Humza is graduating from McGill University this year with a BSc in Microbiology & Immunology. He will be continuing his education in the same field by beginning his PhD in September at McGill. Humza has been teaching and coaching students for over five years. As a youth, he was an award-winning competitive athlete in Track & Field for fifteen years. Additionally, Humza enjoys rock climbing, board gaming, and is passionate about space exploration.

Emily L.

Emily graduated from McGill University with her bachelors degree in Psychology and Science and is currently applying for graduate programs to further her education. She has 6+ years tutoring math and sciences. She is passionate about making tough topics less daunting by motivating students and explaining lessons to match with each student’s individual learning styles. Banke F.

Banke F. is a Certified Teacher with a strong passion for education, science, and student success. She is currently in the process of obtaining her bachelor’s degree, graduating early, while building a solid foundation in both the humanities and advanced STEM disciplines. Banke tutors a wide range of subjects, from introductory History and English courses to advanced STEM classes, including Biology, Biochemistry, and Organic Chemistry, with over a year of experience tutoring Organic Chemistry I and II. Allison A.

Allison A., known as “Dr. Ali” by her students, earned a PhD in Microbiology & Immunology from UTHSCSA, an MBA from UTSA, and a BA in Microbiology from the University of Kansas. When not studying, Dr. Ali was a Teaching Assistant for medical and dental students. After overachieving in school, Dr. Ali became a military contractor (Scientist) and spent many years researching things she can’t tell you about. When the pandemic hit, Dr. Ali began homeschooling her own children. Inspired by this experience, she launched a STEM enrichment business that offers hands-on classes for San Antonio homeschoolers. Dr. Ali is committed to building a meaningful connection with each of her students to make learning more enjoyable and engaging. Learning comes in many forms, including playing games and building projects. It doesn’t have to be a chore or a bore. Dr. Ali is the kind of person who took Calculus 3 in college for funsies. With the right instructor, Science and Math can be fun, interactive, and spark curiosity.

Lea A.

ENG: Lea Abdo is a student at McGill University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical, Biological and Life Sciences, majoring in Anatomy and Cell Biology. She is recognized for her academic achievements, graduating from Saint Joseph High School in Saskatoon, on Principal’s Honor Roll with distinction, and a Bilingual Diploma. Lea also achieved first place provincially in the Concours d’art oratoire (Advanced French category) for both grades 11 and 12.
In addition to her academic success, Lea brings extensive experience working with children through babysitting and volunteer roles at community organizations, churches, and multicultural events such as Folkfest Saskatoon.
Lea is also active in student leadership, serving as Vice President of Sponsorship & Fundraising for McGill Hemoglobal, and a Student Ambassador for the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology.

Hi, I’m Muskaan, a graduate student in Bioengineering at Rice University with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in bioinformatics, biology, chemistry, and mathematics. With over five years of tutoring experience, I’ve had the opportunity to guide high school, undergraduate, and graduate students through subjects such as organic chemistry, biology, genetics, calculus, biostatistics etc. My teaching philosophy centers on turning complex topics into clear, engaging lessons that connect theory to real-world applications. Beyond tutoring, my professional experience spans both academic research and clinical practice from analyzing genetic risk factors for cardiovascular disease as a Graduate Researcher at UTHealth Houston, to assisting with pain management and pediatric clinics. These experiences have strengthened my ability to bridge scientific knowledge with practical understanding, which I strive to bring into every session. Kat N.

ENG: Kat is a nursing student at McGill University, currently completing her final year in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. She earned her French high school diploma, graduating on the honors roll. Kat has experience tutoring younger students in grades 7 through 9, focusing on science and math within the Ontario curriculum. Through mostly self-organized after-school tutoring sessions, she supported students in working through assigned homework and guided them in preparing for unit tests and exams. She also taught English as a second language to elementary-aged children, where she designed weekly learning plans and created fun, interactive activities to help students practice and showcase their new knowledge.
In addition to her academic teaching, Kat has worked with children in other instructional contexts, most notably as a ski instructor. She taught technical skills as well as encouraged independence, responsibility, and safe decision-making on the slopes.

Madeleine A.

Madeleine is a graduate of McGill University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and environment. Although biology, math, and chemistry are her main areas of interest, she is passionate about all branches of science. Over the past two years, she has conducted research in the McGill Biology Department and has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Dean’s Multidisciplinary Research Award. In addition to her research, Madeleine has taught coding to graduate students through the Geography Department at McGill. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Madeleine is extremely well-organized and dedicated to helping students develop successful long-term organizational skills. She also brings valuable experience with the university application process and, as the former president of a McGill student club, is well-equipped to support students planning for higher education. Madeleine’s interests include volleyball, guitar, and sharks. Overall, Madeleine can provide well-rounded, interesting lessons that position students for long-term success because of her passion for math and science, as well as her excellent organizational abilities.

Kathleen is a 5th year teacher with a M.Ed in STEM education. Whether you’re struggling with basic concepts like cell structure and genetics, or diving into more complex topics like ecology, evolution, or biochemistry, I am here to guide you every step of the way. With an undergraduate degree in sports medicine, she has a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, while also having a strong background in botany and environmental science. She enjoys studying the environment, especially the ocean habits of the marine life here in Florida. Her strengths in teaching for us on advanced placement biology, anatomy and physiology, and all levels of environmental science. She has a strong focus on project based and inquiry learning and works hard to have learning fun!
