DIANA R.

Diana is a dedicated teacher who is passionate about creating a learning environment that is encouraging and instills confidence in students. Diana has worked as a classroom educator and private tutor for over 15 years. She is adept at implementing various strategies and techniques that differentiate learning so that each student can achieve success and develop skills for lifelong learning. Diana received her Master of Science and Certification in Elementary Education in 2006 and worked as a fourth-grade teacher at a Connecticut public school for over 10 years. As a classroom teacher, Diana instructed students with various learning needs in all subjects and has extensive experience in accommodating varying learning styles. She strongly believes that students thrive in an environment that helps them feel confident and successful. As a private tutor, Diana continues to implement her philosophy of teaching. Richard is a highly experienced math tutor with a Ph.D in Business Management from the Shanghai University of Business & Economics. He also has a Masters degree in Business Management and B.Sc in Management Information Systems with a minor in English. Richard has years of experience tutoring SAT Math, GMAT and can tutor all math to G12. Fluent in both Mandarin and English, he has spent the past decade providing training, coaching and academic guidance to students seeking to improve their math skills and logical thinking abilities. As a dedicated math tutor, Richard finds it very rewarding watching his students improve not just in math but in their reasoning and analytical skills. Outside of tutoring, Richard is an amateur guitarist, singer and a devoted basketball fan. He even had the honour of serving as a personal interpreter for the late Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and several other NBA players during their visits to China.

Jeiny holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Diploma in Theatre and Improvisation from Venezuela. Additionally, she achieved a Certificate in Public Relations from Toronto Metropolitan University.

In addition to her work in corporate consulting, Jeiny is currently a Volunteer Facilitator at the Royal Ontario Museum, where she fosters public interest in science and biodiversity through engaging presentations. Her background in Theatre and Improvisation also allows her to bring creativity and energy to her Spanish lessons, ensuring a dynamic and interactive learning experience for her students.

Janella S-R

Janella holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Environmental Sciences and a specialization in Wildlife Biology from McGill University. She is a recipient of the prestigious McCall MacBain International Fellowship, through which she spent two years in South Korea. During this time, she developed advanced Korean language skills, translated at science exhibitions, and taught English fluency to students.

With over four years of tutoring experience at the elementary level, as well as several years assisting high school and college students in mathematics and science-based courses, Janella has honed her ability to make complex subjects accessible and engaging. She utilizes practical, relatable, and enjoyable methods to ignite curiosity and a passion for learning in her students.

Janella also holds a TEFL certification and brings additional expertise in scientific writing, research, and proofreading. Her strong foundation in science subjects, combined with her experience in language education, allows her to provide well-rounded support to students across various academic levels.

Ollie J.

Ollie is currently studying Environmental and Sustainability Sciences (Biology) at Concordia University. He graduated John Abbott College on the honour roll, having completed two internships in environmental science research. He has experience tutoring learners from the elementary to the CEGEP level across a wide variety of subjects.

Ollie is committed to making every student feel welcome. As someone who has struggled with executive functioning, he has personal experience learning how to build routines and study effectively. Ollie believes that teaching learners to work with their unique brains is key to building long-lasting academic habits.

In his free time, Ollie enjoys crocheting, sewing, and embroidery. He also plays the drums!

Audrey L.

Audrey is an experienced tutor with a strong motivation for academia. She has studied in France, England, and Canada, earning a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Public Health. She currently works in clinical research where she manages complex tasks in a detail-oriented environment. As the older sister of two school-aged children, Audrey has plenty of hands-on experience helping with homework and encouraging their learning. She uses fun and effective teaching techniques that work well with younger children, like using colorful visuals, educational games, and breaking down concepts into simple steps. Audrey prioritizes patience and adaptability to connect with students and meet their individual needs. She focuses on clear communication, actively listens to her students, and uses positive reinforcement to build their confidence and motivation.

Audrey is passionate about helping kids feel confident in what they learn and sparking their curiosity about new ideas. She believes that developing these skills early not only helps children do well now but also sets them up for success in the future. Audrey is dedicated to helping children grow academically and personally.

Samantha S-M.

Samantha has a Master of Science degree in Molecular Genetics as well as a Bachelor’s degree in biology and mathematics. Since high school Samantha has been tutoring a wide range of grade levels in math and science. Since University Samantha has focused on tutoring all math and science subjects. Samantha believes in fostering a positive tutoring environment which encourages students to become confident in their skills. Samantha encourages students to excel by being patient and using repetition when needed. Outside of tutoring Samantha enjoys playing piano, downhill skiing and listening to Taylor Swift.

David H.

With over 25 years of progressive experience in education, David is a proud promoter of student self-advocacy and independence.

Having graduated from OISE’s Child Study program, David has gone on to teach K-12 in both public and independent schools across Canada and abroad, specializing in University Guidance, Senior English, Primary/Junior Language Arts, executive functioning/study skills, health and wellness support, and socio-emotional counselling.

With a Master of International Education (School Leadership) David has experience as Vice-Principal at TFS, Head of Enrichment at Bishop’s College School and Head of Student Support at West Island College, always believing that leadership is a service industry.

David is dedicated to supporting kids who need a hand. He knows how to inspire students, and establish effective programming that fosters student involvement and parental confidence.

KADEEN M.

Kadeen is an OCT certified teacher who holds Primary/Junior qualifications and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning. She is also a Special Education and Reading Specialist who possesses over ten years of experience in diverse and inclusive classroom settings. She was trained to deliver Mathematics content using a multi-sensory approach to students with learning disabilities in Mathematics. Kadeen is also a trained Phonics Academy tutor who has ample experience in applying appropriate teaching and assessment methodologies and is an expert at designing and developing educational activities and preparing teaching material. She taught at the Primary and the Secondary levels internationally and is currently an elementary teacher in Ontario. In her current role, she successfully implemented instruction that fosters academic growth and personal development for students with varying needs. She collaborates closely with parents, therapists, and other educators to ensure that their approaches are holistic and tailored to maximize educational outcomes.

With over 16 years of dedicated experience in education, Deanna has had the privilege of shaping young minds as an elementary classroom teacher, literacy specialist, instructional coach, professional development specialist, and private tutor.
