ASHLEY C.
Ashley is a teacher candidate at Lakehead University – she will be an Ontario Certified Teacher this spring when she completes her Bachelor of Education. Ashley teaches Primary & Junior grades and is competent with Math, Literacy, Science & Social Studies to G6 and Language to G8. Her Undergraduate degree is in History/Geography from the University of Western Ontario and she also tutors History & Geography at high school levels. Ashley has always known she wanted to be a teacher and has a passion for making students feel more confident in their abilities. She believes that by forming strong relationships with her students, she is better able to meet their academic needs. Outside the classroom, Ashley loves to travel, experience the outdoors, arts & crafts and spending time with her cats.
Richard F.
Richard F. is a STEM educator and, since 2023, a one-to-one learning specialist at Fusion Academy, a premier 1-to-1 private school in Malvern, PA. There, he delivers highly personalized instruction in math, science, and executive-function skills. He has extensive experience supporting neurodivergent learners, including those with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.
Richard holds a biotechnology degree from Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ), where he won multiple scholarships and earned Deans List honors. He served as a teaching assistant for Ethics in Science under Julie Fagan and as a research assistant in social psychology under Stephen Kilianski and in biochemistry under William Belden. Before entering education, Richard worked as a scientist and engineer in the pharmaceutical and biomedical sector for companies including Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Sanofi, and Penn Medicine. Richard served as the Environmental Monitoring Program Lead for UPenn’s CRISPR immunotherapy laboratories under Carl June and Bruce Levine and supported the COVID-19 vaccine emergency release at Johnson & Johnson. He also completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training with Lockheed Martin and served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Northern New Jersey Chapter of APICS.
Outside of the classroom, Richard is an award-winning competitive powerlifter and poker player. He has competed against some of the world’s top professional poker players on internationally viewed live-stream broadcasts, including Doug Polk’s The Lodge (2022), applying performance psychology, probability-based thinking, and disciplined decision-making to his teaching approach. He also plays piano and sings, having performed internationally and at Carnegie Hall on multiple occasions with the Nutley High School music program. Richard has appeared in several amateur high school and college stage productions including The Wiz, Pirates of Penzance, and Made in the Philippines. He has also appeared as a guest musician featured on Hong Kong’s Regal Airport social media channels.
Alessandra S.
Alessandra is a Teacher Candidate completing her first year of the Bachelors of Education program at Lakehead University. She holds an undergraduate degree in English Literature with a specialization in Education, providing her with a strong academic foundation in literary studies as well as a solid pedagogical foundation.
Alessandra is deeply committed to literacy education and believes that strong reading, writing, and communication skills are fundamental to student success across all subject areas and in everyday life. She views literacy not only as an academic skill, but as a tool for empowerment, critical thinking, and meaningful participation in society. Her goal is to support students in reaching their full academic potential while fostering confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
She understands that meaningful learning occurs when students are actively engaged and see relevance in what they are studying. As such, Alessandra prioritizes student-centered instruction, differentiated learning opportunities, and creative approaches that make complex concepts accessible and engaging. She strives to build supportive learning environments where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow.
In addition to her studies, Alessandra works as an Occasional Supply Teacher with the Durham Catholic District School Board. Through this role, she has gained valuable experience implementing the Ontario Curriculum across diverse classroom settings. She is committed to inclusive education and aims to ensure that instruction is accessible, equitable, and responsive to the different strengths and needs of all learners.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Alessandra enjoys listening to rock music, travelling, knitting sweaters, and ice skating. She has had two of her short stories published, and aspires to one day write and publish her own novel, continuing to cultivate and share her passion for storytelling and literature.
Aaron C.
Aaron C. is a Carnegie Mellon University Mechanical Engineering graduate who currently applies his quantitative skills as an equity research analyst for a prop trading firm at the World Trade Center. With a strong commitment to education, Aaron demystifies the rigors of STEM for his students, offering expert, one-on-one tutoring in everything from trigonometry and basic coding to advanced AP Calculus. He is dedicated to helping students bridge the gap between abstract mathematical theory and practical, everyday problem-solving. A man of diverse talents, Aaron is also a dedicated writer with a background in vocal performance; in his spare time, he enjoys proving that engineers can indeed carry a tune.
