Mackenzie B.

Mackenzie is a licensed Reading Specialist with a Master’s Degree in Reading Education and is currently working on a Dyslexia Certificate—because who said learning stops after a degree or two? With 8 years of experience in education, including both teaching and leadership roles, Mackenzie has mastered the art of making reading not just a skill, but an adventure!

Believing that reading should be as fun as it is educational, Mackenzie uses a blend of evidence-based strategies, games, and a whole lot of enthusiasm to help students build essential reading skills while developing a lifelong love for reading. Every session is personalized to match your child’s unique needs, ensuring that each lesson feels like it was designed just for them (because it is!).

When Mackenzie isn’t helping students unlock the wonders of reading, you’ll find her sipping on a strong cup of coffee, spending time with her beloved pug, traveling to explore new places (especially national parks!), or indulging in all things pop culture—whether it’s video games, movies, or anything related to the worlds of entertainment. After a year-long adventure in Hawaii, Mackenzie hit the open road for a cross-country road trip, discovering all the beauty this country has to offer, before finding her way back to Georgia. With a deep love for both literacy and life, Mackenzie is excited to bring fun and a touch of adventure to your child’s reading journey.

PHIOLA M.

Phiola M. taught both middle and high school mathematics for 19 years in the New York City Public and Charter School systems. Most of her experience in the past ten years has been in NYS Regents Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 classrooms and she has taught all grade levels from 8th grade to 12th. Phiola also taught coding for 5 years and developed a curriculum for incoming 9th graders. Phiola tutors after school and brings all of her knowledge about Regents preparation, conceptual undersatnding and calculator use to her sessions. Her motto is “Math is my Gift, Teaching is my Passion! Helping society to cultivate inquisitive math students is my vocation.”

Holly is a friendly and professional tutor, eager to make learning fun for all students. Holly received her undergraduate degree(s) in Psychology and Thanatology from The University of Western Ontario and her Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University. She is qualified to teach primary, junior, and intermediate grades, across all subjects.

Nivedita J.

Nivedita is a seasoned educator and scientist with extensive experience as a researcher in both academia and the R&D industry. She has actively contributed to the academic community as an editorial board member for several prestigious research journals, serving as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE and a Reviewer for Frontiers in Analytical Science and Acta Biochimica Polonica. Additionally, she holds a volunteer position of Advisory Board Member serving for the U.S. Pharmacopeia in Rockville, MD. She is skilled and certified in MSDE – Early Childhood Education. Academically, she holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, complemented by five years of postdoctoral research experience, resulting in internationally recognized publications. In her previous role, she worked as a Scientist in an R&D team specializing in Novel Biologics and Biosimilars. Currently, she is a lead teacher dedicated to fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young learners. She is deeply committed to teaching, guided by her belief in the power of play, sharing, and fun. She prioritizes quality, health, and development while encouraging imagination, a love for books, and a spirit of helping. Her approach integrates creativity, exploration, and kindness, emphasizing nutrition, curiosity, and engagement. She fosters persistence, vocabulary development, and critical thinking skills in children. Yetunde A.

Yetunde is a French instructor with over 35 years teaching experience in the international setting. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and a Masters in ESL, her experience spans working within a classroom setting and personalized one-on-one lessons.
She started her teaching career at the Alliance Française, the largest and oldest network of French language and cultural centers in the world (founded in 1883 in Paris), working with professionals, students, and stay at home parents.
She has a proven track record of 32 years working with Elementary and Middle school students at the American International School of Lagos, Nigeria.
Her experience also includes working with high school students at The Academy of The Holy Cross in Kensington, MD.
As a seasoned, passionate and dedicated educator, she thrives in lively, engaging classrooms and enjoys making learning fun.
She is a hands-on teacher who creates a stimulating and interactive learning environment where students are both challenged and inspired.
Her goal is to motivate and support every child, encouraging them to persevere and achieve their full potential.
She touches the lives of her students, young and old, beginners through advanced, and delights in being a part of their French language adventure.

Michelle B.

As a seasoned teacher and tutor with years of classroom, small group, and one-to-one experience, Michelle understands the importance of working with a student’s individuality and needs to build self-esteem to foster learning using their unique strengths. There are many approaches to solve a problem. Her job is to find the approach that works for each student. Michelle takes pride in connecting with them and getting them to understand that they are capable of getting to their goal. She loves to travel, and feels it enhances perspective. She uses this approach in her teaching. Outside of the classroom, Michelle’s favorite hobby is refinishing furniture; changing something dirty and dusty, left at the curb into a shining new treasure. Sometimes a little elbow grease is all you need to see the potential in something!

Emma L.

Emma has a an Honours Bachelors of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master’s degree in Teaching from University of Toronto. Emma is OCT Certified and has experience teaching both in and out of the classroom. She is qualified to teach any subjects from kindergarten up to grade 6.

Emma is passionate about student advocacy and teaching students how they learn best. She was tutored as a child, and this experience has motivated her to become an educator herself. Emma strives to create an enjoyable learning environment by bringing student interests into schooling. Her dedication to social-emotional learning provides a holistic approach teaching, paying close attention to students emotions throughout instructional time.

During her spare time, Emma loves to journal, paint, make bracelets, and try different walking trails around Toronto.

Carly K.

Carly Kiess is a K–8 literacy specialist with over ten years of experience helping students become confident, capable readers and writers. She has worked as a teacher, principal, and instructional coach, and now partners with schools to improve reading instruction across classrooms. Carly has coached dozens of teachers and school leaders to strengthen their literacy practices—and in every role, she’s helped students make real academic gains, including significant jumps in reading proficiency. She holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and is trained in programs like CKLA, UFLI, Fundations, and Heggerty. Carly is known for building strong relationships with students and families, and for designing lessons that make reading click. Parents appreciate her calm, clear approach and her ability to meet kids right where they are—while helping them reach the next level. While she’s not working, Carly enjoys spending time with her children, running, and sampling the best pastries in Philadelphia.

Caitlin G.

Caitlin G. is a passionate and experienced educator with over six years of teaching experience and a passion for helping students shine. She has taught grades 3–8 and brings a strong background in K–4 math, ELA, science, and social studies, along with a special love for middle school reading and writing. In addition to her classroom work, Caitlin has years of tutoring experience and has led everything from summer learning programs to theater games at camp—always finding creative ways to make learning fun and meaningful. Whether she’s helping a student build confidence in reading or master tricky math, Caitlin brings patience, humor, and a deep belief in every child’s potential. When she’s not teaching, you’ll probably find her at a local theater, exploring a new hiking trail, or trying to keep her plants alive (with mixed success).

Jaden A.

Jaden graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in French. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work on research in a chemistry lab during a five-month study abroad in Strasbourg, France. Jaden has worked in teaching roles for children all her life, and she’s spent the last year teaching middle school science (6th-8th grade) at a K-12 school. She helped further develop the curricula and increased the emphasis on laboratory experiments each class, convicted to teach through hands-on experience. Whether she is teaching horseback riding or forces and work, Jaden believes that allowing students to forge their own way to understanding Nature’s laws helps them develop confidence and fires their curiosity.
