Christopher S.
Christopher S. is a teacher candidate at Western University. He completed his Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He later finished his Master of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo where he studied the application of the CRISPR system in insect cells. Throughout his academic career, Christopher had the chance to teach many first-year engineering students where he realized that he had a passion for science communication. Christopher specializes in helping students learn math and science, and encourages students to think about how these subjects can relate to their everyday lives.
Jennifer O.
Jennifer O. has over two years of experience as an Assistant Professor, teaching remotely in Calgary, Alberta, and more than twenty years of experience as an Educational Assistant in London, Ontario. She holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, where she published her capstone paper on inclusive education, and an undergraduate degree in Sociology.
Jennifer takes a friendly and down-to-earth approach to teaching. She loves helping students build confidence in their ideas, think critically about the world around them, and make real-life connections between learning and social issues. With a background in social justice and the social sciences, she enjoys supporting students in sociology, psychology, and related fields.
She is currently working on an educational book that combines personal stories with lessons from her work in education. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outdoors with her dog, cooking, and relaxing with a good show.
Ricky F.
Ricky is a Teacher Candidate at Western University, he previously received his B.A. Sc and M.A. Sc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Ricky worked as a teaching assistant in engineering, chemistry, and programming classes throughout his undergraduate and graduate career. He is passionate about helping students in their academic journeys. Ricky knew from a young age that he was interested in becoming a teacher. He was involved in the robotics team and math club in high school, which are subjects he hopes to support as a full time teacher.
Outside of teaching, Ricky continues to expand his technical skills through personal programming projects across various fields of computer science. He enjoys applying computational thinking to real-world problems and integrating technology into learning experiences. Ricky is committed to lifelong learning and looks forward to guiding students not only toward academic success but also toward developing crucial critical thinking skills.

FARIBA H.
Fariba started her teaching journey back in 1999, when she decided to work as a volunteer in Bayview Fairways Public School in a grade 8 classroom. Her strong academic knowledge in math and science was recognized by the home room teacher and the principal. In 2001, she graduated from the faculty of Education at the Brock University with a degree in Bachelor of Education. In 2002, she was hired by the York Region Board of Education with a one year contract to teach a grade 8 homeroom class at the Bayview Fairways Public School in Thornhill, Ontario. In 2003, she was transferred to the Randal Public School where she started her permanent teaching position as a grade 7 and 8 homeroom teacher, teaching Language, Math, Science, Health and Physical Education. In 2010, she was promoted to the position of Lead Intermediate teacher at Randal Public School. In 2014, she was transferred to a French Immersion school in Richmond Hill named Beverley Acres Public School (BAPS). She is still teaching as an English subject teacher at BAPS, teaching two grade 5 homeroom classes. By working in three different public schools, she was able to diversify her teaching experience as she had the opportunity to teach students ranging from nine to thirteen years old (grades 4 to 8). Throughout her teaching career, Fariba has been committed to her ongoing professional learning. She has upgraded her teaching knowledge by completing several Additional Qualification Courses; Special Need Part 1, Special Need Part 2, Reading Part 1, Reading Part 2, and Science Senior division. Fariba’s experience, excellent academic background in math and science, and her compassionate and kind personality enabled her to make a difference for hundreds of learners for the past 26 years.
Madison R.
Madison is a 3rd year Ph.D. student studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research is on fixed-wing drones that provide aerial information gathering. Throughout undergrad and graduate school, Madison has been a Teaching Assistant in the aerospace department for various aerodynamics and aircraft dynamics classes.
She has spent the last 5 years tutoring middle and high school math and science, as well as SAT/ACT prep. During her time as an undergraduate student, she has worked for Disability Services at CU Boulder, where she was a peer mentor for students in applied math. Needless to say, she has an immense passion for education and mentorship!
Outside of school, Madison can be found with her two horses, Penelope and Daisy, who she trains and competes in three-day eventing and show jumping — or coaching young equestrians!
Didem A.
Didem is a passionate and results-driven educator with over 10 years of experience tutoring more than 200 students, ranging from elementary to senior level. Based in Metro Vancouver, she specializes in supporting students in developing critical reading, analytical writing, and communication skills for IB, AP, British Curriculum, and standardized test preparation, including the SAT, ACT, IELTS, and more. Didem holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the State University of New York and a TESOL teaching certification awarded with distinction. She has taught students worldwide through both in-person and online sessions, tailoring lessons to individual learning styles to improve confidence and academic performance. Skilled in instruction, Didem empowers learners to achieve their full potential through personalized, engaging support.
When she’s not tutoring, Didem loves spending time at the beach with a good book. She’s also a proud dog enthusiast who appreciates the company of cats—sometimes both at the same time!
Monica V.
Monica is a recent graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, where she earned an Honours BA in English and History with high distinction and a consistent place on the Dean’s Honour Roll. With two years of experience in museum education, Monica successfully developed engaging, inclusive, hands-on learning experiences that cater to diverse audiences. Monica is now continuing her education journey through Western University’s Teacher Education program, specializing in the Intermediate/Senior division. Monica has experience tutoring writing, reading, editing, and developing study skills in students from elementary to university levels.
Her teaching philosophy is rooted in a student-centred approach that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. She is passionate about empowering students to become confident learners who not only achieve academic success but also develop a love for the learning process. One of her favourite parts about teaching is the “ah-ha” moment. Beyond her commitment to education, she enjoys a variety of pursuits, including reading, writing, visiting museums, wandering through forests, antiquing, and singing in choir.

David is teacher in-training with a background in project management with a dual degree in Economics and Political Science. He has experience tutoring kids in English while on tour in Italy. David is excited to put to practice the teaching techniques he is learning and help students reach their goals in education.

Dalal is a student in the Education program at Mount Royal University with a strong passion for teaching and supporting student success. She specializes in tutoring both math and literacy and has experience working with students of all abilities, including those with special needs. Through her academic training and hands-on work with learners, Dalal has developed effective strategies to adapt lessons, foster engagement, and build confidence in her students.

THOMAS J.
Thomas J. is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He grew up in Toronto, he studied at TMU (Ryerson) to complete an Undergraduate Degree in History. As well, he completed Bachelors of Education (Intermediate-Senior) and Masters of Education specializing in Social Justice Education at Lakehead University. Thomas grew up with a deep love of travel and took the opportunity to explore the world through his love of soccer, often watching as many games as he can while away, especially Fulham FC in London. When he decided to pursue teaching as a career Thomas emphasized dynamic learning, where the teacher and students engage in a mutual learning environment. It is through teaching that Thomas has been able to foster his love of history, social studies and language comprehension. During the summer Thomas teaches at Continuing Ed, encouraging students to prioritize using learning as a way to survey their post-secondary interests. In his spare time Thomas plays tennis and works one-on-one with children ranging from 6 years through high school. He has supported the improvement of their reading, writing, vocabulary and math skills. Thomas believes that by building a strong relationship with his students he is better able to meet their needs and grow their learning. This has been displayed at Caring and Safe Schools where Thomas was not only a teacher but a mentor in helping students develop socio-emotional skills and academic skills. Thomas sees every opportunity to continue to develop his skills for empowering students academically and through confidence.
