ROSEMARY K.
Rosemary K. is a dedicated NYC public school educator with more than 25 years of teaching and tutoring experience, specializing in history, government, and writing instruction. She earned her B.A. in History and English from Binghamton University, an M.A. in History from Rice University, and an M.P.A. from Teachers College Columbia University. Rosemary also proudly served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zimbabwe, an experience that strengthened her passion for cultural understanding and global education.
In preparing students for AP and Regents exams, Rosemary incorporates standardized test materials and proven strategies to ensure students feel confident, prepared, and capable of achieving success.
Ryan C.
Ryan graduated on the Dean’s List from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Business Administration. Fueled by a passion for problem solving, and just a little too much Lego growing up, Ryan is currently pursing a sequential degree in Mechatronic Systems Engineering (robotics engineering), also at Western University. Ryan started his teaching journey at the age of 16 as a camp counsellor, helping campers learn the basics of canoeing, rock climbing, archery, and woodworking! He worked as a camp counsellor until his second year of university, and where he grew his teaching experiences by offering his peers review sessions as a way to prepare himself for his own exams. Ryan has been professionally tutoring students at both the university and high school level since 2023 focussing primarily on first year engineering students. Ryan’s most tutored subject is computer science, probably because he got a perfect 100% in first year CS, but also has plenty of experience teaching business, physics and math courses. Ryan has always enjoyed teaching youth and young adults and feels a lot of pride watching them grow along their academic journeys.
JAMES R.
James is a current Master of Teaching student at University of Toronto. He has an Honours Bachelor of Science and specializes in Mathematics and English education.
Deborah K.
With 26 years of experience teaching middle and high school mathematics, Debbie is passionate about helping students build confidence and become stronger problem solvers. She has taught nearly every secondary math course and currently works as a math coach in Sarasota County, supporting both teachers and students in developing meaningful math understanding.
Debbie earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a concentration in Education as well as her Master’s degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Education. She specializes in breaking down challenging concepts into manageable steps and creating engaging, hands-on lessons that help students make connections and feel more confident in math.
In addition to classroom instruction, Debbie has extensive experience preparing students for the ACT, SAT, CLT, and Florida EOCs for Algebra 1 and Geometry. She believes every student can succeed in math with the right guidance, encouragement, and strategies. Her favorite part of tutoring is helping students reach those “aha” moments that build both understanding and confidence.
Outside of education, Debbie loves exploring hiking trails with her family and curling up with a great book while her dog, Maui, keeps her company.
Brian M.
Brian is a Junior/Intermediate educator with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Junior/Intermediate Education (Science) from Tyndale University, a Bachelor of Science (Honours Science, Minor in Biology) from University of Waterloo, a Business Management Certificate from York University, and Special Education Part 1 Additional Qualifications. He achieved a 3.8 GPA during his teacher education program and was recognized as a recipient of a science teaching award for excellence in science education.
Brian has extensive experience teaching and tutoring mathematics, including serving as a Math Teacher at Spirit of Math Schools, where he instructed over 120 students annually across Grades 5-8 and maintained strong communication with families regarding student progress. He also has experience as a math tutor and peer tutor supporting students in mathematics and science.
Through practicum placements in Grades 5, 7, and 8, Brian designed Ontario curriculum-aligned lessons, collaborated with associate teachers, implemented differentiated instruction, and fostered inclusive, inquiry-based learning environments that support student engagement and achievement. He is also an active lector and parish volunteer at St. Andre Bessette Church.
Cynthia S.
Cynthia is a Certified Academic Language Therapist who works with students in grades 1–9, providing dyslexia therapy and individualized reading instruction. Her teaching journey began at Louisiana Key Academy Northshore, where she spent two years teaching Social Studies Composition to 3rd graders and Structured Language Arts to 3rd and 5th graders.
Her commitment to literacy is deeply personal. When her child was diagnosed with dyslexia, Cynthia, who also has dyslexia, immersed herself in learning everything she could about effective reading instruction. This led her to pursue IMSLEC‑accredited training and ultimately earn her CALT certification through ALTA in February 2026.
Cynthia is also an author. Her poetry collection, Present Peace, explores her connection to nature and her search for her authentic voice. She also writes Mom poetry and is using her CALT certification to write decodable readers for older students.
Before becoming an educator, Cynthia built a successful career in accounting, earning her CPA license and working for Deloitte & Touche, LLP and PoolCorp. She holds an M.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University and a B.B.A. in Accounting with a psychology concentration from Millsaps College.
Outside of working with students, she enjoys time with her family and is currently developing a middle‑grade werewolf series using graphic organizers.
CHERYL P.
Cheryl P. is an Ontario College of Teachers member in good standing with more than 25 years of experience supporting students, families, and educators within the public education system. She holds a Diploma in Education from Queen’s University and a Special Education Specialist qualification from York University. Cheryl also holds certifications in VTRA (Violent Threat Risk Assessment), Mental Health First Aid, and Suicide First Aid.
Throughout her career, Cheryl served the in the public secondary education system as a classroom teacher, Special Education Specialist, and Department Head of Special Education / Inclusive Services for 11 years.
Cheryl has extensive experience supporting students with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, mental health challenges, behavioural needs, and complex learning profiles. She collaborated closely with administrators, guidance teams, psychologists, CYWs, social workers, and community agencies to develop individualized strategies that supported student success and well-being.
As the founder of Insight to Impact, Cheryl is deeply committed to helping students and families navigate educational challenges with clarity, advocacy, and confidence.
Mirella C.
Mirella is a Spanish and Italian tutor and educator with more than 20 years of experience helping students build confidence in language learning. She holds a Master’s degree in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. Mirella has worked with students of all ages, from elementary school through college, in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
Known for her patient and encouraging approach, Mirella creates a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, practicing conversation, and learning at their own pace. She tailors each session to the student’s individual needs, whether they need support with grammar, conversation, reading comprehension, homework, or test preparation.
Mirella believes language learning should feel approachable and engaging, not stressful. She enjoys bringing culture, conversation, and real-world examples into her lessons to help students feel more connected to the language and more confident using it every day.
Romy R.
Romy is a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) with over 10 years of experience supporting children, teens, and families across a variety of learning and developmental needs. She is passionate about helping learners build confidence and enjoys supporting caregivers with practical strategies that create meaningful change in everyday life.
Romy’s approach is compassionate, practical, and grounded in evidence-based strategies. She values collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams to create positive, supportive experiences and believes meaningful progress happens when everyone works together to build on a learner’s unique strengths.
MADDISON M.
Maddison graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Behaviour, and a Minor in English and Cultural Studies. She also concurrently completed her Diploma in Early Childhood Education at Mohawk College, and she taught in a Montessori school’s Toddler and Preschool rooms shortly after. In 2026, she will be graduating from OISE (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education) at the University of Toronto with a Masters of Education in the Intermediate/Senior grade levels. Throughout her life, Maddison has developed a deep passion for working with young children and guiding them to reach their full potential. In recent years, this has expanded to a love for working with older students to refine their skills and hlp them engage critically with the work they complete. Maddison truly believes that engaging students using their curiosity and interests is crucial in helping them gain the confidence they require to succeed. In her spare time, Maddison enjoys reading, journalling, and thrifting, as well as spending time with her friends at cafes or new restaurants, or taking time to visit family.
