Li(xian) is a mother, and enjoys teaching and working with kids young and old. She is a resident of Westchester.
Sai N.
Sai is a motivated graduate student at the University of Texas at San Antonio where he is pursuing a Master’s degree in biomedical engineering with the ultimate goal of applying to medical school and becoming a physician. He is hoping to work at the intersection of patient care and cutting edge medical technology. Sai graduated high school with 37 transferable AP credits; this in conjunction with his Biology undergraduate background and Engineering graduate background makes Sai a strong candidate for STEM subjects with a solid understanding of Math up to Calculus 2/BC, Chemistry from high school to Organic Chemistry 2 at the collegiate level, AP Physics, and PSAT/SAT and ACT Prep.
Alongside his academic pursuits, Sai has copious experience volunteering and working with special needs children over multiple summers between academic seasons as well volunteering experience at multiple free clinics in San Antonio that provide medical care to those in need completely free of charge to the patient. Through these activities, Sai has developed a deep affinity for working with people of all kinds of people and sharing a love for learning through companionship. In his free time, Sai enjoys training in boxing/muay thai and singing.
“Working with one of these tutors has been a game changer for my son. Professional and always listening to understand my son is learning not only how to master the content, but tips and tools to study in the ways which work best for him. I highly recommend working with one of these talented tutors!”

Marcus M.
Marcus has a Master’s degree in Physics from McGill University, and a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Victoria. Marcus has a wide variety of experience as a Teaching Assistant in 100 to 500 level Physics courses at McGill, and an extensive higher level Math education (including upper level Calculus and Linear Algebra). Through his research experience at McGill, Marcus also has a variety of computational skills, including extensive experience programming in Python. Marcus can offer advice on what an academic path in science might look like as a career, particularly in Physics and Astronomy.
With plans to obtain further credentials in the education sector, Marcus hopes to become a secondary school instructor. He believes that any concept can be understood when working to break complex ideas down into their fundamental building blocks. He has experience working with children aged 5-14 through STEM based Summer Camps, and has found there is nothing more gratifying than seeing someone come to understand a concept they were having difficulty with.
Augustin P.
Augustin is a recent graduate (with distinction) from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Science in Honours Psychology. After completing his honours thesis on the neurobiology of opioid addiction, he is eager to apply his knowledge and passion for science through teaching.
He is passionate about an interdisciplinary approach to science and research. In the past he has worked as a personal tutor for students with learning difficulties (SEGPA) at the Externat des Enfants Nantais high school (EDEN) in France. Having studied in three different school systems and lived in multiple countries he understands diverse perspectives, teaching styles. He also recognizes the challenges that come with learning in a second language.
His approach to teaching is focused on nourishing curiosity, imagination and intrinsic interest in the student. He sees that difficulty can often arise from the apparent dryness and irrelevance of concepts that students begin to be confronted with at the end of high school and CEGEP. He emphasizes the logic behind equations and methods rather than focusing on memorization. With the emphasis he places on linking knowledge across classes he aims to foster an understanding of science as a unified discipline. This approach not only facilitates learning and memorization but also helps reduce workload.
He is fully fluent in both French and English, proactive and committed to offering different perspectives that enhance course content and student engagement.
