Joshua T.

Josh grew up in the suburbs of Texas and his favorite subject has always been math. Whether it be helping his peers in class or professionally, he has been tutoring others in math since the fourth grade! He attended Texas State University and graduated in 2015 with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. During his time at Texas State, he was acknowledged by the Physics department as the outstanding undergraduate instructor of the year and even led the groups of other student instructors for his lab sections. He also participated in a state of the art program that focuses on the learning process of mathematical concepts, and here is where he really developed and honed his skill for teaching math. He received perfect scores on every exit level test from highschool, a perfect 800 on the SAT Math, and a perfect 36 on the ACT Math. He approaches every student with compassion, and possesses a unique skill of diagnosing the foundational gaps in learning to help students maximize their potential. Not only is he in the top 1% of test scores, but his love for math and helping others learn puts him in the top 1% of educators as well.

 

Walker J.

Walker is an Idaho native, born and raised in Idaho Falls. He moved to Boise in 2023 and is currently a full-time Junior at Boise State University, majoring in Construction Management with a minor in Spanish. A high achiever in high school, Walker served as Senior Class President before graduating summa cum laude with a 4.2 GPA. During that time he worked as a tutor for his twin sister who struggled with information retention. By using real-world scenarios and hands-on examples, he made learning more engaging, and discovered a genuine passion for teaching in the process. Instead of lecturing, Walker continues to use a conversational, student-centered approach, encouraging dialogue and active thinking. He looks forward to building meaningful connections with each of his students and supporting their growth through patience and collaboration.

 

TASFIA A.

Tasfia is an experienced STEM tutor with over four years of tutoring experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, specializing in secondary and post-secondary mathematics and sciences. She has worked with more than 100 students across diverse curricula, including the Ontario curriculum, International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), Danforth’s MaST, and Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs. Tasfia has extensive experience supporting students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), skillfully adapting her teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure comprehensive understanding and skill mastery. She is a compassionate, friendly, and adaptive educator with a special interest in cognitive psychology who approaches learning from a trauma-informed perspective.

 

Kristin V.

Kristin is a certified English educator with 20 years of experience teaching high school and helping students master content and pass state-standardized exams. She holds a B.A. in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh and has endorsements in both Reading and English Language Learners, along with certifications in Drama and Business. Known for making complex texts and writing tasks approachable and for teaching students practical, accessible skills needed to pass national and state-standardized exams, Kristin has helped thousands of students build the literacy skills and confidence they need to succeed—in the classroom and beyond. She specializes in personalized, one-on-one instruction that meets students where they are and helps them grow as critical thinkers, effective writers, and clear communicators. A published journalist and former yearbook advisor, Kristin brings creativity, warmth, and real-world relevance to every session. When she’s not teaching or writing, she instructs yoga classes and explores new ways to bring joy into learning.

Matt T.

Matt Tracy has a B.A. in Economics from Fordham University in New York City and a proven track record of helping students excel in college entrance exams (ACT and SAT) and their English and mathematics courses. With three years of tutoring experience, Matt is an expert at guiding students through K-12 level reading, writing, and English, as well at preparing high-school students for their ACT and SAT exams.

Matt’s teaching experience began in high school when he started an SAT Prep Club to help his classmates do as well if not better than him on the test. His passion for education grew while working at the Writing Lab Center (two years) at Fordham. This experience gave Matt the opportunity to support students from all background and help them reach their full potential.

In addition to his business journalism and tutoring pursuits, Matt enjoys reading up on politics and current events. He also is actively engaged in his local community and loves to frequent locally-owned coffee shops and other businesses.

Sandra M.

Sandra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida and brings a strong academic foundation to her role as a tutor. For the past three years, she has worked with students ranging from Pre-K to college, teaching subjects such as English, chemistry, organic chemistry, and various math courses.

Sandra’s unique experience spans early childhood education and college-level tutoring, giving her a versatile and adaptive teaching style. She takes pride in making complex topics approachable and believes in creating a supportive, engaging learning environment tailored to each student’s needs.

She recently graduated in May 2025 and is currently pursuing a nursing degree at Nova Southeastern University. Sandra is passionate about helping students build both confidence and competence in their academic journeys. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, staying active, and spending time with friends and family.

 

Erin F.

Erin is an experienced literacy tutor with a Master’s degree in English Education, 10 years of experience in the field of education, and a profound love for stories. Her approach emphasizes patience and flexibility in addressing the needs of each student, helping them build confidence in addition to strong linguistic and academic skills.

Erin specializes in grammar, essay writing, literary analysis, and standardized test prep. When she isn’t helping students learn to love language, she can be found backpacking Florida’s swamps, learning to dance salsa, or devouring the latest fantasy bestseller alongside her elderly cat, Charles.

Anvitha E.

Anvitha Ellanki is a dedicated tutor from San Antonio, Texas, who blends academic excellence with a deep passion for mentoring and service. Graduated in the top 2% of her class at Health Careers High School and an AP Scholar, she has completed 15 AP courses and earned college credits in subjects like medical terminology, calculus, and English. Beyond the classroom, she’s led health fairs, coached debate students, and conducted research on everything from cactus moths to stem cell therapy for neurodegenerative diseases. Whether she’s tutoring students, prepping students for UIL, or editing essays, Anvitha strives to create engaging, supportive, and personalized learning experiences. She’s fluent in English, Telugu, Tamil, and Spanish, trained in classical Indian dance, and believes that confidence and curiosity are the foundation of any student’s success. When she’s not tutoring, you’ll likely find her volunteering at a local hospital, performing Bharatanatyam on stage, or enthusiastically color-coding yet another planner.

Tammy G.

Tammy graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education, and completed a Masters Degree in Education from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Tammy has taught high school mathematics the past 25+ years in Appleton, Wisconsin, Fort Myers and Sarasota, Florida. She has tutored both middle and high school students for homework help, to pass ACT/SAT, PSAT, CLT, and the HESI Nursing Exam. She is very patient and nonjudgmental. It makes her happy when a student finally “gets it” understands a concept they couldn’t previously.

Outside of school, Tammy enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach and reading.

Kristine K.

Kristine is a Certified Teacher with more than 30 years’ experience both in the classroom and as a tutor. She graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Math Education. Kristine spent most of the 30 years in Jefferson Parish Public School System high schools teaching everything from remedial through honors math classes and taught 5th grade for 3 years. She loves one-on-one work, as it allows the time for her to verify the student’s strengths and weaknesses to focus on areas where improvement is needed. She uses topics that interest each student for a more personal and engaging learning experience. As a tutor, Kristine is very dedicated to using methods that each student can learn from. She also believes in frequent communication with parents as part of the learning team. She believes that laughter is an essential part of learning and considers all questions to be important.
