ERIN D.
Erin holds a Bachelor of Education with Primary and Junior qualifications, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University. She has over three years of teaching experience in London, England, including two years as a kindergarten teacher with experience in phonics instruction and early reading development. This background allows her to support students in building strong literacy foundations, developing reading confidence, and strengthening essential communication skills at an early age.
Erin is currently an occasional teacher with the Toronto District School Board, where she works with students across a variety of grade levels and learning needs. Combining her education background with her studies in psychology, she creates supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environments tailored to each student’s individual strengths and goals.
Abhinav M.
Abhinav M, is an undergraduate Science student at the University of British Columbia, attending on a $110,000 UBC Schulich Leader and Presidential Scholarship. He completed his International Baccalaureate Diploma with a score of 44/45, placing in the 99th percentile globally, and achieved an SAT score of 1560.
Abhinav has extensive teaching experience, having instructed and mentored over 250 students from grades K-12. Working with community based organizations, non-profits, and local school divisions, he has designed engaging curricula and provided tailored, one-on-one support for early learners, students with disabilities, and group students.
In addition to his educational background, Abhinav is an active scientific researcher with past experiences at the University of Saskatchewan and UBC Biomedical Engineering. In his free time, he is a TEDx speaker and competes in debate at an international level.
Sana A.
Sana A. holds a joint degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Simon Fraser University. She has experience tutoring students from elementary to high school levels in mathematics, science, and English. Sana focuses on creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment while helping students build confidence and strengthen their problem-solving skills. She has worked with students in subjects including Pre-Calculus, Foundations of Math, Chemistry, and Physics, and enjoys adapting her teaching style to each student’s learning needs.
Deborah K.
With 26 years of experience teaching middle and high school mathematics, Debbie is passionate about helping students build confidence and become stronger problem solvers. She has taught nearly every secondary math course and currently works as a math coach in Sarasota County, supporting both teachers and students in developing meaningful math understanding.
Debbie earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a concentration in Education as well as her Master’s degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Education. She specializes in breaking down challenging concepts into manageable steps and creating engaging, hands-on lessons that help students make connections and feel more confident in math.
In addition to classroom instruction, Debbie has extensive experience preparing students for the ACT, SAT, CLT, and Florida EOCs for Algebra 1 and Geometry. She believes every student can succeed in math with the right guidance, encouragement, and strategies. Her favorite part of tutoring is helping students reach those “aha” moments that build both understanding and confidence.
Outside of education, Debbie loves exploring hiking trails with her family and curling up with a great book while her dog, Maui, keeps her company.
Cynthia S.
Cynthia is a Certified Academic Language Therapist who works with students in grades 1–9, providing dyslexia therapy and individualized reading instruction. Her teaching journey began at Louisiana Key Academy Northshore, where she spent two years teaching Social Studies Composition to 3rd graders and Structured Language Arts to 3rd and 5th graders.
Her commitment to literacy is deeply personal. When her child was diagnosed with dyslexia, Cynthia, who also has dyslexia, immersed herself in learning everything she could about effective reading instruction. This led her to pursue IMSLEC‑accredited training and ultimately earn her CALT certification through ALTA in February 2026.
Cynthia is also an author. Her poetry collection, Present Peace, explores her connection to nature and her search for her authentic voice. She also writes Mom poetry and is using her CALT certification to write decodable readers for older students.
Before becoming an educator, Cynthia built a successful career in accounting, earning her CPA license and working for Deloitte & Touche, LLP and PoolCorp. She holds an M.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University and a B.B.A. in Accounting with a psychology concentration from Millsaps College.
Outside of working with students, she enjoys time with her family and is currently developing a middle‑grade werewolf series using graphic organizers.
CHERYL P.
Cheryl P. is an Ontario College of Teachers member in good standing with more than 25 years of experience supporting students, families, and educators within the public education system. She holds a Diploma in Education from Queen’s University and a Special Education Specialist qualification from York University. Cheryl also holds certifications in VTRA (Violent Threat Risk Assessment), Mental Health First Aid, and Suicide First Aid.
Throughout her career, Cheryl served the in the public secondary education system as a classroom teacher, Special Education Specialist, and Department Head of Special Education / Inclusive Services for 11 years.
