Shannon L.
Shannon is a passionate, caring, and empowering educator certified to teach all subjects from preschool through sixth grade. She completed her BA in Elementary Education at Florida Atlantic University and continued her education at Barry University to obtain a M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction with a certification in Montessori Education. Shannon has over 15 years experience teaching, tutoring, and creating individualized, interactive, and engaging lessons. With additional certifications in ESOL, Reading, Gifted, Montessori Education, and Mental Health First Aide, Shannon is well qualified to meet the needs of a diverse student population and focus on supporting the whole child. She is also uniquely qualified to help students fine tune their skills with organization, study strategies, and executive functioning. She welcomes a challenge and has yet to meet a child that she was unable to build some sort of connection with. Shannon truly has a gift for mentoring and educating that could reach even the most resistant student. In her free time Shannon enjoys exploring the outdoors and homeschooling her three year old son, reading fiction novels, and traveling.
M. Rubi
Rubi is your friendly neighborhood tutor with a notebook full of poems and a pocket full of educational tidbits. Rubi is a born and bred New Yorker and received her degrees from CUNY Hunter College with an emphasis in Literature. When she’s not tutoring, Rubi works as an elementary school Art Teacher in the South Bronx. Teaching her students weaving, fiber art, ceramics, paper-making and sculpture is one of the greatest sources of joy in her career.
Whether it’s slinging paint brushes or finding the right synonym for your essay, Rubi is here to make studying feel like a cozy chat with a buddy. She’s got a knack for tapping into what makes each student tick and tailoring their learning journey accordingly.

Lauren P. is a life-long educator for young children with certifications in Pre-kindergarten/Primary Education, Elementary Education, Educational Leadership with a Gifted Endorsement. Lauren is a life member of Phi Kappa Phi and was in Who’s Who America’s Teachers. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida with a 4.0 G.P.A. Umir is a Miami native currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science Degree at Florida International University, specializing in pre-dentistry. From sixth grade onwards, Umir has harbored a passion for tutoring in various subjects. During high school, he assumed leadership roles in math and science clubs, taking charge of organizing after-school tutoring sessions. Now, at the university level, Umir serves as a Learning Assistant for biology and English classes, in addition to his role as a tutor in the math lab.

Carly C. graduated from University of Michigan with a B.S. in Neuroscience. She has tutored while in school and after graduation in subjects such as Math, Science, ACT/SAT, and the ASVAB. Carly has experience tutoring elementary level students through collegiate level students, as well as students who are neurodivergent. A proud graduate of Concordia University Austin, she was inspired to pursue a career in education after attending nursing school and working with children during pediatric clinicals. She decided that children were where her heart was. Before working at South San Antonio ISD, she was a Bilingual Teacher at Edgewood ISD where they were responsible for teaching pre-k and kinder students cognitive skills and helping develop social-emotional competencies for school readiness.
