LUNA O.
Luna has 5 years of tutoring experience at the senior level in the AVID program, a college-bound preparatory program within the US. Her focus during this time was in English, math, and Advanced Placement essay-writing at the senior level.
Luna has a Bachelor’s degree in English as a Single-subject from CSU Los Angeles.
Luna has completed her studies in the University of Toronto Master of Teaching program and is expected to receive her diploma in June 2026. She has over 120 hours of classroom experience with Grade 4/5, and Grade 7/8 learners.
MICHELLE W.
Michelle is an Ontario-Certified Teacher (transitional certificate) with a Master of Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Prior to her transition into education, she graduated from Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto and worked in the manufacturing sector, where she is still active part-time.
Michelle has experience teaching language, mathematics, and science at the Junior / Intermediate level, and has a strong background in the senior math and science courses. She has worked in diverse classrooms, supporting students with a wide range of learning needs. She is passionate about STEM education and hopes to inspire and help her students build confidence and academic success.
Michelle has also volunteered for Camp Engies, a weekend camp for girls grade 4-8, where students explore various hands-on engineering related activities and design challenges. In her spare time, Michelle loves to knit, practice yoga and mindfulness, and read.
Shannon S.
Shannon S. has a decade of teaching experience along with over nine years of tutoring children ages 3–14. She currently works as an Autistic Support Early Intervention Teacher for children ages 3–4. Throughout her career, Shannon also taught Kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grades, gaining a strong understanding of how children learn and grow across different stages.
Shannon has extensive experience supporting children in developing early literacy skills, including pre-reading skills, building confidence in learning to read, and strengthening math skills. She enjoys helping children grow academically and gain confidence in their abilities, tailoring her approach to each child’s unique needs.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health from Widener University, where she also completed a Master of Education and obtained teaching certifications in Preschool–8th Grade for both Regular and Special Education. Shannon is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Early Intervention at West Chester University.
Shannon lives in Old City, and in her free time, she enjoys reading a good book, going for a run, and spending time with friends. She is looking forward to the opportunity to work with you and support your child’s growth and success!
Annika P.
Annika is a dedicated educator with a passion for helping learners build confidence and achieve academic success. She is a certified elementary school teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut. During her Master’s program she studied abroad in London, and has traveled to a total of 9 different countries! Annika currently serves as a Reading Acceleration Specialist, supporting K–5 students in strengthening foundational literacy skills while fostering a love of reading. In addition to her school-year role, Annika works as the Alternate Director of a summer camp, where she helps create and manage sports-focused activities for children. With her strong academic background and classroom experience, Annika is committed to providing individualized support that meets each student’s unique learning needs.
OMANYALEE W.
Omanyalee is a dedicated tutor with experience helping students excel in literacy and numeracy. With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health, she also has expertise in the sciences, specifically biology, chemistry, and physics. Omanyalee has provided training and health education to public populations, utilizing structured learning plans to boost confidence and build capacity. She is known for being patient, open-minded, and jovial; qualities that make learning enjoyable. In her free time, Omanyalee loves spending time with friends and family, watching movies, and exploring new experiences.
PAIGE B.
Paige completed a Bachelor of Education at Brock University in the Junior/Intermediate program. She holds a teachable in Mathematics. Paige has been in the classroom first hand in many different grades where she taught 100% of the instructional day while completing practicum days.
Paige also has experience teaching through figure skating coaching. She is a passionate and retired competitive figure skater, bringing her knowledge and abilities to teaching youth on the ice.
She wishes to bring the same passion to math, as she is an advocate for STEM in schools and has participated in various Knowledgehook workshops and professional development days to improve math instruction.
NOAH S.
Noah S. has a Master of Teaching Degree from the University of Toronto/OISE (Class of 2026), as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Theatre: Performance Acting from Toronto Metropolitan University (Class of 2012). In between degrees, he has worked as an actor and writer, as well as a Resident Artist-Educator at Young People’s Theatre. In addition to playing lead roles in theatre, Noah had his feature film debut acting with Academy-Award winner Christoph Waltz. Since 2019, Noah has worked as a professional hiking and cycling guide, where he has coached people to navigate the terrain in the Canadian Rockies, France, Spain, Belize, Costa Rica, and Patagonia. Noah’s breadth of life experience has informed his teaching, where he has worked in both public and independent schools. Whether acting with Oscar winners, guiding people in the mountains, or just helping students to learn, Noah incorporates mindfulness into all of his work, using the words of Jon Kabat-Zinn as a foundation to his teaching practice: “Intelligence is the door to freedom, and alert attention is the mother of intelligence.”
Louise N.
Louise has completed a Master’s of Arts in Child Study and Education this April, and currently holds her Transitional Certificate of Qualification with the OCT. She has worked with students in three school boards ranging from kindergarten to grade 5, and has recently completed an internship in a grade 4/5 French mid-immersion classroom. She enjoys the opportunity to help students learn in French and scaffold this learning to meet their needs.
NICOLE D.
Nicole D. is a former Montessori teacher currently completing her Masters in Teaching at OISE. She grew up in New York City and moved to Toronto in 2012 for her Undergraduate Degree at The University of Toronto, focused on a multidisciplinary study of Food Justice and Sustainability. She then went on to complete her Casa (ages 2.5-6) diploma from the Association Montessori Internationale, as well as her Infant/Toddler diploma from the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education. She worked as a teacher in a Montessori toddler room before returning to school full time for her Masters degree. Nicole has worked with children since she was essentially a child herself. (Fun fact: Her first childcare job at age 10 was as a mother’s helper to Stanley Tucci’s three children.) She has worked extensively with children ages 0-10 as a teacher, nanny, camp counselor, workshop guide, and birthday party performer.
As a neurodivergent student who struggled in school early on (particularly with math), Nicole especially enjoys working one-on-one with young neurodivergent students, and has developed an arsenal of tricks to make learning more approachable and enjoyable for those who struggle like she did.
As well as her passion for working with children, Nicole is a self-taught musician who sings, plays bass, guitar and ukulele, and accordion. She is currently in four bands—including a Bug-themed pop band—but she loves singing and writing songs with kids the most.
Kitty S.
Kitty is a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Worker (CYW) with over 10 years of experience supporting neurodivergent learners, including students with Autism. She brings a strong, student-centred approach, focusing on the development of executive functioning skills, communication strategies, social-emotional growth, and self-advocacy.
Kitty provides individualized, responsive support tailored to each student’s unique needs. She is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that prioritizes student well-being. Her calm, patient demeanor helps create a structured, low-stress setting where students feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn.
She is passionate about equipping students with the tools they need to build confidence, independence, and long-term success.
