Samuelle F.

EN: Samuelle Fortin is a bilingual educator and mentor specializing in secondary and post-secondary learning. She is completing her master’s in Sociology at McGill University, where she also earned a Joint Honours B.A. in Sociology and French Literature. As a Teaching Assistant in McGill’s sociology department, she helped students synthesize and process dense course material, designed visual learning aids for neurodivergent students and those with non-linear thinking patterns, and used relational teaching to connect abstract concepts to students’ lived experiences.

A specialist in physics education, Franco holds a Master’s degree in Physics Education from Concordia University (CGPA 4.15/4.30) and an Honours B.Sc. in Physics with a Minor in Computer Science from McGill University (CGPA 3.99/4.00). He has over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring science, physics, and mathematics to high school and CEGEP students in both English and French.

FR : Keya est actuellement dans la dernière année de son baccalauréat en sciences cognitives à l’Université McGill, avec une concentration en informatique et une mineure en études sud-asiatiques.
Ayant commencé en tant que tutrice par les pairs au secondaire, elle donne maintenant du tutorat dans des entreprises privées et des centres d’apprentissage depuis plus de trois ans et possède une expérience auprès d’élèves du primaire au cégep, tant en cours individuels qu’en petits groupes. EN: Keya is currently in the last year of her Bachelors in Honours Cognitive Science at McGill University, with a concentration in Computer Science and a minor in South Asian Studies.
Having started out as a peer tutor in high school, she has now been tutoring at private companies and learning centres for over 3 years and has experience working with students from elementary to CEGEP level, both one-on-one and using small-group instruction. She finds a lot of joy in helping students grow and reach their full potential. Madeleine A.

Madeleine is a graduate of McGill University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and environment. Although biology, math, and chemistry are her main areas of interest, she is passionate about all branches of science. Over the past two years, she has conducted research in the McGill Biology Department and has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Dean’s Multidisciplinary Research Award. In addition to her research, Madeleine has taught coding to graduate students through the Geography Department at McGill. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Madeleine is extremely well-organized and dedicated to helping students develop successful long-term organizational skills. She also brings valuable experience with the university application process and, as the former president of a McGill student club, is well-equipped to support students planning for higher education. Madeleine’s interests include volleyball, guitar, and sharks. EN: From an early age, Sarah had a keen interest in law. The injustices she witnessed in her community and around the world motivated her to earn her high school diploma at College Saint-Louis, known for its global awareness and openness to world issues. Inspired by her volunteer work with Lachine’s Youth Council and Amnesty International, she went on to study Law, Society, and Justice at Dawson College. Her commitment to promoting fair treatment and equal opportunities led her to pursue further studies in law at the University of Montreal. In addition to her academic pursuits, Sarah developed a passion for volunteering. One of her volunteering experiences was tutoring French and math at her local library for several years. This allowed her to gain experience teaching children of all ages and adapting to their learning needs. She has tutored both elementary and high school French to her peers, as well as at the local library. She also helped her classmates and the kids at the library with their homework throughout her academic journey. Her tutoring experience taught her to be patient, tailor her approach to each student’s learning style, and build strong connections to support their success.

Alexander is a graduate of Phillips Academy, an elite boarding school in Massachusetts, and currently studies at McGill University. Hannah G.

As an educator of 7+ years, Hannah (she/her) is eager to help students with social sciences, technical writing skills, reading comprehension, essay outlining, executive skills, and ESL conversation. Outside of tutoring, Hannah is a Ph.D. student in the Social and Cultural Analysis program at Concordia University. Her research, generously funded by the Faculty of Arts and Science Fellowship, explores online communities — specifically LGBTQIA+ and other minority-led spaces — and alternative media creation. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Media Studies from Concordia, which allowed her to develop a web series pilot about positive representation for sapphic women and non-binary folks in online fandoms. She likewise holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in English from the University of Regina with a concentration in creative writing. Professionally, she has experience as a researcher, instructor, journalist, and actress in film, theatre, and television. Hannah is passionate about intersectional feminist filmmaking, creative writing, and archival research.

Jonah P-B

FR: Jonah étudie présentement en génie aérospatial à l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. Avant cela, il a étudié en sciences de la santé au collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. Il a des connaissances approfondies des programmes de physique et de mathématique du secondaire au CÉGEP que ce soit l’algèbre, le calcul différentiel et intégral, la statique ou la mécanique.

Parmi, ses expériences précédentes, il a fait du tutorat pour ses pairs à partir du secondaire, où il les a aidé dans les matières plus difficiles pour eux. Il a aussi de l’expérience en éducation spécialisé, ce qui lui a permis de développer sa patience et sa douceur.

Sa méthode d’enseignement est centrée sur la compréhension des besoins individuels de chaque étudiant et il essaye de rendre des problèmes complexes plus accessibles avec des explications claires et des exemples concrets.

ENG: Jonah is an aerospace engineering student at Polytechnique Montreal. He attended CEGEP at Brebeuf where he studied health sciences. He has in-depth knowledge of the maths and physics curriculums from high school up to CEGEP from algebra and calculus to statics and mechanics.

His previous experiences include peer tutoring both at High School and CEGEP, where he helped his peers excel in areas in which they were lacking.

His tutoring philosophy is centered on understanding the individual learning needs of students and making complex concepts relatable with easily understandable explanations that relate to concrete situations.
