Olivia B.

Olivia grew up in Ontario and earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Ottawa. With a strong academic background in the sciences and extensive experience tutoring children, she is now preparing to attend teacher’s college to pursue her passion for education.

Olivia has experience working in childcare and strives to deliver an engaging and fun learning environment tailored to each students learning style. Her approach is patient, supportive, and structured, ensuring that children feel encouraged while building essential skills for success.

Beyond teaching, Olivia has travelled all over Europe and Australia and has developed a passion for travelling. In her free time Olivia enjoys running, hiking, snowboarding and the occasional polar plunge to keep things interesting (and very cold). She is currently living full time in Whistler and taking in all the beautiful things that Whistler has to offer!

 

Leeuwin P.

Leeuwin is a qualified Health and Physical Education teacher with a minor in Mathematics. While his primary background is in HPE, Leeuwin has always believed in the value of a well-rounded education and has developed a keen ability to break down complex concepts in both Math and English. Leeuwin has a passion for supporting learners in their academic journeys, tailoring his teaching approach to each student’s individual needs. Leeuwin’s tutoring style is centered on building confidence, fostering curiosity, and helping students develop strong foundational skills that extend beyond the classroom. Outside of teaching Leeuwin enjoys spending time in the outdoors and enjoying all that the Sea to Sky has to offer.

 

 

Dr. Salma S.

Dr. Salma Siddiqui, a passionate and dynamic Chemistry educator with a Ph.D. in Chemistry, brings over seventeen years of teaching and research experience at the college and university level. Known for turning even the most challenging scientific concepts into engaging, relatable lessons, she offers not only deep subject knowledge but also warmth, clarity, and enthusiasm in every session. With a strong commitment to student success, Dr. Salma is especially skilled at making science approachable and enjoyable for all types of learners.

Over the past six years, she has taught a wide range of Chemistry courses at institutions such as the City University of New York and Touro University, New York. Her research expertise in Chemistry adds depth and real-world perspective to her teaching. What truly sets her apart, however, is her ability to understand her students’ strengths and challenges, and to adapt her teaching style to meet their individual needs.

Now based in San Marcos, California and serving as a Chemistry faculty member at Grossmont College in El Cajon, Dr. Salma is excited to bring her expertise to middle and high school students as a Chemistry tutor—especially those seeking additional support outside the classroom. Whether it’s decoding the periodic table, understanding chemical reactions, or prepping for exams, she helps students build a strong foundation while making science genuinely fun. Students and parents alike value her calm, supportive approach and her knack for making Chemistry feel less intimidating and more like a journey of discovery.

In her free time, you’ll likely find her exploring new places, getting lost in a good book, or listening to her favorite music. With Dr. Salma, science isn’t just about formulas and facts—it’s about curiosity, creativity, and unlocking the wonder behind the world around us.

 

Michelle H.

Michelle is a teacher candidate at Queen’s University in the Concurrent Education program, working toward her Bachelor of Education (Intermediate/Senior) and Honours Bachelor of Science in Physics and Biology. She has completed student teaching placements in both Montessori and high school classrooms and has experience creating/teaching lesson plans and classroom management for students aged 5-14 through her work as a summer camp teacher.

A lifelong educator and learner at heart, she has been tutoring since high school, where she tutored peers through the homework club and founded an origami club to teach origami to others.

 

Jimin K.

Jimin K. is a certified teacher with 3 years of classroom experience and is continuing onto her 4th year. She grew up in Montgomery County and completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Maryland, College Park. With a strong background in education, she has also gained extensive experience in tutoring, specializing in working with students from 4th through 9th grade, particularly in math. Her passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom. She has actively participated in educational boot camps and enrichment programs and will continue to do so this summer. She has also embraced virtual tutoring, utilizing a variety of tools to tailor lessons that meet individual learning styles and needs. In her spare time, Jimin works one-on-one with students, helping them strengthen their skills in math, test preparation, and overall academic confidence. She believes that by building strong relationships with her students, she can better support their learning and growth. As a dedicated mentor and educator, she continually develops new strategies to engage and inspire young learners, finding each experience both enjoyable and rewarding.

 

RINOKO M.

Rinoko is an Elementary School Teacher with a Master’s degree in Education, specializing in Language and Literacies. Passionate about teaching and language, she has worked with elementary students across subjects such as Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies. With a strong background in ESL instruction, Rinoko is dedicated to helping students build confidence in their reading, writing, and communication skills.

Throughout her teaching journey, she has developed a deep passion for working with children and fostering their academic growth. Her approach focuses on making learning engaging and interactive, using creative methods to meet each student’s unique needs. Rinoko enjoys incorporating play-based activities and encouraging students to collaborate through group learning experiences. She believes that building strong relationships with her students is key to their success and continually refines her teaching strategies to support their growth.

 

 

Joshua W.

Joshua is a Math-Computer Science major at University of California San Diego with a strong passion for helping students succeed. He has several years of experience mentoring and tutoring from elementary to college level. He is also currently a mentor for first year students at UCSD. Joshua specializes in Mathematics and STEM subjects, and is naturally skilled in breaking down questions to an understandable concept. He comes with an approach of patience and encouragement, and understands that every student is different, adapting when needed. His goal is to not only focus on the grade but to build confidence and understanding of the subject. Joshua spends his free time with Church activities and trading card games.

Janet is an experienced math educator who brings over 10 years of classroom experience to her work with students. She believes every child can succeed in math when given the right tools, encouragement, and support. Janet specializes in making math feel engaging and accessible, often using hands-on and project-based approaches to spark curiosity and build confidence. She helped lead her school’s shift to the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum, a program designed to help students truly understand math—not just memorize steps.

 

 

Kathleen H.

Kathleen has a Bachelor of Science in Honours Biology and a Bachelor of Education from York University. She has over 3 years of experience teaching General Science and Biology overseas and currently works for WRDSB as an OCT certified teacher. She is qualified Intermediate/Senior in Biology, Geography and General Sciences. Kathleen is passionate and is eager to help students in their education.

 

Matei D-D.

Matei has a Master’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from the university of Western Ontario. He has three years of experience working as a teaching assistant at the University of Western Ontario, running labs and tutorials, as well as holding office hours to explain concepts and field questions from students. In his spare time, Matei enjoys fencing, occasionally attending competitions.
