Andrew D.
Andrew D. has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Princeton University — where studied with some of the top Math professors in the world. While at Princeton, Andrew worked as an assistant instructor for a summer course for incoming freshmen, and he was a math tutor for all four years.
Andrew is a certified substitute teacher in Colorado, and will begin his Ph.D. program in Mathematics in Fall 2026 at Princeton. His goal is to become a full-time math professor at a major university.
In addition to his skills in math, Andrew also speaks fluent Spanish.
When he’s not focused on math, Andrew enjoys writing, going to the movies, and playing Dungeons and Dragons with the same group he’s been playing with for the past five years.
Beverlyn J.
Beverlyne J. is a mathematics and chemistry educator from Kenya.
As a child, Beverlyne had a strong interest in problem-solving and science, which led her to study higher math and chemistry and pursue a career in teaching and research.
She received her B.Ed. in Mathematics and Chemistry and her MS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Nairobi, in Kenya. She did her postgraduate studies at Uppsala University in Sweden.
She has taught math and chemistry at several different levels: lecturing at the University of Nairobi, serving as the head of the Mathematics Department at the Jaffery Academy (Nairobi), and working as a lecturer/tutor for private clients.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys playing badminton, conducting research in mathematical modeling, and mentoring young scholars in STEM.
Her goal is to make mathematics meaningful and accessible, and help students build the confidence and critical-thinking skills that apply outside the classroom.
Anthony (AJ) L.B.
Anthony (“AJ”) La Barca is a Ph.D. student in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. He holds a B.S. in Physics & Astronomy with minors in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Music from the University of Rochester. AJ has extensive experience tutoring and teaching at the middle-school, high-school, and collegiate levels, serving as a teaching assistant in both physics and aerospace engineering courses. Proficient across math, physics, computer science, and engineering topics, he strives to make complex concepts accessible and engaging for students of all levels. Outside of academia, AJ is an avid rock climber, skier, and photographer, often combining his love for science and the outdoors through astrophotography.
Madison R.
Madison is a 3rd year Ph.D. student studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research is on fixed-wing drones that provide aerial information gathering. Throughout undergrad and graduate school, Madison has been a Teaching Assistant in the aerospace department for various aerodynamics and aircraft dynamics classes.
She has spent the last 5 years tutoring middle and high school math and science, as well as SAT/ACT prep. During her time as an undergraduate student, she has worked for Disability Services at CU Boulder, where she was a peer mentor for students in applied math. Needless to say, she has an immense passion for education and mentorship!
Outside of school, Madison can be found with her two horses, Penelope and Daisy, who she trains and competes in three-day eventing and show jumping — or coaching young equestrians!
Jazzmyn H.
Jazzmyn H. is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health at UTHealth Houston with a concentration in Health Promotion and Education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a focus in Social Behavioral Sciences and Pre-Health Professions.
Jazzmyn has several years of experience teaching and tutoring high school mathematics—including Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry—as well as Chemistry. She has taught in classroom settings at Brentwood Christian School and through organizations such as Catapult Learning and Varsity Tutors, where she became known for her patient explanations, creative problem solving, and ability to help students gain confidence in challenging subjects.
In addition to her teaching background, Jazzmyn has contributed to curriculum design projects, developed culturally relevant educational materials, and created supplemental resources to support diverse learners. She believes that every student can thrive when they feel supported and encouraged, and she tailors her approach to meet each child’s unique needs and learning style.
Outside of tutoring, Jazzmyn enjoys traveling, exploring Austin’s coffee shops, and spending time with family and friends. She finds working with students deeply rewarding and is committed to helping them achieve both their academic goals and long-term success.

Lisa has a bachelor’s degree from The University of Pittsburgh majoring in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. Lisa began her teaching experience very early as a tutor then an adjunct professor at a community college. After moving to Florida in 2019, Lisa obtained her teaching certification through the Florida Department of Education in Mathematics 6-12, Exceptional Student Education, Physical Education 6-12, Elementary Education and ESOL. Lisa has been employed with the Sarasota County School District since 2022 and has experience working on staff in the classroom as an ESE and mathematics teacher both in middle and high school. She currently teaches high school Mathematics at a charter school in Manatee county full time. Lisa has three children and enjoys time at the beach, tennis, skiing and reading in her spare time.

He has over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring science, physics, and mathematics to high school and CEGEP students in both English and French.

Zachary M.
Zachary M. is presently in his last year of his study for his dual masters in math and physics at UTSA. Some may say that in doing so, he is trying to prolong his adolescence and avoid adulthood. But truth be told, Zach is very passionate about his studies. This was not always the case. Admittedly, Zach was mathematically challenged in middle school (his mom would help him with his algebra homework). But something clicked for him in high school. He took every AP math and science class that he could and went so far as to participate in academic UIL. After graduation from high school, Zach began studying math and physics at UTSA. He took up a job as a physics tutor on a whim but came to discover that he really enjoys helping people learn. Now as a graduate student, Zach teaches introductory physics labs. In doing so, he does his best to accommodate all of his students while simultaneously emphasizing the mathematical and theoretical underpinnings of physics.
