Maxx F.

ENG: Maxx recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from Concordia University, having completed three internships throughout. His participation as a karate instructor and experience tutoring a range of ages has helped structure his knack for encouraging effective learning techniques in students, tailored to their needs.
Maxx finds great importance in meeting students at their level, and helping them develop healthy study habits outside of tutoring sessions. He recognizes the value of patience and engagement in a classroom setting, and sees to it that a student’s concerns in matters of studies, stress and time management are addressed.
In addition to academics, Maxx is highly interested in topics like the process of game development, web programming/UX, snowboarding and cooking!

FR: Maxx a récemment obtenu son baccalauréat en génie logiciel de l’Université Concordia, tout en effectuant trois stages dans le processus. Sa participation en tant qu’instructeur de karaté ainsi que son expérience comme tuteur pour une gamme d’âges ont contribué à structurer son talent pour encourager des techniques d’apprentissage efficaces chez les étudiants, adaptées à leurs besoins.
Maxx attache une grande importance au fait de rencontrer les élèves à leur niveau et de les aider à développer de bonnes habitudes d’étude en dehors des séances de tutorat. Il reconnaît la valeur de la patience et de l’engagement dans une salle de classe, et veille à ce que les préoccupations des étudiants en matière d’études, de stress et de gestion du temps soient prises en compte.

Anthony M.

Dr. Anthony J. Marchi is a highly regarded educator and healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience empowering learners in various environments. As a U.S. Army veteran and former flight paramedic, he has led critical care training programs, mentored thousands of students, and developed award-winning curricula focused on humanistic and reflective learning principles, as well as student-centered growth. Dr. Marchi holds advanced credentials in health science, talent development, and quality improvement, which contribute to his compassionate and structured tutoring approach that inspires confidence and builds lasting academic foundations. Whether he is helping students master complex subjects or refine their writing and reasoning skills, Dr. Marchi draws from a wealth of expertise, patience, and curiosity. Outside the classroom, he enjoys reading philosophy, volunteering as a child advocate, and writing about education and leadership from his favorite corner coffee shop. At the heart of his teaching is a simple belief: every student already carries within them the capacity to grow; education is the mirror that helps them see it.

KRISHNA A.

Krishna is an engineer with a deep interest in developing cost-effective, durable, and globally scalable housing technologies. Currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia, his research focuses on the use of 3D concrete printing for innovative and sustainable housing construction. Alongside his academic and engineering pursuits, Krishna is equally passionate about teaching and tutoring.  He actively seeks out and embraces opportunities to sharpen his instructional skills and engage with students of all levels. With experience ranging from high school to undergraduate and graduate students, Krishna has taught a broad spectrum of subjects. His core teaching areas include English, Science, Mathematics (with particular expertise in Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Algebra), Physics, and Engineering Mechanics. In addition, he prepares students for competitive academic challenges such as AP, IB, and Euclid-level exams. Krishna brings both subject mastery and a strong commitment to helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

Jaden A.

Jaden graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in French. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work on research in a chemistry lab during a five-month study abroad in Strasbourg, France. Jaden has worked in teaching roles for children all her life, and she’s spent the last year teaching middle school science (6th-8th grade) at a K-12 school. She helped further develop the curricula and increased the emphasis on laboratory experiments each class, convicted to teach through hands-on experience. Whether she is teaching horseback riding or forces and work, Jaden believes that allowing students to forge their own way to understanding Nature’s laws helps them develop confidence and fires their curiosity.

 

 

David C

ENG: David is a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student with a strong passion for teaching. He has experience tutoring students in calculus, physics, and secondary-level math, helping them grasp challenging concepts through clear explanations and relatable examples. His tutoring journey began in high school, where he assisted younger students struggling with English. Since then, he has continued to refine his ability to break down complex topics, ensuring they are easier to understand and apply. David is committed to fostering a supportive learning environment where students can gain confidence in their abilities.

