Rachel A.
Rachel’s goal when working with students is showing them that math is for anyone who is willing to engage with it––and it can even be fun! She has taught high school math for several years. She has her Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland and her Master’s in Teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education. She enjoys dance and loves to crochet in her free time.
Joe L.
Joe is currently a senior at the University of Illinois in Chicago completing his undergraduate degree with a bachelor’s in neuroscience and a minor in chemistry. As a research assistant in UIC’s Human and Sport Performance Laboratory, he has experience in both clinical and bench research, receiving an American Heart Association grant for his work in 2024. Prior to attending UIC Joe owned and operated an escape room company in downtown Chicago but has since found his true passion in healthcare. His love for teaching and working with youth stems from his leadership role at the YMCA of Atlanta where he ran and helped to develop a program focused on fostering servant leadership in high schoolers. In his free time Joe loves playing disc golf, running, and eating his way through Chicago’s best restaurants! (recommendations welcome)
Joe has always been a good student with a love of learning and a creative mind, which is truly what he hopes to pass on to your student! He is well suited to tutor for science courses as he has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while taking advanced classes in chemistry including organic, biochemistry, and inorganic chemistry as well as advanced level biology, psychology and philosophy courses. He is also well suited for test prep tutoring as he scored a perfect score on the science section of the ACT and a thirty-five on the math section. Preston H.
Preston is an Idaho native who grew up in Twin Falls before graduating High School in 2017 and attending Boise State University for his undergraduate degree. During his undergraduate career, Preston was initially pre-med and spent time interning at hospitals and medical clinics in both the U.S. and Greece before he began working in a research lab and finding his true passion in biological research. Starting in his second year of his undergraduate studies, Preston also began tutoring a wide array of students in various subjects and developed a passion for being able to help others. Helping students understand and succeed in the subject being taught and understand what it takes to be successful throughout their current and future courses. Throughout this time, Preston has primarily tutored general biology, molecular biology, cellular biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and statistics, but has also spent time tutoring English second language high school students in a wide array of high school subjects. Preston graduated from Boise State in May of 2021 with his Bachelor of Science in Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Biology. Following graduation, Preston moved to Salt Lake City where he spent time doing viral research at the University of Utah before returning to Boise State to pursue his Ph.D., where he is currently a third-year molecular biology Ph.D. candidate. In his free time Preston likes to spend his time snowboarding, wakeboarding, boating, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
ANASH C.
Anash has a honors Bachelor’s degree of Medical Science, and Master’s Degree in Environmental Public Health. He has worked as a tutor for 10 years and has taught primary, junior, and secondary Math, Sciences and English. He has also taught university level chemistry, biology and physiology courses. In his free time, Anash likes to plays sports like hockey, baseball, tennis and basketball.

With more than 20 years of experience as a teacher and tutor, Ivan has a rich background in education, spanning various countries and educational levels. As an engineer, he brings a unique approach to helping students succeed and boosting their self-confidence, particularly in quantitative subjects. Ivan is known for his patience and his ability to understand each student’s unique perspective. He emphasizes the importance of mastering the basics to foster deep understanding, avoiding mere memorization and promoting genuine learning.
Susan A.
Susan A. is a Certified Teacher and Trained Educational Clinician with over a decade of experience. She holds a Bachelor of Education in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Math Education K-12 from The University of Texas, with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Susan specializes in personalized, multisensory instruction for students of all ages and abilities, including those with learning difficulties like dyscalculia and autism spectrum disorder. She takes pride in building strong relationships with her students, making online sessions comfortable and enjoyable. Her students know she always goes above and beyond to ensure their success. When she’s not busy helping students conquer their math fears, you might find her trying to figure out which came first: the lesson plan or the coffee.
Meg H.
Meg Hardick is a certified middle grades science teacher. She holds a BS in Environmental Science, and a Masters in Elementary Education. She specializes in all areas of science, as well as elementary education, middle school French, and standardized test prep. She greatly enjoys helping students build the emotional and executive functioning skills necessary to excel in all subject areas. As a lover of literature and writing, she is especially excited to help students engage with the written word and expand their creative and expressive abilities. She has had great success supporting students through the stress and pressure of standardized testing season, taking a wholistic approach to test preparation and demystifying test structures.
When not supporting students, she enjoys spending time with her son, Hazel, wandering the Bella Vista streets, and hiking in the Poconos. She is a recent transplant from Austin, Texas, and is very appreciative of her new community.
Tim B.
Mr. Berg has been an educator for over 25 years. He earned both Bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science from Northern Illinois University, a Master’s degree in History from Northeastern Illinois University, and Master’s degree in Education from Lewis University. He is currently receiving his doctorate in Educational Leadership. He has previously taught in private elementary schools in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, as well as High School. He is a highly qualified tutor, having worked with elementary, middle and high school students. Mr. Berg enjoys spending time with his family. As a tutor, he loves seeing his student’s master a new concept and pushes them to success!
Stephen V.
Stephen is a professional historian with over five years of experience as a college instructor. Outside the classroom, Stephen’s historical research took him to libraries and archives in Scotland, England, and India. He has a PhD in History from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Stephen’s zeal for all things history has shaped his approach to teaching, which brings past events and characters to life through impassioned storytelling, rather than giving tedious lists of names and dates. Stephen believes that if he can convince his students that history and the humanities are as cool as he thinks they are, a spark will arise that drives them to excellence in reading comprehension, essay writing and beyond.
Apart from the subject matter, Stephen is a personable instructor who strives to get to know his students as best he can. In doing so, Stephen aims to create a safe space which allows for open dialogue and, consequently, top-level schoolwork.
