Andrea D. R.

Andrea is a dedicated professional specializing in applied behaviour analysis (ABA) with extensive experience supporting early learners in developing foundational skills in math and English. She has completed her Master of Professional Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Western University and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Behavioural Science Technician Diploma. Currently serving as a Behaviour Clinician, Andrea excels in designing individualized behaviour intervention plans, coaching teams, and conducting skill assessments like ABLLS-R and VB-MAPP to guide early academic and developmental goals. Her experience includes implementing evidence-based strategies like Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Natural Environment Teaching (NET) to enhance language, literacy, and numeracy skills. With a strong background in tutoring, training caregivers, and fostering collaboration with families and educators, Andrea is passionate about creating engaging, personalized learning experiences that build confidence and success in young learners.

Ryan C.

Ryan is originally from the Big Island of Hawai’i and is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Hawai’i and a Bachelors of Professional Studies for Primary/Junior (Honours with Distinction) from Niagara University.

Ryan uses a multimedia approach to accommodate various learning styles and believes in incorporating a student’s personal interests beyond the classroom into lesson plans to help with retention and comprehension.

In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding, swimming, and fishing with his 8-year-old son. Next on their list: Brazilian jiu-jitsu!

Michael Z.

Michael A. Zaucedo graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2021. He grew up in Chicago, IL and attended a boarding High school at Lake Forest Academy in 2011. Michael grew up with a deep love for Science and Mathematics and took a study abroad opportunity in Costa Rica in the summer of 2018 to study an indigenous plant called Jatoba. During the summer of 2019, he discovered his passion for teaching and working with children when completing his teaching internship at High Jump Chicago as a teaching assistant (TA) for Chemistry––through teaching, he fostered his love for Chemistry and Mathematics. In his spare time, Michael works one-on-one with students ranging from middle through High School. He encouraged and supported the improvement of their Chemistry, and Mathematics skills ranging from Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus. As a mentor, Michael continues to develop strategies for working with students and believes that building strong relationships will grow their learning and help guide them to reach their full potential toward being a well rounded student. Michael enjoys playing sports like baseball, basketball and football, watching suspense movies, as well as spending time with his family and friends.

 

Jean G.

Jean has 12 years of teaching experience, and is passionate about working with students in the early elementary grades. She began her career as a Kindergarten teacher and has experience teaching grades Kindergarten through 3rd, most recently acting as a 3rd grade teacher in Bonita Springs, Florida. Jean feels strongly that students learn best when the teacher develops an impactful student relationship, and the student is motivated by this relationship to learn. She loves to make learning fun in the younger years! When Jean moved to Chicago to be closer to family, she realized she missed connecting with students and loves the flexibility the tutoring position brings to her busy life. She also loves the ability to connect to students one-on-one, and see their academic growth. Jean received her Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Child Science from Florida State University, and since then obtained her reading endorsement (PreK-12) as well as a certification of completion in Orton-Gillingham reading instruction.

When not teaching and tutoring, Jean enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys. She loves to explore local parks, trails and all things nature. She is still getting used to “Chicago winters” but is up for the challenge! Jean loves cooking and watching FSU sports. She is looking forward to meeting local students and families and helping students achieve academic success!

 

 

Geneviève N-R.

Geneviève is a recent graduate in Biochemical Engineering from Queen’s University. Throughout her undergrad, she was a chemistry tutor teaching students one-on-one, in small groups, and in lecture halls of over 150 students for pre-exam workshops. She also worked as a Chemistry TA, teaching in-person and online tutorial sessions to classrooms of students to review the professor’s weekly lecture material with lessons, assignments, and quizzes she prepared. As an instructor for the University of Toronto’s Jr DEEP Program, she gained experience teaching elementary and middle school-aged students, having developed and taught a weeklong curriculum of biomedical engineering-related lessons to groups throughout the summer. Finally, she has ski instructed students aged 6 to 21 for the past eight winters with Snowhawks Ski & Snowboard School in Ontario. In her spare time, Geneviève is a rock climber, backcountry skier, dabbles in alpinism, and volunteers at the Squamish Foodbank.

Geneviève has always enjoyed the teaching process of breaking down tricky concepts in fun, easy to remember ways, and strives for that “aha” moment in a student’s eyes when you can tell they’ve developed an understanding for a new concept. Also, she is informed in teaching students with different learning styles and/or neurodivergence. So, whether it be in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Math, English, or French, Geneviève looks forward to working with your family to offer extra support or enrichment in your student’s learning!

