Aaron has spent 10 years teaching social studies. In those years, he taught United States History, Economics, Eastern Geographic Perspectives, and an introduction to anthropology. He loved teaching at the high school level, but it seldom allowed him to dive deep into the curriculum and intently work with students to see the light bulb illuminate. He believes every student can master what is taught. Being able to personalize lessons and help your student break through barriers builds confidence for your student’s continued success!
Aaron earned his B.A. in anthropology from Biola University a small Christian Liberal Arts University in Southern California. He then earned his M.Ed in Secondary Education in conjunction with his teaching credential in social studies from the University of Phoenix. And most recently, he earned his M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Concordia University Irvine.
When Aaron is not teaching, he is on the go with his family and kids with all the activities and sports they participate in. He is at the gym for gymnastics with his two daughters, hiking a trail, or on a bike ride enjoying all the natural beauty that is here in the Treasure Valley. He also teaches part-time at CWI (College of Western Idaho) a basic reading class for the Adult Education Program, to individuals seeking to further their education and careers.

Amrita has a Masters in Finance and Masters in Business Administration through distance education in India. After becoming a mother of two kids she switched her career from Information Technology to teaching. She started to enjoy teaching, especially Math, to elementary children at the International school in India. She is passionate about learning new math concepts and knows how to help children improve their focus and attention, building a strong foundation in this subject in a very friendly manner. She enjoys bringing her perspective, international experiences and wealth of education to those she works with.

Amy Weniger has an extensive background in education, and a deep desire to help every student fall in love with learning. She is a certified teacher with 15 years of elementary classroom experience. She has also been the Lead Administrator (Principal/Superintendent) for a local charter school, Village Leadership Academy, where she encouraged a culture of leadership and learning for educators, students, and their families. Not only has she been an elementary teacher and administrator, she has trained educators across the state through a local non-profit called Lee Pesky Learning Center. Through her position as a training specialist, she provided professional development and coaching to support teachers in providing evidence-based learning for their students. Amy earned both her bachelors and masters degree in educational leadership from Boise State University. Through their extended educational program, she also traveled to Belize on a service trip serving schools and students in areas of poverty. She is thrilled to be a part of Prep Academy Tutors of Boise and looks forward to fostering the love of learning and making a difference in every young student she has the privilege of tutoring.

Caleb graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelors of Science in Physics, with an applied math minor. He taught labs for the physics department during his undergrad as well as tutoring in physics and math. He enjoys working with students to help them succeed. In his free time he enjoys biking, stargazing, and gaming with his friends.

Caleb is from Billings, Montana and was the first Native American Valedictorian at West High School. He has mentored and tutored high school students for nearly a decade to help them prepare for and apply to college. A few of the elite universities his students have been accepted to are: Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, and Amherst College. Caleb has a M.A in Native Food Systems from Montana State University and a B.A in Environmental Studies from Amherst College. His relevant professional career experience has ranged from being a college prep coach to working as a graduate research and teaching assistant. Having recently graduated, he is young enough to relate to your child while being old enough to have the lived experience to share. Caleb believes that academic success comes from a holistic understanding of one’s personal goals and playing off of one’s strengths. Outside of work he enjoys camping, trivia, and getting friends together to play board games.

Cam is an experienced and passionate English Language Arts teacher and tutor originally from Boise. She is proud to teach English to freshmen and sophomores at a local arts-integrated charter school in Nampa, where she also serves as the English department chair for grades 6-12. Cam earned a bachelor’s degree in English Secondary Education and a minor in Linguistics from Boise State University in 2022. She is currently working towards a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MA-LS) degree with an English emphasis through Delta State University. Cam is skilled at teaching both reading/literature and writing/composition. She believes in using an integrative, inquiry-based approach to reading that includes elements from the arts, social sciences, and humanities in the comprehension and analysis of literature. She strives to make reading engaging by incorporating her students’ interests and curiosities into the analysis of a text. In addition to her love of reading instruction, Cam is deeply passionate about teaching writing. She fell in love with both writing itself and the teaching of writing when she became a consultant at her high school’s writing tutoring center at 15. She went on to become a consultant at the Boise State Writing Center, where she continues to tutor writers at the university level. Her approach to teaching writing is deeply rooted in genre theory and rhetorical theory. She loves helping students take ownership of their work as writers and learn that writing is a powerful tool for learning more about themselves and the world around them. Outside of work, Cam loves spending time with her two cats (Shadow and Chai), traveling, thrifting, and, of course, reading and writing.

Carissa is a dedicated and passionate certified teacher with over 23 years of experience in elementary education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Reading from California State University, Fullerton, where she deepened her expertise in literacy instruction.

