Coach Dave is a certified Executive Function Coach and licensed
Comprehensive Special Education Teacher with a speciality in literacy.

In his coaching role, Coach Dave provides support to help students improve
their working memory and overcome challenges like procrastination and
disorganization. By utilizing data-driven strategies, he reduces anxiety
and equips students with essential skills in time management,
prioritization, and effective study techniques that they can use in their
lives.

With his experience as a former Learning Support Teacher and Head of
Department at the Frankfurt International School, a teacher in New York and
Connecticut, Coach Dave has a proven track record in improving executive
functioning and literacy skills in students with all kinds of minds. He has
inspired educators at conferences across Europe and the USA, sharing
innovative co-teaching principles that foster inclusive classrooms.

For fun, Coach Dave loves athletics and the arts. He has appeared in
regional theater and coached Varsity Softball and Middle School Basketball,
which highlights his commitment to a well-rounded education.

Jennifer R.

Jennifer has been engaging students in grades kindergarten through eight for the past 25 years, retiring this past school year. Although only in retirement for two days, she already missed the students and the love of teaching and learning.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, while minoring in English and Social Science. She holds Elementary Education Grades K-6 & English Grades 5-9 certifications in Florida. She achieved her Master of Arts degree in Teaching & Learning, as well as in Curriculum and Instruction, and is certified in professional development. She also holds endorsements in English As a Second Language as well as in the area of Gifted and Talented education.

As all of this education is essential to understanding the techniques and strategies that help to connect and teach students in the most successful way, the experience and relationship building she prides herself on, is really what makes this educator most qualified. Jennifer has worked with all levels of learners, ie: those with ADHD, LD, as well as those on the gifted or high achiever end of their learning. In her last position, she was the head of the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) committee, enabling her to continually keep up with the latest changes and trends with our youth and in our world. She strives to entertain, while stimulating students’ learning.  She shows enthusiasm, is flexible, and expressive. Students with whom she works, feel inspired, welcome, challenged, and engaged. Jennifer is a teacher who believes in educating the whole child, seeking out his or her strengths and interests, not just the areas needing improvement. She connects with children and makes them feel heard and important. She would be an asset in any learning environment.

Mae J.

Jiawen (Mae) J. is a graduate student in Education at the University of Pennsylvania with strong experience in tutoring and classroom teaching. She has taught Mandarin to youth learners in the U.S. and has delivered over 200 hours of personalized one-on-one lessons to international students. She also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Peking University, where she supported students in mastering complex concepts through interactive and engaging resources. Mae believes in creating individualized lessons that build student confidence and curiosity. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, playing the pipa, swimming, and traveling.

TASFIA A.

Tasfia is an experienced STEM tutor with over four years of tutoring experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, specializing in secondary and post-secondary mathematics and sciences. She has worked with more than 100 students across diverse curricula, including the Ontario curriculum, International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), Danforth’s MaST, and Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs. Tasfia has extensive experience supporting students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), skillfully adapting her teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure comprehensive understanding and skill mastery. She is a compassionate, friendly, and adaptive educator with a special interest in cognitive psychology who approaches learning from a trauma-informed perspective.

 

ALICE V.

Alice is an educator with seven years of teaching experience, primarily working with students with learning disabilities. She uses a scaffolded, multi-sensory approach to teaching and specializes in supporting struggling readers and writers of all ages. She attended Sarah Lawrence College for undergrad and Bard College for her Masters in Teaching.

Gabriella V.

Hi there! I’m Gabriella, a teacher candidate in my final year of Brock University’s Concurrent Education program, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies and a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior). I believe in a learning by doing philosophy and fostering a growth mindset to create an inclusive, welcoming environment where students thrive and reach their full potential. I’m open to teaching any K-6 subject, although I have experience teaching math and language at Brock Learning Lab and in a Peel District School Board classroom.

As a lifelong learner, I’m passionate about inspiring student growth. I enjoy spending time with friends and family and going on walks. I’m excited to bring enthusiasm and personalized support to help your child excel!

QUENNIE G.

Quennie is a French native speaker from Montreal who is passionate about helping students build confidence in both French and English. She graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Education and is currently a French Immersion teacher with the Toronto District School Board, where she teaches Grade 2/3. Quennie has furthered her learning by obtaining a Specialist in French as a Second Language Pedagogy and completing Additional Qualification courses in Mathematics Pedagogy. She has experience supporting students in literacy, including phonics and reading recovery in both French and English and has worked with learners of varying needs and abilities. Quennie values the importance of language learning as a bridge to new opportunities and perspectives, and she enjoys making lessons engaging, interactive, and tailored to each students’ strengths.

When she’s not in the classroom, Quennie enjoys travelling to new destinations, discovering new restaurants in the city, staying active at the gym, and exploring her interests in fashion and beauty.

Sophia M.

Sophia is an undergraduate student at Concordia University, pursuing a degree in Biology. She is a graduate of Marianopolis College, where she studied Psychology and earned a Certificate with Distinction in Environmental Studies. Her academic path began at Royal Vale High School, where she developed a strong interest in the sciences.
In addition to her academic achievements, Sophia has gained meaningful experience working with children as a camp counselor since 2023. There, she was responsible for leading group activities, cultivating a supportive and engaging environment and fostering their social growth. Through this role, she developed strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills, along with the ability to adapt her approach to suit different learning styles.
Her background in both psychology and biology provides Sophia with a unique perspective on education. She understands the importance of motivation and learning strategies while also being able to explain challenging concepts in a clear and approachable way. She is committed to helping students build not only academic skills, but also confidence and curiosity that extend beyond the classroom.
Sophia’s combination of academic knowledge, relevant experience with children and passion for educating in an engaging manner, makes her a dedicated and supportive tutor. She is eager to help students achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

Tracey K.

Hello! My name is Tracey and I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential. I am currently in my final year of the Concurrent Bachelor of Education (BEd) program at York University, specializing in Primary/Junior Education (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6). I also hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, which has given me a deep understanding of how children learn and develop. This knowledge allows me to apply psychological principles to teaching, ensuring that each child receives individualized strategies that suit their learning style.
In addition to my studies, I work as a supply teacher and have extensive experience tutoring students in a variety of subjects. I am confident in teaching all subjects from JK to Grade 6, with a particular specialization in French. Having attended a French school my entire life and currently supplying in French classrooms, I bring a strong foundation in language learning and can help students develop both their written and oral French skills with confidence.
I believe that every child learns differently, and my background in psychology helps me identify their unique strengths while addressing areas that need improvement. My goal is to make learning enjoyable, meaningful, and tailored to each student’s needs.