Aoife R.

Aoife is a passionate teacher and BC certified educator dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential. With six years of teaching experience in Ireland, before working in Canada as a resource teacher, she brings a wealth of knowledge and innovative strategies to her tutoring sessions.
Aoife graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Dublin in 2016, where she developed a strong foundation in educational practices.Holding a second degree in psychology, Aoife understands the unique learning styles of each student, allowing her to tailor her approach for maximum impact. Her focus on building confidence and fostering a love for learning ensures that students not only grasp their subjects but also develop essential skills for lifelong success.

In her free time, Aoife enjoys hiking, exploring art, listening to music, and finding inspiration in the world around her. Her engaging and supportive teaching style creates a positive environment where students feel valued and empowered to reach their goals.

MINA G

Mina G. holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Tampere University in Finland. With over seven years of teaching experience, Mina has successfully guided students across a wide range of subjects, including math, physics, chemistry, and science, from elementary to undergraduate levels. She possesses a comprehensive understanding of the Ontario curriculum and is skilled in adapting her teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles, ensuring that each student receives personalized support. Mina specializes in working with children aged 5 to 19, creating engaging lessons that foster both independent thinking and a genuine interest for learning. Known for her patience, clear communication, and ability to simplify complex concepts, Mina helps students build confidence and reach their academic potential. Her commitment to cultivating a positive learning environment has made her a trusted and effective tutor among students and parents alike.

 

 

Emma D.

Emma is a certified intermediate/senior teacher who specializes in teaching English and French (FSL). Emma earned her honours Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature and French studies (2021), and her Bachelor of Education at Western University (2023). She first developed her passion for literature during her time in high school and has been an avid reader since. Emma was very successful throughout her undergraduate degree. She was awarded both the Parents Fund Award and the Alumni Gold Medal for her high academic standing and her dedication to helping her community. Emma has dedicated much of her time as a substitute teacher. She worked for the Thames Valley District School Board and the York Region District School Board during her time in Ontario. Since moving to Montreal this summer, Emma is currently working as a substitute teacher for the English Montreal School Board. Emma has lots of experience working as a teacher in high schools and elementary schools. As well, she has lots of experience tutoring various ages/levels (K-12) and subjects. Emma is even certified in the Orton-Gillingham remedial literacy methodology. She has lots of experience working with students with special learning needs (gifted, students with Dyslexia, ADHD, etc.). Emma is dedicated to helping students and giving back to the community, which is why she has decided to pursue teaching as a career.

Dylan S.

Dylan is a dedicated tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Computing, specializing in Software Engineering. He has over three years of experience helping students succeed in a wide range of subjects, including Math, Science, and Computer Science. With a strong academic background and hands-on experience, Dylan is well-equipped to guide students through challenging concepts and foster a deeper understanding of each subject.

In addition to his private tutoring work, Dylan has also contributed his expertise at a Robotics Learning Center, where he worked with students of varying ages and skill levels, teaching complex topics in robotics and computer science. This experience has helped him develop a unique ability to break down technical concepts into easy-to-understand lessons that engage and empower students.

Dylan is deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring. He finds great fulfillment in helping students unlock their potential, overcome obstacles, and build confidence in their abilities.

 

Maryam B.

Maryam is a third-year honors undergraduate student majoring in biochemistry at York University. She possesses both a strong foundation in STEM subjects and an eye for the arts. Maryam specializes in subjects including Mathematics, Science, Biology, Chemistry, French, English, History and Social Studies. Before she transferred to York University, Maryam earned first place among her peers in Calculus at the American University of Sharjah, UAE. Having lived in 14 international cities, and 6 countries, and traveled to 20+ countries, Maryam has become a vibrant mosaic of so many mesmerizing cultures. Moreover, she is fluent in 3 languages: English, French, and Arabic. Working as both a swim instructor and tutor for over 11 years now, Maryam excels at conveying knowledge in an engaging and digestible way. She is an approachable and patient educator, prioritizing the student’s engagement and understanding. Learning is an uncomfortable experience, and Maryam recognizes that students may feel afraid or intimidated. So she makes sure to accommodate students as best as possible while still challenging them and improving their abilities. Overall, Maryam is both a life-long learner and educator who is eager to push students to achieve their full academic potential and grow a newfound passion for knowledge.
