EN:  Carolina holds a BSc in Anatomy and Cell Biology from McGill University and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Global Health at McMaster University. With over six years of professional tutoring experience, she specializes in supporting elementary and high school students in Math, English, Science, and French. Carolina also offers public speaking coaching and guidance for university applications. C’est une enseignante créative et polyvalente qui a travaillé dans des académies d’enrichissement privées et des services de tutorat publics. Elle étudie actuellement les sciences biomédicales à l’Université McGill et se passionne pour aider les élèves à explorer leur plein potentiel à un jeune âge, que ce soit dans le domaine des STIM ou des arts, notamment en offrant des leçons de piano !

 

Aliya R.

Aliya graduated from McGill University in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Economics. She completed her high school and Pre-University studies at Lower Canada College (LCC), earning her IB Diploma, Certificate of Bilingualism, and graduating with honours. Her early interest in education began at LCC, where she served as a peer mentor, supporting junior school students in English, French, and Math. Over the past eight years, Aliya has built a broad and versatile tutoring profile, working with elementary, middle, and high school students. She has taught a variety of subjects including Math, English, History, and Science. Her approach focuses on clear communication, building confidence, and developing strong, lasting learning habits. She also helps students strengthen their executive functioning skills, such as organization and time management. Aliya is passionate about personalized education and believes that, with the right strategies and support, every student can reach their full potential.

Mia D.

EN: Mia has her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Educational Psychology from McGill University and has worked with kids for over three years. Her favourite part of teaching is seeing her student’s hard work pay off! It is great to see them understand the material and feel confident in their work.

FR:Mia détient un baccalauréat en sociologie avec une mineure en psychologie de l’éducation de l’Université McGill et travaille avec des enfants depuis plus de trois ans. Sa partie préférée de l’enseignement est de voir le travail acharné de son élève porter ses fruits ! C’est formidable de les voir comprendre la matière et se sentir confiants dans leur travail.

 

KERRY S.

Kerry is a certified teacher specializing in early childhood. She has 15 years of teaching experience in both New York City private schools and Fairfield, CT. In addition to her classroom experiences, Kerry has tutored many students of various ages. Her tutoring experiences include ERB preparation, phonemic and phonological reading skills, kindergarten readiness, preschool enrichment, and supplemental instruction for homeschooled children.

Kerry earned a B.S. in Psychology from Sacred Heart University and a M.A. in Elementary Education from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus. She is certified to teach students in preschool through 6th grade. In addition, Kerry is also trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach and Learning Without Tears. These two programs have benefited her greatly throughout her teaching career.

Volunteer work is also important to Kerry. She currently runs a 4th grade Odyssey Of The Mindteam, which is an international STEAM- based academic program. She leads a Daisy troop and a Girl Scout troop, as well as running a camp program for St. Pius X in Fairfield, Connecticut.