Quinn B.
Graduating in the of Spring 2026 from the University of Toronto, Quinn B. is pursuing a Honours Bachelor’s of Arts Degree with a double major in Political Science and Art History, as well as a minor in Sociology. Oringinally from Scarborough, Ontario, Quinn has nearly four years of tutoring experience and is passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve academic success. She focuses on developing strong relationships with her students and adapting her strategies to ensure they meet every students individual needs.
During high school, Quinn co-founded her school’s Peer Tutoring Program and received seven academic awards, including the Lamp of Learning Award and the award for highest academic standing in Grade 12 English. In her spare time, Quinn loves to play volleyball, play with her cat Kippy, workout, and spend time with her friends and family.
Miriam H.
Miriam is an educator with a strong academic foundation and growing experience in both English and French‑language science education. She holds a Master of Education from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, and she will begin the Professional Development Program (PDP) at Simon Fraser University this fall as she works toward becoming a certified secondary teacher in British Columbia. She has C1 proficiency in French and is preparing to teach secondary science in French Immersion, combining her scientific background with advanced language skills to support bilingual learners.
In Vancouver, Miriam has been volunteering in a Grade 9 Science classroom at a public high school, where she supports students in developing confidence, curiosity, and clear understanding of foundational scientific concepts. Working closely with learners in both English and French has strengthened her ability to explain complex ideas in accessible, engaging ways.
Jimmy L.
Jimmy is a third-year Kinesiology and Health Science student at York University with a strong academic record, maintaining a 3.91 GPA and earning recognition for academic excellence. His studies emphasize human physiology, biomechanics, anatomy, and evidence-based approaches to health and performance, providing him with a solid foundation in senior-level science aligned with Ontario curriculum expectations.
Through his academic work and leadership experiences, Jimmy has developed a strong interest in student-centred learning and clear, structured instruction. He has supported senior science students in subjects such as Grade 12 Chemistry and regularly assists peers in mastering complex material. These experiences have strengthened his ability to communicate challenging concepts in accessible ways, adapt to different learning styles, and foster confidence and independent thinking.
Jimmy is passionate about helping students connect classroom theory to real-world applications in movement, sport, and health science. Outside of academics, he enjoys watching documentaries on marine life, dinosaurs, and space, reflecting his curiosity and enthusiasm for lifelong learning.
Todd P.
Todd P. is a highly experienced science and test preparation specialist with nearly two decades of experience in education. Since beginning his career in 2006, he has taught Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and AP Physics, helping students develop deep conceptual understanding and lasting confidence in challenging subjects.
In addition to his classroom teaching, Todd has served as a content coordinator for both Judson ISD and Houston ISD, giving him strong insight into curriculum standards, assessment design, and academic expectations across grade levels.

Seema M.
Seema brings forth a wealth of teaching experience. With over 25 years of service for the TDSB and private tutoring institutions, Seema has worked with students of varying levels in both elementary and secondary capacities. Graduating from UofT with an honours specialist degree in Chemistry and French, and a Bachelor’s of Education degree from Queen’s University Seema seamlessly moves between subjects within the Ontario curriculum. In her spare time she is a freelance writer and director who has contributed articles to literary journals and produced documentary films for the National Film Board of Canada.
Martine H.
She is a native French speaker and speaks Spanish too. She has 20 years of experience tutoring all levels of French and beginning Spanish. She has relatives in both France and Switzerland and friends all over Europe. She spent 2 years in Madrid, Spain, living with a Spanish family there during her university years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from San Francisco State University and she has an Emergency Teaching Credential from the state of California.
Her teaching approach emphasizes real world communication, cultural understanding, and personalized instruction tailored to each student’s goals, whether for academic achievement, travel, professional advancement or personal enrichment.
She creates her own lessons tailored for the students’ needs.