Throughout her teaching career, Carissa creates a classroom environment where learning is both fun and meaningful. She brings lessons to life with creative, hands-on activities that spark curiosity and make academic concepts accessible to all learners. Her commitment to building strong relationships with students and their families is at the heart of her teaching philosophy, helping foster trust, confidence, and a love for learning in every child she teaches.

Outside the classroom, Carissa enjoys spending time with her family camping, cheering on their favorite sports teams, and relaxing at the lake.

Cynthia has spent most of her adult life teaching all levels of High School Spanish including Advanced Placement Spanish Language and Culture. Her students enjoyed a 100% pass rate on the Advanced Placement Spanish Language and Culture Exam most years and never below a 90% pass rate collectively. Her students have continued their higher education at: Stanford, Princeton, Harvard, Boston College, etc. She thoroughly enjoyed her teaching experience but is looking forward to coaching students to success in their personal educational goals in a smaller setting that adapts to individualized learning styles. Throughout her career she has attended many Professional Development Conferences which have given her teaching strategies to help your students meet their educational objectives.
Cynthia attained her B.A. in Spanish and Teaching Credential from San Diego State University. Her junior year was fulfilled at the, “Universidad de Complutense” in Madrid, Spain through San Diego State University’s International Exchange Program. Subsequently, she completed two 6-week Graduate Study Programs at the same university in Madrid. In addition to her extensive time in Spain, she has also visited Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
When Cynthia is not teaching, she enjoys the abundant outdoor life here with her husband by hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing, etc. She also loves cooking and baking and when her two daughters in their 20s visit, she solicits their help in the kitchen. She savors the authentic Spanish/Basque Food and Culture offered at the various establishments located on the Basque Block in Boise.
She looks forward to working with your student and helping to adapt learning to the student’s needs for maximum learning outcomes.

Elizabeth is a Certified Teacher in multiple states. She grew up in Alabama on 30 acres and lived in Washington before moving to Boise in 2023. She knew at an early age that she wanted to be a teacher and has pursued her passion for over two decades in various settings. She received her Undergraduate Degree from Samford University in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. Elizabeth has taught in both brick-and-mortar and virtual settings from grades kindergarten to third. Along with being a classroom teacher, Elizabeth has also tutored multiple students over the years to help them find academic success in reading and math. She also homeschooled her twin sons during their junior high school years. Over her years in education, she has also worked in several preschool settings, being a lead teacher and a teacher in a drop-in center. She loves working with students and seeing those “light bulb” moments by meeting a child where they are at in their education journey and connecting with their learning style. Making learning fun and engaging is important to Elizabeth as she works with students to help them reach their academic goals and success. When not teaching or tutoring, Elizabeth loves watching British Premier League and MLS soccer and cheering on the Boise State Broncos. She loves spending time with her husband, twin adult sons, and two mini Australian Shepherds.

Hope is a Certified Teacher. She grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, before moving to Idaho. She completed her Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Creative Writing and then went on to get a Master in the Art of Teaching at The College of Idaho. Hope has worked in education for almost a decade as a college writing tutor, an AVID tutor, middle school teacher, and academic interventionist. Hope grew up with a deep love of stories and the natural world. She takes the motto of “jack of all trades” to heart and works to learn any and all skills she has interest in. During her free time, Hope can be found reading, writing, gardening, embroidering, or out seeing theater performances. In teaching, Hope has a passion for media analysis and the interconnection of literature and history. She believes personal connection is important and the integration of subjects with each other and the world is a cornerstone to understanding in education.

Julene is a lifelong learner with bachelor’s degrees in History and Mathematics. She has tutored middle school through college students for over five years, both those trying to catch up and those excited to push themselves to new heights. Over her tutoring career, she has covered math, writing, and history most thoroughly, with scattered but meaningful experiences in many other subjects. In addition to her degree and private tutoring experience, Julene has been a teaching assistant in highschool readiness math classes, as well as college level writing and math courses. She is drawn to the opportunity to meet students where they’re at, no matter where that is, and bring them confidence and understanding from there. She prioritizes getting to know her students, understanding their personalities and learning styles, in order to collaborate with them on their learning. She emphasizes the connection between personal interests, real world applications, and the subjects at hand. Last but certainly not least, Julene is unabashedly nerdy, a fan of knowledge in all its forms, and constantly excited to bring some of that passion into a student’s life and conception of school subjects.

