Alex D-P

Alex holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Experimental Surgery. With a long-term goal of becoming a doctor, he is driven by a commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care.

Alongside his academic pursuits, Alex has over four years of tutoring experience in math and science. He is passionate about helping students succeed, using a teaching approach that emphasizes clarity and patience. Daniel S.

Daniel is a third-year undergraduate student at UBC studying the Neuromechanical and Physiological Sciences under the School of Kinesiology. His academic pursuits encompass the disciplines of biomechanics, anatomy and physiology, and developmental psychology. Over the past 3 years, Daniel has had independent tutoring experience with kids as young as 10 and as old as 17, guiding students through junior-level subjects such as introductory paragraph formation and fraction addition, all the way to senior-level sciences, pre-calculus, and analytical essay writing.

Daniel’s teaching style focuses on building the student’s confidence in navigating new material, with the ultimate goal of student independence. Through comprehensive communication and goal planning, Daniel aims to be reliable and trustworthy as an academic resource for his students.

Daniel enjoys playing baseball, silversmithing, and watching sad movies in his spare time. His current professional ambitions include kinesthetic research, and personal training/ coaching.

Kyle H.

Kyle is an experienced BC licensed science teacher with 14 years of
experience in as a classroom teacher. He completed a Bachelor of Science
in Biology/Chemistry at the University of Alberta as well as a Bachelor
and Master of Education at the University of Victoria and the University
of New Brunswick respectively. Over the years, Kyle has taught many
science courses including Science 10, Biology 11/12, Chemistry 11/12, AP
Chemistry and Physics 11/12. With a passion for inspiring learning and a
knack for making complex concepts accessible, Kyle provides
individualized hands on supports for each learner. His goal is to
empower each learner with the confidence and skills they need to succeed
academically and beyond. When Kyle is not teaching, he loves to travel
around the world and immerse himself in new cultures in far-away and
unique places such as Mongolia, Madagascar and Papua New Guinea.

Yechan L.

Yechan is an accomplished educational professional with over two years of tutoring and mentorship experience, specializing in Chemistry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biological Engineering from Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in International Business Management at Greystone College in British Columbia, Canada.

Yechan has a proven track record of creating engaging and inclusive learning environments that drive student success. During his time as a private tutor in Seoul, he developed customized curricula in Chemistry, English, and Mathematics, which resulted in a 35% improvement in student grades. His strong communication skills also allowed him to build effective relationships with students and their parents, offering tailored academic guidance.

In addition to his teaching experience, Yechan has worked as a lab assistant at Konkuk University, where he managed research teams, ensured lab safety, and maintained equipment for accurate experimentation. His passion for education is complemented by his skills in lesson planning, student mentorship, and problem-solving, making him a valuable asset to any learning institution.

Currently, Yechan continues to foster a commitment to student development through various roles in Vancouver, including as an activity leader and sales ambassador, where he excels in leadership and interpersonal communication.

Haisam Z.

Haisam is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He grew up in the Middle East, and moved to Canada when he was 14. He completed his schooling and attained his Bachelors of Science and Education from Western University and U of T in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He is confident that he has the skills and qualifications as well as the passion to work with high school students. Having worked as a high school teacher since 2016, from private schools such as Blyth Academy and Burlington Royal Arts Academy, and several international high schools while abroad in the U.K., followed by securing a position as a teacher within the York Region and Simcoe County district school boards where he works currently, Haisam feels that his past work experience would make him an ideal candidate to provide one on one instruction as a high school tutor. Haisam has continually tutored high schoolers which has further helped him realize the beauty of inspiring and motivating others to be the best they can be, and it has convinced him that the teaching profession is his passion. As a teacher, Haisam seeks to ignite the passion and innate curiosity within the students to want to learn by instilling within them the desire for self-discovery. Once instilled and the interest is developed, he guides and facilitates the students’ personal journey of self-discovery. This passion is what would drive them towards an enduring learning experience. Furthermore, he’s a firm believer in developing a rapport with students to make every moment of their time during his teaching as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Haisam is also an avid fan and practitioner of several sports such as amateur wrestling, boxing, mixed martial arts, track and field, and badminton.  As a tutor, Haisam can help students ace their performance in sciences and mathematics, and also help them be better athletes as a bonus! Ashley A.

Ashley Aemisegger has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. She is currently in a Master’s degree program in secondary education at Grand Canyon University (Arizona) with a focus in STEM.

Ashley has extensive experience tutoring high-school students in physics, chemistry, calculus, and algebra, and prides herself on adjusting her instruction to meet each student’s needs.

Growing up in the military gave Ashley a unique appreciation for different cultures and experiences. Today, Ashley spends much of her time in England and adores travel.

In her free time, Ashley loves reading fantasy novels with one of her cats curled up on her lap.

Dr. Ingrid U.

Ingrid Ulbrich is a passionate and tenacious educator who believes in the unlimited potential of all students to enjoy and succeed in STEM. In addition to helping students learn math and science, she helps them take ownership of their learning and strengthen their learning skills. Ingrid’s enthusiasm for STEM and learning shines through in all of her interactions with students.

Ingrid is a graduate of Niwot High School, MIT (B.S., Environmental Engineering) and the University of Colorado – Boulder (Ph.D., Atmospheric and Analytical Chemistry). She has 20 years of experience tutoring in STEM subjects, including 10+ years of teaching college chemistry.

When she’s not working with students, Ingrid probably has a spatula, musical score, book, or knitting needles in her hands. And maybe a cat in her lap, too!

 

ERIN G.

Erin G. is a chemistry and AP chemistry teacher in Fairfield county and has been teaching for over 13 years. She has experience with teaching and tutoring all levels of chemistry, as well as biology and earth science. Erin has a master’s degree in Biochemistry from Yale University and a master’s degree in Education from the University of New Haven.

Erin has a passion for teaching and helping students recognize their own ability to do hard things. Erin is incredibly patient and is skilled at explaining challenging concepts in ways that are easy to understand. Erin has created a large supply of resources to use during tutoring, including instructional videos, worksheets, and practice problems. She has perfected the technique of both virtual and in person tutoring and is excited to help students succeed.
