ENG: David is a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student with a strong passion for teaching. Lynda is a Math and Physics teacher with 20 years of experience spanning classroom teaching, private tutoring, and Gifted and Talented programs. She has a Master’s in Physics with a concentration in Education from University of Virginia, certificate in Leaders of Learning from Harvard University, and holds teaching certificates in Math, Physics, Elementary Education, Students with Disabilities, and Middle School Science.
Lynda specializes in demystifying challenging math and physics concepts by (1) explaining concepts as clearly as possible, (2) performing examples in order to model the problem-solving process, and (3) providing several practice problems to work up to mastery. While she is a professional, Lynda enjoys conversing in a casual tone (think more Penny, less Sheldon), as math and science are often culprits for producing anxiety in students. SASHA S.
Alexandra (Sasha) graduated in October 2021 from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and is currently a teacher candidate at the University of Western Ontario’s Teacher Education program, specializing in Intermediate/Senior Science and Chemistry. Throughout her professional journey, Sasha has worked with students of all ages as a camp counselor and manager, tutor, behavioral therapist, and student teacher.
Sasha’s teaching experience includes instructing math, health, and english at the Grade 8 level, working with students transitioning from specialized classroom settings, and supporting learners in both English and French-speaking environments. With a strong STEM background, she is also striving toward earning additional teaching subject qualifications in biology, math, and physics, as well as French.
Beyond traditional classrooms, Sasha has extensive experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through her roles as a Registered Behavior Technician and Entry to School Instructor. She has developed expertise in differentiated instruction, student-centered learning, and implementing individualized education plans. Additionally, her research background in population medicine has given her valuable skills in data analysis and communication.
One of her most rewarding experiences was returning to her own elementary school as a student teacher, where she gained invaluable insights into teaching and learning. Sasha strives to create a supportive and engaging environment that fosters curiosity and confidence in her students. When she’s not teaching, Sasha enjoys hands-on science experiments, exploring new ways to make learning fun, reading books, crocheting, and cooking!

Emily B. is a passionate and dedicated tutor currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University. She combines her analytical skills with a deep commitment to helping students succeed. Growing up as a student-athlete, she learned the value of discipline, time management, and perseverance, qualities she now instills in her students.

Hong-Mei L.
Hong-Mei holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the Wharton School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Dickinson College and completed PhD coursework in chemistry. With eight years of tutoring experience, she has worked as a teaching assistant and instructor in math and chemistry. Professionally, she has managed nanotechnology, biomedical studies, and engineering programs at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University. In 2019, she represented global policy for the Major Group for Children and Youth at the United Nations and was a panelist at the Geneva Academy of Science conference 2020. A certified breathwork and meditation instructor for over 13 years, she teaches globally to help individuals reach their potential. Outside of yoga and meditation, she enjoys traveling, running, cooking, and hiking.
Vera V.
For the past 19 years, Vera has been teaching mathematics at the high school level, from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus, in some of New Jersey’s top private and public schools. She is the Central Jersey Math League director for Middlesex High School and creates curriculum on Rubicon Atlas Curriculum for Algebra 2 for the district of Middlesex.
Vera obtained an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Physics as well as a Master’s in Educational Administration from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City.
While Vera believes that students are ultimately responsible for their own learning, she sees teaching as an opportunity to inspire and motivate them in the process. Her goal is to help each student reach their highest potential by fostering a love of learning. As a passionate learner herself, Vera strives to make that enthusiasm contagious.
A successful educator recognizes the uniqueness of each student and adapts instruction to accommodate different learning styles. Creating engaging, student-centered experiences is essential to fostering curiosity and encouraging independent learning. Steven T.
Steven is an Ontario certified teacher who specializes in teaching at the senior level. He has teaching qualifications in business, geography, and special education. Although he does not have qualifications in ESL and math, he is planning on getting them in the near future as he really enjoys spending time teaching people the English language and intermediate level math (grade 9/10).
Steven majored in commerce and graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Commerce. Additionally, he received his Bachelor of Education from York University.
Steven’s passion for teaching began during his high school years as a swim instructor. He loved seeing his students progress over time and become more confident in their own abilities. The joy of helping his students overcome their fears and master new skills fueled his passion for education. Each lesson was an opportunity for growth, along with building trust and rapport.
When it comes to teaching philosophy, Steven believes that being patient along with developing a positive relationship with students is the key to success. He is passionate about teaching and always wants all of his students to succeed!
In his free time, Steven loves to play and watch sports, cook, discover new music, and play video games! Besides English, Steven can fluently speak Vietnamese and is hoping to learn more languages.
SIMRAH S.
Simrah is a dedicated fourth-year student pursuing Mathematical and Computational Sciences at the University of Toronto, Mississauga. With five years of experience tutoring students from kindergarten to grade 12, she is passionate about creating meaningful connections and empowering students to thrive academically.
Her journey as a tutor began at age 17, during her first role at a tutoring centre, where she discovered the value of mentorship over authority in fostering a positive learning experience. Having grown up in Canada, Simrah understands the unique challenges that children and young adults face in their academic journeys, enabling her to offer relatable guidance and support.

DR. A. RAHNAMA
Dr. A. Rahnama is a passionate mathematics educator with over 20 years of teaching experience at the high school, college, and university levels. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics and a Master’s in Computer Science, allowing him to provide deep insight into various mathematical topics, including Advanced Functions, Algebra, Calculus, Probability, Linear Algebra, and Statistics. Dr. Rahnama believes that mathematics is not just about solving problems but about building strong analytical skills that empower students in their academic and professional journeys.
His teaching methodology is centered around simplifying complex concepts, breaking down problems into small, manageable steps, and providing clear, structured explanations with real-world examples. He ensures that students develop confidence in their mathematical abilities by reinforcing concepts through step-by-step problem-solving. Dr. Rahnama has also taught applied math courses in data science, integrating practical applications to make learning more engaging. Whether preparing for exams or tackling challenging coursework, he creates a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged and motivated to succeed.
In his spare time, Dr. Rahnama enjoys exploring innovative teaching strategies and mentoring students in research projects. He finds great fulfillment in helping students develop a strong foundation in mathematics while gaining the confidence to tackle even the most challenging problems.
Sahil R.
Sahil is a full-time Math enthusiast and tutor. He enjoys helping middle school, high school, and college students learn Math and making each tutoring session enjoyable, interesting, and interactive!
Sahil tutors the following topics: Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and all SAT Math.
In his free time, Sahil enjoys exercising and spending time with friends and family.