Cheryl has extensive experience supporting students with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, mental health challenges, behavioural needs, and complex learning profiles. She collaborated closely with administrators, guidance teams, psychologists, CYWs, social workers, and community agencies to develop individualized strategies that supported student success and well-being.
As the founder of Insight to Impact, Cheryl is deeply committed to helping students and families navigate educational challenges with clarity, advocacy, and confidence.
Mirella C.
Mirella is a Spanish and Italian tutor and educator with more than 20 years of experience helping students build confidence in language learning. She holds a Master’s degree in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. Mirella has worked with students of all ages, from elementary school through college, in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
Known for her patient and encouraging approach, Mirella creates a relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, practicing conversation, and learning at their own pace. She tailors each session to the student’s individual needs, whether they need support with grammar, conversation, reading comprehension, homework, or test preparation.
Mirella believes language learning should feel approachable and engaging, not stressful. She enjoys bringing culture, conversation, and real-world examples into her lessons to help students feel more connected to the language and more confident using it every day.
Romy R.
Romy is a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) with over 10 years of experience supporting children, teens, and families across a variety of learning and developmental needs. She is passionate about helping learners build confidence and enjoys supporting caregivers with practical strategies that create meaningful change in everyday life.
Romy’s approach is compassionate, practical, and grounded in evidence-based strategies. She values collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams to create positive, supportive experiences and believes meaningful progress happens when everyone works together to build on a learner’s unique strengths.
ELLIOTT D.
Elliott is a student at McMaster University, where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics with Co-op, with minors in Nuclear Engineering and Economics. He has a cumulative GPA of 10.43 on the 12-point GPA scale (equivalent to 3.86 on the 4-point scale) after second year. He graduated from St. Michael’s Choir School (SMCS) with a 96% average, as a deeply valued member of the school community. Elliott has extensive experience teaching, counselling, and mentoring others. He was President of the SMCS Tutoring Club, where he tutored students and connected students with other tutors, and Assistant Coach to the SMCS Junior Volleyball team, where he helped to train and coach younger athletes. As a child, Elliott spent his summers in Algonquin Park at Camp Arowhon, first as a camper, then as a Leader In Training, and Camp Counsellor where he was responsible for the safety, social cohesion, and individual development of children aged 6 to 15. He also taught Archery and Rock Climbing, and acted as Section Head In Training, where he mentored and coached junior coworkers. At McMaster University, Elliott works as a Community Advisor, where he mentors first year students to support their social, mental, and academic success in their university journey.
In his free time, Elliott enjoys many hobbies. He has a deep love of music, both classical and contemporary, that he has nurtured since his elementary and high school days, where he was a member of his school’s esteemed choir. He has practiced Kempo Karate since age four and is a black belt with Horizon Martial Arts in the Beaches, and continues to enjoy climbing and archery from his time at summer camp. He is a hobby chef and loves making delicious food for his loved ones to enjoy. Elliott is guided by his deep passions – learning, nurturing others, enacting positive change in the world, and many more. Among other things, these passions have led him to voraciously consume literature and media on a variety of subjects, especially mathematics and physics, and have fueled his future career aspirations in clean energy through nuclear engineering. Elliott is an exemplary student and is comfortable tutoring in English, Biology, and Chemistry at the high school level, and Mathematics, Engineering, and Physics at both the high school and first year university levels.
RayShon R.
RayShon is a middle school educator and tutor based in San Diego with experience teaching both math and history in Title I schools. He is passionate about helping students develop a growth mindset, strengthen critical thinking skills, and build confidence in their ability to learn and succeed. He holds a Master’s in Education and a degree in Audio Production, and is currently pursuing graduate studies in Marriage and Family Therapy. His background in both education and counseling has deepened his understanding of communication, learning differences, and the importance of meeting students where they are.
RayShon enjoys making learning engaging and meaningful through creativity, discussion, and real world connections. His goal is to help students feel supported, capable, and motivated both inside and outside the classroom. Outside of teaching, RayShon enjoys music production, writing, exploring creativity through art, and spending time with his wife and three children. He especially enjoys listening to music with his family and having spontaneous dance parties around the house.
