LIAM H-N.

Liam has a PhD in biophysics, a Master’s in physics, and a Bachelor’s degree in physics with a math minor, he brings a deep academic background and nearly a decade of teaching experience to his tutoring. He has worked extensively as a teaching assistant in university-level physics and computational courses, where he specialized in helping students break down complex ideas and develop true understanding through guided problem-solving. He has also mentored undergraduate research students and taught swimming to kids aged 3–12, giving him a wide range of experience working with learners of all ages.

Liam is especially excited to work with high school students in Grade 11 and 12 Physics. His approach is friendly and supportive— he likes to ask questions that help students figure things out for themselves and really build confidence. Outside of tutoring, he plays a lot of music, and loves volleyball and canoeing.

Jaden A.

Jaden graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in French. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work on research in a chemistry lab during a five-month study abroad in Strasbourg, France. Jaden has worked in teaching roles for children all her life, and she’s spent the last year teaching middle school science (6th-8th grade) at a K-12 school. She helped further develop the curricula and increased the emphasis on laboratory experiments each class, convicted to teach through hands-on experience. Whether she is teaching horseback riding or forces and work, Jaden believes that allowing students to forge their own way to understanding Nature’s laws helps them develop confidence and fires their curiosity.

 

 

AGNES S.

Agnes has a BSc from York University and has been tutoring for over 7 years in ELA, Physics, and Math for grades K-12. She believes that every child learns differently so she prioritizes individualized attention and adapts her teaching style to meet the unique goals and learning preferences of each student. Her mission is to empower students by building both the confidence and the skills necessary for success. When Agnes is not teaching or studying, she loves hiking, rock-climbing, baking and handicrafts.

At the Academy for Mathematics & English, I provided personalized support through one-on-one and small-group sessions, fostering understanding and academic growth.

At Columbia International College, I guided senior students in math, science, and business courses, assisting them in mastering course material and using digital tools effectively.

With volunteer experience in teaching English as a Second Language and experience as a teaching assistant, I excel in curriculum design, lesson planning, and personalized instruction. My dedication to tailored teaching and open communication ensures the students perpetrate meaningful progress in their academic journey.

 

 

ARSHI K.

Arshi is a dedicated pre-service teacher with a Ph.D. in Life Sciences and over 10 years of teaching experience. She is passionate about fostering student success through innovative, inclusive teaching practices. She is currently enrolled in Brock University’s Bachelor of Education program (September 2024). Arshi has experience in designing and delivering engaging lessons for diverse learners in science to foster academic independence and critical thinking through customized instruction. She has also developed personalized resources for high school students, focusing on academic success and test preparation.

 

SABRINA G.

Sabrina has been with the HWCDSB for approximately 18 years. She has a degree from McMaster University in Honours Commerce and a minor in Religion. She also studied at the University of Windsor Ontario in 2005 for 1 year and received her BEd in 2006. She can teach primary, junior, intermediate and senior levels. Sabrina is an Ontario Certified Teacher and has tutored for several years previously, she is honoured to once again be a tutor, helping children meet their academic needs.

 

 

TALHA C.

Talha C. is a dedicated researcher and educator pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) in Physiology at the University of Toronto. He holds an Honors Bachelor of Science from U of T in Neuroscience, with minors in Physiology and Biology, from which he graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.91/4.0, recent 3-year GPA of 3.96/4.0, and an MCAT score of 519/528 (96th percentile). He currently holds a 4.0/4.0 in his MSc program. His research focuses on the effects of insulin sensitizers on atherosclerosis, with expertise in advanced surgical techniques and metabolic assays. He has contributed to and co-authored multiple research projects, including studies on antipsychotic-induced metabolic dysfunction and hippocampal learning, with an abstract accepted for oral presentation at the American Diabetes Association’s 85th Scientific Sessions. Talha has secured prestigious scholarships like the Research and Health Science Education Entrance Scholarship, awarded to the top 2% of candidates entering graduate programs at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Beyond research, he is an experienced teaching assistant, supporting physiology and biomedical courses, and mentoring undergraduate students in laboratory techniques and thesis writing at the University of Toronto.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Talha has extensive experience in volunteerism, editing, and advocacy. As a hospice volunteer, he has provided compassionate care to patients, ensuring dignity and comfort in end-of-life settings. He has served as a senior copy editor for University of Toronto’s oldest student newspaper, The Varsity, managing a large team while upholding journalistic integrity on sensitive topics. His leadership extends to initiatives like the Centre for Integrative and Anti-Racism Studies, where he contributed to educational frameworks and grant applications. Passionate about community engagement, he has co-organized panels addressing homelessness, coordinated newsletters promoting equity and diversity, and raised funds for humanitarian causes. Fluent in multiple languages, like English, Urdu, and Hindi, and proficient in various research and data analysis tools, Talha is committed to bridging science, education, and advocacy to drive meaningful change.

 

 

 

Eduardo R.

Eduardo is an experienced and versatile tutor who brings both academic depth and real-world insight to every session. With an Honours BA in Economics from Brock University (where he graduated first in his class), a Master’s from Western University, and doctoral-level coursework at McGill, he has supported students across a wide range of subjects—including economics, business, accounting, mathematics (from algebra to calculus), and Spanish, his native language. He’s worked with learners from high school through to the master’s level, always adapting his approach to meet students needs and understanding where they are in their learning journey.

Over the years, Eduardo has served as a teaching assistant and lecturer at Brock, Western, and McGill, and currently works as a Manager in EY Canada’s Economic Advisory group. His teaching philosophy emphasizes clarity, curiosity, and critical thinking—encouraging students to explore the deeper meaning behind concepts and understand how ideas connect across disciplines. His approach is thoughtful and flexible, with an eye toward building confidence and long-term learning.

Outside of tutoring, Eduardo can be found cheering on Real Madrid, playing in local baseball and soccer leagues, traveling with his fiancée, or playing FIFA/EAFC. He believes that when students feel comfortable asking questions and digging into the “why,” learning becomes both meaningful and memorable.

 

Olivia B.

Olivia grew up in Ontario and earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Ottawa. With a strong academic background in the sciences and extensive experience tutoring children, she is now preparing to attend teacher’s college to pursue her passion for education.

Olivia has experience working in childcare and strives to deliver an engaging and fun learning environment tailored to each students learning style. Her approach is patient, supportive, and structured, ensuring that children feel encouraged while building essential skills for success.

Beyond teaching, Olivia has travelled all over Europe and Australia and has developed a passion for travelling. In her free time Olivia enjoys running, hiking, snowboarding and the occasional polar plunge to keep things interesting (and very cold). She is currently living full time in Whistler and taking in all the beautiful things that Whistler has to offer!

 

Leeuwin P.

Leeuwin is a qualified Health and Physical Education teacher with a minor in Mathematics. While his primary background is in HPE, Leeuwin has always believed in the value of a well-rounded education and has developed a keen ability to break down complex concepts in both Math and English. Leeuwin has a passion for supporting learners in their academic journeys, tailoring his teaching approach to each student’s individual needs. Leeuwin’s tutoring style is centered on building confidence, fostering curiosity, and helping students develop strong foundational skills that extend beyond the classroom. Outside of teaching Leeuwin enjoys spending time in the outdoors and enjoying all that the Sea to Sky has to offer.
