Margarita J.

Margarita is a commerce student at Marianopolis College with a strong academic foundation and a passion for education. She graduated from Trafalgar School for Girls with First Class Standing with Honours, earning multiple mathematics awards for her academic excellence.

In high school, Margarita served as head of the peer mentoring program and worked as a math tutor, experiences that deepened her love for teaching and her understanding of different learning styles. For the past three summers, she has worked as both a camp counsellor and swim coach, developing strong communication skills and the ability to make learning engaging and approachable.

Margarita values building a connection with each student and tailoring her approach to meet their individual needs. She takes pride in helping students grow in confidence, master new concepts, and reach their goals

Meg K.

Meg Kell is a dedicated educator specializing in supporting TK–4 students with learning differences. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from Elon University in North Carolina and brings a warm, encouraging approach to her work. Born and raised in Virginia, Meg recently relocated to San Diego, bringing with her years of experience from both private and public schools.

With a focus on early literacy, reading intervention, and mathematics, Meg has successfully worked with a wide range of student profiles, including those with ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and executive functioning challenges. She tailors her instruction to each learner’s strengths, helping students feel that they are capable.

 

 

Tiffany T.

Tiffany is a recent graduate of Arizona State University, earning her Master’s in Elementary Education. She also holds a B.A. in Biology and Spanish with a minor in Psychology from West Virginia University. Her experience spans from student teaching to after-school programs and summer camps, which have allowed her to work with a wide range of students in grades K-6.

Passionate about inquiry-based learning, Tiffany advocates for student agency and creative expression. She enjoys designing engaging enrichment projects and incorporates the arts into her lessons whenever possible. Her goal is to nurture each student’s intrinsic motivation to learn while fostering self-confidence and a love of discovery.

Outside the classroom, Tiffany can often be found curled up with a good book and her cat. She also enjoys hiking, playing games, solving puzzles, and traveling. As a newcomer to San Diego from a small town in West Virginia, she’s always eager for recommendations on local sights and activities!

Alexis R.

Alexis is a certified teacher who loves helping kids increase their ability to achieve goals through learning. Born in Indiana, Alexis graduated with a psychology degree from Anderson University. She went on to pursue a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Western Governors University. She has taught second grade, fifth grade math and science, and STEM specials for Fulton and Paulding County. Alexis has years of experience working with students with ADHD and can provide strategies to develop focus. Alexis believes in collaborating with teachers and consistent building toward real world application to foster achievement and growth.

Alexis has also created two successful businesses: one an early learning childcare business; the other a non-profit helping kids with cancer. In her opinion, helping children helps families who help the world. During her free time, she loves spending time with her family, volunteering in the children’s ministry and writing her first YA novel.

 

RAHMI C.

Rahmi C. holds a Master of Science in Environmental Applied Science and Management, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, both from Toronto Metropolitan University. Over the past three years, he’s taught more than 15 university courses, with an emphasis on subjects like first-year chemistry, biology, physics, and calculus, as well as lab-based and senior-level biomedical sciences courses. Throughout his time as a teaching assistant, Rahmi also supported exam preparation and proctoring, giving him a deep understanding of how to help students succeed at every level.

In addition to his university experience, Rahmi has tutored students from Grades 2 to 8, focusing on small group or one-on-one settings to give each student the attention they deserve. He regularly visited students’ schools, reviewed assignments in advance, and worked directly with their teachers to better understand their strengths and areas for improvement. His goal is always to build confidence, not just comprehension.

Outside of academics, Rahmi runs an international export business, which has sharpened his communication and problem-solving skills. He brings that same attention to detail and relationship-building to his tutoring style.

When he’s not working, Rahmi enjoys volleyball, gaming, and spending time with his two cats, Machu and Pichu — named after his bucket-list destination, Machu Picchu.

 

 

Amanda S.

Amanda S. is a dedicated educator with extensive experience supporting students of all ages. Currently pursuing her Bachelor of Education with an English Honours Major at York University (Con-Ed program), Amanda has combined her academic studies with years of hands-on teaching, coaching, and childcare experience.
She is an Emergency Supply Teacher for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, where she manages classrooms, delivers lessons, and adapts to various grade levels and learning needs. Amanda’s teaching foundation is built off of years of childcare experience as an emergency supply teacher, camp counsellor, Confirmation Catechesis teacher, teacher assistant, sport’s coach, and supporting children with special needs.
Amanda specializes in English; working with children from grades 1-12 in improving their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Additionally, Amanda is equipped to support students in all subjects at the primary and junior level.
Through her work, Amanda has developed teamwork skills, adaptability, strong communication skills, and passion to bring confidence to young learners through personalized support. Amanda brings enthusiasm, patience, and a student-centered approach to every tutoring session, aiming to make learning both effective and enjoyable. Amanda believes confidence is key to success; ensuring each student builds this confidence to excel in their studies!
During her free time, Amanda enjoys walking her dog, spending time at the beach, and playing volleyball!

Natalie M.

I am a passionate and dedicated educator with over 5 years of teaching experience, including 3.5 years in elementary and 2 years in high school. Throughout my career, I have taught a wide range of subjects, with a focus on English, Family Studies, and Mathematics. Most recently, I taught Grade 12 Data Management, which strengthened my love for helping students succeed in math through clear explanations and real-world connections.

Michael P.

With over 25 years of teaching experience, Michael P. is thrilled to help your child reach their academic potential. Michael received his doctorate in music from The University of Iowa and has had the privilege of guiding students of all abilities in their success. Whether preparing high school students for college or assisting elementary age children discover the joys of reading, Michael believes that a tailored, differential-based approach to learning is key to achieving maximum academic success.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys making music in the Treasure Valley and spending time with his amazing children.

 

Erin K.

Erin K. holds a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto with Junior/Intermediate Specialist qualifications in Mathematics. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto with a major in Mathematics and Minors in English and Science. Erin has also completed additional qualification courses in Special Education, Reading, Primary Education and Kindergarten. She has worked as an Elementary Teacher with the Toronto District School Board for 18 years and has taught students from Kindergarten to grade 8. Erin believes that every student can be successful and helps them to achieve their goals by meeting students where they are at, building their confidence, and helping them move forward one step at a time. In her free time, Erin enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, baking and travelling.

Kamrun N.

Kamrun grew up in Ottawa before moving to Toronto to attend the University of Toronto, where she earned her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Biology. Shortly after graduating, she was offered a teaching position at a private school, sparking her passion for education. With over seven years of experience teaching Grades 3–8 in private schools across Toronto, she has a strong background in the Ontario curriculum. In addition to classroom teaching, Kamrun has provided one-on-one tutoring both in school and after school, helping students strengthen their skills, build confidence, and reach their academic goals. Kamrun’s teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that students should grow not only academically, but also socially, emotionally, and mentally. She creates interactive, engaging lessons that foster curiosity and joy in learning, while tailoring her teaching methods to meet each student’s unique needs and learning style. Her approachable, positive nature helps students feel comfortable and confident, and her classrooms are known for being both fun and effective. Kamrun is currently a Master of Teaching candidate at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), specializing in General Science for Junior and Intermediate grades. She also holds a CELTA certification and has taught international students in the University of Toronto’s Summer Youth Program, further broadening her experience with diverse learners from around the world. Outside of teaching, Kamrun enjoys cooking, spending time in nature, and exploring new restaurants with friends.