Kyla is a seasoned songwriter and audio editor with a passion for music, lyrics, and music technology. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Music Production from Full Sail University, she rediscovered her love for education and set to work training the next generation of musicians, songwriters, and producers. She has worked alongside music industry greats such as Songwriter of the Year recipient Logan Belle (Songwriters of America 2001, 2007), prolific production music composer Dave Kropf (CBS Sports, NFL Network, Animal Planet, Netflix, Disney, and more), and songwriter and producer Veit Renn (NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Hudson). She looks forward to mentoring students on how to turn their own ideas into fully realized demo tracks. With half a decade of studio experience, Kyla can instruct students on proper recording techniques, the capture musical ideas in MIDI and notation, how audio effects like reverb and delay work, and what it means to mix and master to the industry standard.
When not noodling around in Pro Tools and Logic Pro, Kyla loves to travel to new places, play ukulele in the park, and write short stories for an online publication.

Luke graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics. Though he completed his degree in Arizona, he has primarily lived in the Boise area since 2016. During his undergraduate studies, Luke served as a math and physics tutor at the university’s tutoring center and led discussion groups for an introductory physics course for engineering students. He is passionate about communicating the importance of science and enjoys deepening his technical understanding through collaborative, thoughtful discussion. Luke plans to pursue a master’s degree in Atmospheric Science, focusing on weather modeling. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, fly fishing, and working in the garden.

Madeline has been tutoring mathematics since she was in high school. She graduated from University of Idaho in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and has been working in academic intervention at the secondary level since then. She believes the “Eureka!” moments students have when they finally understand something are the most beautiful and magical thing in the world. She believes it is important to treat students as the multi-faceted individuals they are, spiral in old material when teaching the new, and try new approaches if a student does not understand something. Madeline attends game nights every Sunday, book club every Wednesday, and paints when she can find the time.

Madison is finishing her B.A. in Forensic Psychology at Arizona State University, with a minor in English. She is looking to start her master’s program in 2026. Madison has multiple years of experience tutoring and working in private schools. In those years she managed to refine her approach on how to work with a vast array of students.
Growing up Madison had insatiable love for literature, writing, and reading. However, her passions didn’t stop there. Madison decided to lean into forensics and criminology which required a different mindset than creative writing. In her time in university, she became experienced in scholarly and technical writing. Therefore, she is able to help students build case studies and research papers to help the student become more familiar and comfortable with both MLA and APA style writing. Madison also has extensive grasp of psychology including topics about memory and social psychology.
Madison’s teaching style involves turning challenges into opportunities. She is passionate about using the student’s own interests to solve problems. Madison also allows the student to explain the topic back to her in order to find blind shots in their knowledge surrounding the topic. In addition, she does more than work on the student’s subject material. The student will also work on time management, developing healthy study habits, and building self-motivation. These are valuable tools they can use as move through the grade levels and beyond.
Madison was born in Nampa, Idaho. In her free time, she enjoys taking care of her two dogs, gaming, baking, and yoga. She is looking forward to working with your child and watching them blossom as their knowledge increases.

Mary is a Boise State University senior earning her degree in History with a Latin language and Biology minor. She grew up in Boise, Idaho but has spent the last three years serving as a Lead Professor’s Assistant and Writing Tutor at Utah State University. With a background in everything from elementary to collegiate tutoring, Mary believes there is nothing more important than asking questions and loves to help fellow students discover their love of learning.

She enjoys reading and watching performances by her favorite 60s and 70s bands, though she never turns down a good documentary or a walk.

Megan McCoy is a Certified Teacher. She grew up in Emmett, moving to Colville, Washington, and Carson City, Nevada, to complete an Online Undergraduate Degree in General Education (K-8) and Special Education (K-12) with an endorsement in Teaching English as a Second Language. She has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education with an endorsement in Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. Megan grew up with a deep love of travel, concerts, and the ocean, and took the opportunity to explore the West Coast while completing her degrees. During her stays, Megan discovered her passion for teaching and working with children. When she decided to pursue teaching as a career, Megan moved back home to teach in her hometown and begin a family. Through teaching, Megan has been able to foster her love of Math and reading. During the summer months, Megan enjoys teaching summer school (which encourages all children to enjoy learning through interactive, consistent, and hands-on experiences), reading, camping, and spending time with her family and friends. Megan is beginning to work one-on-one with children from 6 years old through middle school in her spare time who struggle with behavior, as well as helping support them by improving their reading, writing, vocabulary, and math skills. Megan believes that by building a solid relationship with her students, she can better meet their needs and grow their learning. As a mentor, Megan continues to develop strategies for working with children. She finds these experiences enjoyable and extremely rewarding.

