A passionate reader, Jocelyn finishes 150+ books a year, participates in multiple book clubs, and recently completed a four-year literature certification to further strengthen her expertise. She is excited to bring her love of literature into the classroom and help students expand both their skills and their appreciation for English and History.

Outside of academics, Jocelyn treasures time with her husband and two sons, both of whom play hockey, with her eldest competing at a high level. She is also an avid runner, having completed four marathons, and is currently training for the Chicago Marathon, where she will earn her second World Major star.

Nicole (she/her) is currently completing her Bachelor of Education at Trent University in the Intermediate/Senior stream with a focus on English and Drama. With an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto and Sheridan College’s joint programme in Theatre and Drama Studies, Nicole attended the only theatre programme in Canada where you could graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree and an Honours Diploma in four years. At the University of Toronto, her undergraduate courses included those in the Arts, Language, Education, Cinema Studies, Psychology and History.

Nicole has worked as an occasional supply teacher for PVNCCDSB and DDSB school boards, where she has taught Math, English, French, Science, Social Studies, EQAO preparation, and Visual Art in both English and French Immersion from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Through this role, Nicole has obtained multiple Long-Term Occasional positions from school principals in recognition of strong classroom management practices and implementation of the Ontario Curriculum prior to the Faculty of Education. Additionally, Nicole has worked as a camp counselor, an arts instructor, a tutor in the classroom, a peer tutor as a high school student, and most notably, an Assistant Director and Residence Facilitator in the Stratford Festival Education Programs.

In addition to teaching within Ontario school boards, Ohimai has served as an Electronics Professor at Durham College for over a decade, where he has helped students succeed in engineering and technology-related courses. Rachel is a fifth-year student in the Concurrent Education program at Queen’s University, where she is completing both her Bachelor of Arts Honours and Bachelor of Education degrees.
