Lia L.

Lia graduated from the Sciences Po Paris & University of British Columbia Dual Degree program (B.A.), majoring in Politics & Government and International Relations. She is currently a student in McGill’s Faculty of Law’s B.C.L./J.D. program.

Throughout her multidisciplinary experience, Lia has gained extensive knowledge in History, Political Science, Philosophy, and English Language. She also previously worked as an Academic Consultant in Vancouver with experience in interview coaching and supporting personal statement writing and experiential skills. Coupled with Lia’s expansive extracurricular involvement in her student experience, she is equipped to provide insight on creating holistic student resumes for competitive school applications.

Further, Lia has tutored students ranging from Pre-K to University levels and is able to quickly build a strong rapport with her students!

Cherry S.

Cherry is on course to graduate from McGill University in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience. She attended Marianopolis College in Honours Health Science with the Director General’s Student Life major entrance scholarship. She has been tutoring high school and CEGEP level courses for 3 years online and in person. As someone who has struggled with stress/anxiety, difficulty understanding, and time organization, Cherry pursues tutoring to help others overcome their academic struggles. Her approach is to understand the optimal learning strategies of her students and use their strengths to help them succeed.

Kelly N.

Kelly is currently in her 3rd year of her bachelor’s degree in biology at Concordia University. Having grown up anglophone and attending french schools her whole life, she is a perfectly bilingual tutor with upward of 3 years of experience. She has tutoring expertise in biology and math, as well as English and French. Having spent her summers at a sleepaway camp as a camper and staff member, she developed a deep appreciation of nature and the outdoors which led her to pursue a career in biology. In her spare time, she will often be found reading a book or crocheting in a park.

Anthony P.

Anthony has his Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from McGill university and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning at McGill University to become a high school math teacher. He has always loved being in a classroom environment and has a passion for teaching people things he has learnt. He has a strong knowledge of math and computer science at the undergraduate level and physics and chemistry at the high school level. He is a great communicator, very patient and passionate about the subjects he teaches. He encourages students to develop metacognitive (control and recognition of one’s thoughts) skills to enhance their problem-solving capabilities as well as their determination and motivation.

Rob P.

Rob has recently completed a Master’s degree in data analytics at McGill University. He has years of experience teaching students between the ages of 5 to 18 years old. He’s excited to help students through knowledge from his educational and professional experience!

 

Humza S.

Humza is graduating from McGill University this year with a BSc in Microbiology & Immunology. He will be continuing his education in the same field by beginning his PhD in September at McGill. Humza has been teaching and coaching students for over five years. As a youth, he was an award-winning competitive athlete in Track & Field for fifteen years. Additionally, Humza enjoys rock climbing, board gaming, and is passionate about space exploration.

Emma A.

Emma is a passionate and devoted Pure and Applied Sciences student at Marianopolis College. She attended The Study from kindergarten to Grade 11, where she took multiple AP curriculum classes and graduated with honours. She has been a tutor for over two years, working with students of all levels, from elementary school to CEGEP.

Ibrahim B.

Ibrahim is completing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Concordia University after having acquired therefrom BEng and MASc degrees. For six years, Ibrahim has worked as a teaching assistant and lab demonstrator for a variety of mathematics, physics, and engineering courses while also offering private tutoring services to students at his academic institution.

His specialties are Math (including Calculus and Linear), Physics, and Programming (C++, Python) all up to the university level. Ibrahim has received some amount of recognition for his academic performance be it in the form of appearing in the Dean’s list or humbly accepting different academic scholarships and awards.

Ibrahim regards few roles to be as fulfilling as that of the teacher to the student and seeks to emulate this idea in both his professional and personal lives.

Maria K.

EN: Maria is a Software Engineering student at McGill. She attended high school at College Saint-Louis and John Abbott College in the science program. During her last year of high school, she started to peer tutor by helping her classmates to succeed in Chemistry. She also worked on Saturdays as a teacher assistant. She is willing to continue to help others in mathematics and science, as well as motivate them to achieve their goals.

Au cours de sa dernière année de secondaire, elle a commencé à faire du tutorat entre pairs en aidant ses camarades de classe à réussir en chimie. Elle a également travaillé le samedi comme assistante pédagogique. Sophia is an alumna of The Study School and Marianopolis College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at Concordia University, majoring in Finance with a minor in Marketing. With over three years of experience tutoring students at the elementary, high school, and CEGEP levels, Sophia is dedicated to helping students achieve their academic objectives. She is highly adaptable, tailoring her teaching methods to suit the individual learning needs of each student, and is always ready to embrace challenges to ensure her students succeed. Sophia finds great joy in watching her students reach their “aha” moments and is passionate about empowering them by instilling strong organizational and time management skills to help them reach their full potential!
