Aude L.

Aude is currently in her first undergraduate year in the honours physics program at McGill University. She graduated from Champlain Ste-Lawrence CEGEP on the Dean’s list in 2023 with a degree in pure and applied sciences. She was awarded the Governor General’s medal for her high school journey. She has tutored students from kindergarten all the way to CEGEP for over two years in English as well as in French. She is passionate about science, especially regarding space and the early mysteries of our universe. You can often find Aude looking up at the sky, eager to identify constellations and planets in the sky. She also loves art, music and any winter sport.

FR: Aude est dans sa première année d’études dans le programme « Honours Physics » de l’université Mcgill. Elle a gradué du programme des sciences pures et appliquées du CEGEP Champlain Ste-Lawrence sur la liste d’honneurs en 2023. Elle a également reçu la médaille du gouverneur général pour son parcours académique au secondaire. Elle a travaillé comme tuteur depuis plus de deux ans auprès d’élèves d’âge primaire jusqu’au CEGEP en anglais ainsi qu’en français. Elle est passionnée de sciences surtout de sujets traitant de l’espace et des grands mystères des débuts de l’univers. Vous pouvez la trouver la tête axée vers le ciel, identifiant les astres qui nous entourent. Elle est une grande amateure d’art et de musique et pratique plusieurs sports d’hiver.

Haisam Z.

Haisam is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He grew up in the Middle East, and moved to Canada when he was 14. He completed his schooling and attained his Bachelors of Science and Education from Western University and U of T in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He is confident that he has the skills and qualifications as well as the passion to work with high school students. Having worked as a high school teacher since 2016, from private schools such as Blyth Academy and Burlington Royal Arts Academy, and several international high schools while abroad in the U.K., followed by securing a position as a teacher within the York Region and Simcoe County district school boards where he works currently, Haisam feels that his past work experience would make him an ideal candidate to provide one on one instruction as a high school tutor. Haisam has continually tutored high schoolers which has further helped him realize the beauty of inspiring and motivating others to be the best they can be, and it has convinced him that the teaching profession is his passion. As a teacher, Haisam seeks to ignite the passion and innate curiosity within the students to want to learn by instilling within them the desire for self-discovery. Once instilled and the interest is developed, he guides and facilitates the students’ personal journey of self-discovery. This passion is what would drive them towards an enduring learning experience. Furthermore, he’s a firm believer in developing a rapport with students to make every moment of their time during his teaching as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Haisam is also an avid fan and practitioner of several sports such as amateur wrestling, boxing, mixed martial arts, track and field, and badminton.  As a tutor, Haisam can help students ace their performance in sciences and mathematics, and also help them be better athletes as a bonus! Christian L.

FR: Christian est titulaire d’un MBA et d’un diplôme d’ingénieur. Il a de l’expérience dans le tutorat d’étudiants en ligne et en personne. Christian a travaillé en tant qu’ingénieur professionnel et a principalement travaillé dans le domaine des technologies de l’information (IT). Il est passionné par les mathématiques, la physique et les sciences. Christian est motivé pour partager son expérience et sa passion avec les autres. Il a de l’expérience en matière de tutorat pour aider les jeunes en mathématiques.

EN: Christian has an MBA and an Engineering degree. He has experience tutoring students both online and in-person. Christian has worked as a professional engineer and has mainly worked in Information Technology (IT). He is passionate about mathematics, physics, and sciences. Christian is motivated to share his experience and passion with others. He has tutoring experience helping youth with mathematics.

Ashley A.

Ashley Aemisegger has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. She is currently in a Master’s degree program in secondary education at Grand Canyon University (Arizona) with a focus in STEM.

Ashley has extensive experience tutoring high-school students in physics, chemistry, calculus, and algebra, and prides herself on adjusting her instruction to meet each student’s needs.

Growing up in the military gave Ashley a unique appreciation for different cultures and experiences. Today, Ashley spends much of her time in England and adores travel.

In her free time, Ashley loves reading fantasy novels with one of her cats curled up on her lap.

Shivani J.

Shivani Jain is passionate about helping students excel in math and science. She has 13 years of experience working with middle-school, high-school, and college students.

Shivani has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in math, physics, and chemistry — as well as a master’s degree in International Business.

She is an ideal math tutor for students in algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, calculus (1, 2, AP, AB, and BC), physics, and chemistry. In addition, Shivani thrives on helping middle- and high-school students prepare for Mathcounts and AMC 8/10 competitions.

The belief that everyone has the potential to excel in math and science is what drives Shivani’s dedication to helping her students reach their full potential.

In her spare time, Shivani likes to go out on walks, hikes, enjoy nature, dance, and cook.

EN: Raphaël has his DEC in Arts and Sciences from CEGEP de Jonquière and a joint Major in Biology and Mathematics from McGill University. What he likes most about coaching is helping students adopt a positive and confident approach to academic challenges, whether it is with theoretical knowledge or strategies for time and stress management. He likes to listen to students and offer personalized guidance depending on each student’s needs.

FR: Raphaël est titulaire d’un DEC en arts et sciences du CEGEP de Jonquière et d’une majeure conjointe en biologie et mathématiques de l’Université McGill. Ce qu’il aime le plus dans le coaching, c’est d’aider les étudiants à adopter une approche positive et confiante face aux défis académiques, que ce soit avec des connaissances théoriques ou des stratégies de gestion du temps et du stress. Il aime écouter les étudiants et offrir un accompagnement personnalisé en fonction des besoins de chacun.

LEE H.

Lee Hyatt has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Furman University and is currently working on a Master’s degree in Engineering Education from Purdue University. Lee has 7 years of teaching experience teaching in both boarding school and day school environments. He has taught AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, College Preparatory Physics, Honors Physics, and College Preparatory Chemistry plus other project based engineering courses. Lee has been tutoring in Physics since his Sophomore year in college and loves to work with students one-on-one. He tries to use as many simulations and metaphors as possible to simplify the conceptual understanding to assist with the understanding of equations. Lee lives in Danbury, CT enjoys Formula 1, running, cycling, and hiking.

GHADA N.

Ghada has a Ph.D in Science Education and a master’s degree in Physics and has been teaching for 15 years. She has taught AP Physics with calculus,  post AP Introduction to Modern Physics, Regents physics, honors pre-calculus, and Experimental Physics at the high school level and algebra-based introductory physics courses at the college level. Ghada enjoys working with students of all ages and looks forward to supporting their work in the sciences.