Michelle is an energetic tutor with a wide array of experience and a fervor for teaching and learning. She grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina and earned a double major in Philosophy and Medicine, Science, and the Humanities from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Currently, she is a first year medical student at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. With experience working as both an EMT and a tutor to many different kinds of students, she finds immense joy in helping others whether through the practice of medicine or by fostering a love for learning and personal growth. For Michelle, tutoring is not only about mastering material but about building confidence and a curiosity for the world around us; connecting with students is one of her favorite parts of tutoring, and she is always grateful for the opportunity to help a student find themselves and their interests. Michelle has experience working with age groups ranging from pre-k to university, and has enjoyed the unique aspects of working with every single age group. Throughout the years Michelle has taught math, English, and science, and she especially loves to teach chemistry and biology. Michelle loves to travel, especially countries in which she can practice languages she has studied in the past, such as Italian and French. In her free time, she works on her clinical research projects, plays volleyball, lifts weights, and experiments with cooking. She also loves spending time outdoors with Roxy, 2 year old puppy.

Morgan graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science Education, with a concentration in Chemistry and a minor in Spanish. She completed her student teaching in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she taught 6th and 8th grade science. After graduating, she was an Au Pair for a year in Bilbao, Spain, where she lived with a family, helping take care of the kids and teaching them English. When she returned to the States, she spent the next year and a half teaching experiential science education at Keystone Science School in Colorado. Morgan loved how her classroom was outside every day, even in the snow, and facilitating hands-on science activities. Most recently, Morgan was able to combine her passion for traveling and teaching by leading a language and cultural immersion program in Costa Rica with a group of high school students. Morgan is dedicated to inspiring the next generation and building meaningful connections with her students along the way. When Morgan isn’t teaching or traveling, you can find her skiing, hiking, or biking in the mountains; kayaking or swimming in a lake; or curled up with a good book!

Patricia Tibesar graduated from Colby College with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Environmental Science and a minor in English Literature. She grew up in Caldwell, Idaho, and moved to Maine to complete her degree, though she has also lived in Spain, Mexico, and Costa Rica. At Colby College, Patricia worked closely with the Center for Teaching and Learning. As a learning assistant, Patricia worked with students to engage them with their learning and encourage asking questions, and she worked with professors and staff to rework course designs to improve student learning. She enjoys tutoring and helping students understand their learning because of the reward of a student feeling their own confidence grow. In her free time, Patricia loves reading, watching movies and reviewing them on Letterboxd, and traveling, both domestically and internationally.

Preston is an Idaho native who grew up in Twin Falls before graduating High School in 2017 and attending Boise State University for his undergraduate degree. During his undergraduate career, Preston was initially pre-med and spent time interning at hospitals and medical clinics in both the U.S. and Greece before he began working in a research lab and finding his true passion in biological research. Starting in his second year of his undergraduate studies, Preston also began tutoring a wide array of students in various subjects and developed a passion for being able to help others. Helping students understand and succeed in the subject being taught and understand what it takes to be successful throughout their current and future courses. Throughout this time, Preston has primarily tutored general biology, molecular biology, cellular biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and statistics, but has also spent time tutoring English second language high school students in a wide array of high school subjects. Preston graduated from Boise State in May of 2021 with his Bachelor of Science in Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Biology. Following graduation, Preston moved to Salt Lake City where he spent time doing viral research at the University of Utah before returning to Boise State to pursue his Ph.D., where he is currently a third-year molecular biology Ph.D. candidate. In his free time Preston likes to spend his time snowboarding, wakeboarding, boating, hiking, and spending time outdoors.

Rob is a mathematics graduate student at Boise State University, where he is researching the mathematics of machine learning and artificial intelligence. He graduated from the University of Puget Sound (2023), with double majors in math and economics. Growing up in Boise, Rob attended Boise High School, where he developed a deep curiosity for math in his AP calculus classroom. That curiosity blossomed into a passion for understanding how math describes the world. Rob loves to share his passion for math and learning with anyone who will listen, especially younger students who need extra practice or are looking to get ahead! He believes that learning is accomplished through hands-on practice. As a student himself, he understands that learning is highly individualistic and that there is a strategy for every student to succeed. When Rob is not doing math, he enjoys exploring Idaho’s outdoors through skiing, backpacking and fishing, as well as reading and practicing martial arts.

Wyatt Holt is a certified elementary teacher with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University. He currently teaches first grade and is passionate about helping young learners build a strong academic foundation through whole and small group instruction and targeted support. By identifying where students need extra help, he creates personalized learning experiences that foster growth and confidence. He believes strong relationships are key to student success and works to ensure every child feels supported and valued. Before becoming a teacher, Wyatt played two years of college basketball, an experience that shaped his dedication, teamwork, and leadership—qualities he brings into both the classroom and his role as a basketball coach. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, staying active, and continuously learning about new research in teaching.
