EN: Lorna is a dedicated and enthusiastic educator currently pursuing a degree in Teacher Education at McGill University. With extensive tutoring experience spanning Kindergarten through Grade 12, she has supported students across a wide range of subjects, with particular strengths in mathematics and English. FR: Lorna est une éducatrice passionnée et dévouée qui poursuit actuellement un baccalauréat en enseignement à l’McGill University. Elle possède une vaste expérience en tutorat auprès d’élèves de la maternelle à la 12e année, dans une grande variété de matières, avec une expertise particulière en mathématiques et en anglais. Son expérience auprès d’apprenants de tous âges lui a permis de développer une approche flexible et centrée sur l’élève, adaptée aux besoins, aux forces et aux objectifs de chacun.

Au cours de sa formation, Lorna a également acquis une expérience précieuse en milieu scolaire grâce à trois stages d’enseignement dans des classes du primaire. Lors de ces stages, elle a travaillé auprès des élèves dans différents contextes, notamment en enseignement à la classe entière, en petits groupes et en interventions individuelles. Sarah I.

Sarah I. is a certified teacher. She grew up in Guelph, Ontario moving to Trinity College at U. of T. to complete an undergraduate degree in French and English. She attended Toronto Teachers College and later completed a Master’s degree in teaching and a specialist in Special Education. Through teaching, Sarah has been able to foster her love of learning in different environments. Today, she works one-on-one with students from 6 years old to university-aged young people preparing for graduation. She supports improvement in reading, writing for different purposes, expansion of vocabulary, organization, and fosters a desire for learning and excellence. Sarah believes that by building a solid relationship with her students, she can best meet their needs and encourage their learning. As a mentor, she continues to develop strategies for working with students of all ages. She finds these experiences rewarding and she often maintains long-term educational relationships as students carry on through the further stages of learning.

ASHLEI S.

Ashlei S. is a graduate of the Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto, and she specializes in teaching English and visual art. From a young age, she was an avid reader and frequent creative writer. Ashlei discovered her love of teaching when she began volunteering as a summer camp counsellor, and afterwards, decided to work with students as much as possible. While earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts at York University, she earned several awards in essay writing and for her academic standing. She has experience teaching students of a variety of ages: elementary school students in afterschool art programs, high school students in her teaching placements, and university students whom she worked with as a teaching assistant. She enjoys helping students strengthen their communication skills and reading comprehension and hopes to guide them in building confidence and a sense of achievement in their progress.
