honours degree in Chemistry from York University. His passion for learning chemistry during his undergraduate career led him to pursue a Master of Science degree in Atmospheric Chemistry, from which he graduated in March 2025. As a graduate student, Yashar was a teaching assistant (i.e., marker and led tutorials and labs) for over 300 students in first-, second-, and third-year undergraduate chemistry courses, including Introduction to Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Advanced Analytical Chemistry. His research was sponsored internationally by NASA and NOAA, where he spent several months as a research-exchange student at NOAA headquarters in Boulder, Colorado. Yashar learned early during his educational career that the best method to master any material was to teach it to his peers and colleagues, developing a passion for teaching and mentoring students to achieve their academic goals. After teaching more than 60 high school students as a tutor, Yashar has developed a strong sense of various teaching styles for his students, ensuring that high school students gain the confidence they need to pursue their academic goals. Apart from tutoring science and math to students, Yash enjoys being a mentor to many of his students, guiding them to pursue their own undergraduate careers in STEM fields.

Zahra, an Ontario Certified Teacher, is a dynamic educator who seamlessly blends her passion for Math and English with creativity and innovation. Having completed her double major in Math and English at York University, followed by a Master of Teaching at OISE, University of Toronto, Zahra has honed her expertise in crafting engaging learning experiences. During a recent teaching practicum, she showcased her inventive teaching approach by designing a unique unit assignment for grade 9 Math students. Instead of sticking to the traditional testing strategy, Zahra introduced a creative project where students demonstrated their Math skills and learning through captivating activities such as Math magic and a codebreaker assignment. Zahra is dedicated to cultivating positive connections with her students by working collaboratively to help them reach their academic goals. Her enthusiasm for creating a kind and resourceful learning environment shines through as she infuses joy into lessons, making the educational journey both enriching and exciting. Zahra achieves this by offering students engaging and meaningful assignments, ensuring that each learning experience is not only educational but also enjoyable.
