Susan M.

Susan, a highly experienced, dedicated, and caring teacher, has taught students with special needs in grades kindergarten through third grade for over 30 years. Susan earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in English and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from William Paterson University. She has standard New Jersey Teaching Certificates in Elementary Education and Teacher of the Handicapped.

Susan is very skilled at modifying lessons to address her students’ unique needs, challenges, and abilities. Her experience includes teaching reading/language arts, math, science and social studies to students with speech, language and learning disabilities, cognitive delays, ADHD, autism, and physical disabilities.

A lifelong New Jersey resident, Susan enjoys spending time with her family. Some of her favorite activities are going to the beach, watching movies, playing board games, reading, baking with her daughters, and taking their family dog for walks.

Emily is a certified teacher in Texas with a minor in teaching English as a Second Language. She also has experience as a behavioral therapist for children with autism. Welcome, families! My name is Francesca and I am a dedicated K-6 tutor with a deep passion for education and its impact on young minds. I am currently pursuing a teaching degree at Lakehead University and hold a degree in Sociology and Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. With over two years of tutoring experience at Kumon and more than five years in childcare, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to every session.
I strive to make learning engaging and meaningful, helping students build the confidence and understanding they need to be successful. Classrooms can be busy and unpredictable, making it easy for some students to fall behind despite their best efforts. I am committed to providing the support and guidance they need to succeed on their academic journey.

Jessica C.

Jessica C. is a former public school teacher of 13 years. She has ten years of experience in the field of special education and 3 years of experience teaching in the general education classroom. Jessica has been tutoring for 10 years and has extensive experience with virtual tutoring. She graduated from Towson University with a degree in special education. While teaching, she earned a Master’s degree from the University of Maryland in special education and another Master’s degree from Hood College in Educational Leadership. Jessica has been a part of many leadership opportunities throughout the years and prides herself on her communication with families. Jessica has three children of her own and enjoys spending as much time with them as possible. She enjoys reading, going to the beach and has a passion for teaching children how to thrive in their own way!

Robin C.

Robin C. has been in the education field for 12 years. Her journey began by being a substitute teacher for Washington County and Frederick County Public Schools for 6 years. During her time as a substitute teacher she had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students, teaching across all grades and subjects from K-8; including but not limited to music, physical education, and special education. Upon realizing her passion for helping students grow in their learning she attended Frostburg State University USMH where she earned her Master’s degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, she began teaching grades 3-5 in the Montgomery County Public School system where she has been for the last six years. Robin’s Bachelor’s degree is in Photography and Computer Imagery which has contributed to the creativity she brings when teaching her students. Meeting students where they are as individuals is an important part of Robin’s teaching style.

Ishita is a passionate, licensed educator with over seven years of experience teaching students of all ages. Holding a Master’s in Elementary Education from DePaul University and a Bachelor’s in Theatre from Loyola University Chicago, she brings warmth, creativity, and engagement to every learning experience.
With a deep belief that learning should be joyful, meaningful, and student-driven, Ishita tailors instruction to each child’s unique strengths and interests. She specializes in play-based learning, social-emotional development, and meditation techniques, creating a nurturing environment where students feel safe, confident, and excited to explore. To Ishita, learning isn’t confined to a classroom—it happens everywhere, in every moment, and she strives to help students recognize and embrace that with their own learning.
Through years of experience in homeschooling, learning pods, and one-on-one tutoring, Ishita has developed a whole-child approach that blends real-world applications with hands-on exploration. Whether leading field trips, designing personalized curriculums, or fostering critical thinking, she is dedicated to cultivating curiosity and resilience in every student. Lynda E.

Lynda is a Math and Physics teacher with 20 years of experience spanning classroom teaching, private tutoring, and Gifted and Talented programs. She has a Master’s in Physics with a concentration in Education from University of Virginia, certificate in Leaders of Learning from Harvard University, and holds teaching certificates in Math, Physics, Elementary Education, Students with Disabilities, and Middle School Science.

Lynda specializes in demystifying challenging math and physics concepts by (1) explaining concepts as clearly as possible, (2) performing examples in order to model the problem-solving process, and (3) providing several practice problems to work up to mastery. While she is a professional, Lynda enjoys conversing in a casual tone (think more Penny, less Sheldon), as math and science are often culprits for producing anxiety in students. Whether you are aiming for that 800 on the Math SAT, or simply trying to make it through your physics course unscathed, please think of Lynda as someone who can help you attain your goal!

Emily B. is a passionate and dedicated tutor currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University. She combines her analytical skills with a deep commitment to helping students succeed. Growing up as a student-athlete, she learned the value of discipline, time management, and perseverance, qualities she now instills in her students.

As a proud member of Zeta Tau Alpha, she has developed strong leadership and teamwork skills, which she brings into her tutoring sessions. She believes that every student has the potential to excel with the right guidance and encouragement. Her tutoring approach focuses on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment, tailoring lessons to fit each student’s unique needs.

Rebecca V.

Rebecca Vogdanos is a licensed teacher holding professional education certifications in the states of Illinois and Florida. She earned a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University, and began teaching six years ago starting in Des Plaines, Illinois, and has been teaching in Sarasota County since August of 2024. She is a perpetual student and will next pursue an endorsement in reading and literacy in the fall of 2025.

Her love of education was realized in 2012 when her two children were little and she became involved in homeschooling cohorts in Chicago and neighboring suburbs. That is when she developed her teaching method—Constructivism, which emphasizes active learning and peer collaboration through exploration and real-world experiences, and builds upon prior understanding in a way that captures the interests of children.

She accepts challenges with vigor and has very effective strategies in reaching what sometimes seem to be impossible goals, proving that she successfully meets the needs of each and every student.

● She has traveled the planet and has lived in Tunisia and Greece, which enabled her to find creative and successful ways to communicate with non-English speakers.
● She is an active member of the local community and practices
philanthropy daily with her children.
● She is adventurous and has been a leader of the Adventure Club at her children’s
school. This experience has enabled her to teach survival skills, provide necessary tools
for social-emotional growth, and how to critically think.
● Her life revolves around art. She and her family are very creative and incorporate art into
everything they do, from food presentation to interdisciplinary studies, and everything in between.