Il a de l’expérience en tutorat dans les matières telles que le calcul, la physique et les mathématiques du secondaire, aidant les élèves à comprendre des concepts complexes grâce à des explications claires et des exemples concrets. Son parcours en tutorat a commencé au secondaire, où il aidait des élèves plus jeunes ayant des difficultés en anglais. Depuis, il a perfectionné sa capacité à rendre les notions complexes plus accessibles et applicables. David s’engage à créer un environnement d’apprentissage encourageant, où les élèves peuvent développer leur confiance en leurs compétences.

Michael B.

Michael graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Masters of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics, and a Bachelors of Science in Physics. He is currently finishing up a Masters in Philosophy.

Before joining Prep Academy Tutors, Michael had 4 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant and Tutor in both Mathematics and Philosophy. He also has served as a guest lecturer in philosophy courses. Michael’s commitment to his students is strong, and he cares deeply about teaching and helping people learn.

 

Cassidy P.

Cassidy earned a B.S. with a double major in Physics and Mathematics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology while playing varsity softball and working in Residence Life. After graduation, she worked as a scientist for the Department of Defense for three years. During that time, she earned an M.Th. in Theological Studies from Liberty University. Cassidy then served as an Assistant Pastor for four years, enjoying mentoring students and teaching all ages. Her husband’s career as an Army nurse relocated them to San Antonio, where they had their first child.

Cassidy has tutored, formally and informally, throughout high school and college. Passionate about learning and, consequently, teaching, she is always gaining new knowledge and skills — from coding to music to cooking and beyond. Her other passions include her faith, motherhood, and health and fitness. She also enjoys reading and doing puzzles.

Courtney P.

Courtney P. holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Pharmacy at the same institution, having successfully completed three out of four years of the program. During a recent break from her doctoral studies, she taught mathematics and science to 4th and 5th grade students at Prairie Lea ISD, where she also provided after-school tutoring for students in grades K–12 across a variety of STAAR-tested subjects.

Courtney has extensive experience delivering small-group and one-on-one interventions for students needing remedial support, as well as for bilingual emergent learners and those with special education needs. While her formal classroom experience is still growing, she brings a wealth of tutoring experience that began during her freshman year of high school. Over the years, she has supported students in mastering challenging Advanced Placement courses, including Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, U.S. History, and World History.

Outside of education, Courtney leads an active and dynamic lifestyle. She manages the 35-acre farm where she lives, enjoys kickboxing, and spends time with her two dogs. A talented cook and avid baker, she also enjoys sketching and has developed a strong knowledge of war and military collectibles, antique firearms, sports card trading, and coin collecting—interests she shares with her fiancée through their family business.

Jonah P-B

FR: Jonah étudie présentement en génie aérospatial à l’École Polytechnique de Montréal. Avant cela, il a étudié en sciences de la santé au collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. Il a des connaissances approfondies des programmes de physique et de mathématique du secondaire au CÉGEP que ce soit l’algèbre, le calcul différentiel et intégral, la statique ou la mécanique.

Parmi, ses expériences précédentes, il a fait du tutorat pour ses pairs à partir du secondaire, où il les a aidé dans les matières plus difficiles pour eux. Il a aussi de l’expérience en éducation spécialisé, ce qui lui a permis de développer sa patience et sa douceur.

Sa méthode d’enseignement est centrée sur la compréhension des besoins individuels de chaque étudiant et il essaye de rendre des problèmes complexes plus accessibles avec des explications claires et des exemples concrets.

 

ENG: Jonah is an aerospace engineering student at Polytechnique Montreal. He attended CEGEP at Brebeuf where he studied health sciences. He has in-depth knowledge of the maths and physics curriculums from high school up to CEGEP from algebra and calculus to statics and mechanics.

His previous experiences include peer tutoring both at High School and CEGEP, where he helped his peers excel in areas in which they were lacking.

His tutoring philosophy is centered on understanding the individual learning needs of students and making complex concepts relatable with easily understandable explanations that relate to concrete situations.

 

Harish R.

Harish holds a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from McGill University. He has a passion for teaching and takes the utmost pride in helping to bring out the best in his peers. Harish is also a great communicator, adaptable, and very passionate about the material he teaches.

Harish has a thorough academic background to support students at the high school, CEGEP, and undergraduate level in a variety of subject areas.
