Jimin K.
Jimin K. is a certified teacher with 3 years of classroom experience and is continuing onto her 4th year. She grew up in Montgomery County and completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Maryland, College Park. With a strong background in education, she has also gained extensive experience in tutoring, specializing in working with students from 4th through 9th grade, particularly in math. Her passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom. She has actively participated in educational boot camps and enrichment programs and will continue to do so this summer. She has also embraced virtual tutoring, utilizing a variety of tools to tailor lessons that meet individual learning styles and needs. In her spare time, Jimin works one-on-one with students, helping them strengthen their skills in math, test preparation, and overall academic confidence. She believes that by building strong relationships with her students, she can better support their learning and growth. RINOKO M.
Rinoko is an Elementary School Teacher with a Master’s degree in Education, specializing in Language and Literacies. Passionate about teaching and language, she has worked with elementary students across subjects such as Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies. With a strong background in ESL instruction, Rinoko is dedicated to helping students build confidence in their reading, writing, and communication skills.
Throughout her teaching journey, she has developed a deep passion for working with children and fostering their academic growth. Her approach focuses on making learning engaging and interactive, using creative methods to meet each student’s unique needs. Rinoko enjoys incorporating play-based activities and encouraging students to collaborate through group learning experiences. She believes that building strong relationships with her students is key to their success and continually refines her teaching strategies to support their growth.

Joshua is a Math-Computer Science major at University of California San Diego with a strong passion for helping students succeed. He has several years of experience mentoring and tutoring from elementary to college level. He is also currently a mentor for first year students at UCSD. Joshua specializes in Mathematics and STEM subjects, and is naturally skilled in breaking down questions to an understandable concept. He comes with an approach of patience and encouragement, and understands that every student is different, adapting when needed. She helped lead her school’s shift to the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum, a program designed to help students truly understand math—not just memorize steps.
Katrina G.
Katrina has 5 years of experience teaching and tutoring in STEM. She has taught introductory biology college courses and tutored grades 2-12 in mathematics. Katrina obtained her PhD in Molecular Biosciences from Washington State University. She also has her B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Sonoma State University of California.
Katrina has a passion for sharing her knowledge of science with others. She loves creating scientific content including visuals which help others better understand various scientific topics. Katrina understands everyone learns differently and personalizing the learning experience to each student is important to bring out their potential. JoAnn C.
JoAnn graduated from the University Maryland and earned a masters degree in Education from Marymount University and a Ph.D. in Genetics from GWU. She has taught a variety of subjects in K-8th grade for more than 10 years. Her specialties are writing, math, science, STEM and computer skills. JoAnn adapts teaching techniques to each student, helping them achieve mastery. She is passionate about building the foundations, explaining concepts thoroughly and making sure a comprehensive understanding has been achieved. In her free time, JoAnn enjoys tennis, traveling, dogs, and spending time with her family.
Terri M.
A dedicated education professional with a passion for fostering student growth and development, Mrs. Myers brings her diverse professional background and small business and current position as a licensed teacher of English Language Learners to offer strategic intervention for reading, executive functions, and tutoring. Mrs. Myers holds a master’s degree in Applied Psychology and Religion from Liberty University and is currently pursuing her doctorate in curriculum and instruction with a leadership focus.
Trained through the Orton Gillingham Academy, Mrs. Myers delivers highly effective, structured, and multisensory methods designed to teach literacy skills, particularly for individuals with dyslexia. This approach is characterized by its direct, explicit, sequential, and cumulative instruction, which breaks down reading and spelling into smaller, manageable skills. It emphasizes the use of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways to enhance learning. This method is not only beneficial for one-on-one tutoring but also adaptable for small group and classroom settings, making it a versatile tool for educators aiming to improve literacy outcomes for all students.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Myers enjoys a variety of hobbies that enrich her life and provide a well-rounded perspective. Gardening is a favorite pastime, offering a peaceful retreat and a chance to connect with nature. She loves to pair fresh garden ingredients with her love for cooking. An avid reader, she enjoys exploring new genres and authors, always eager to dive into a good book.
Spending time with her husband and beloved dogs is another cherished activity, bringing joy and companionship to her daily routine. Whenever possible, Mrs. Myers loves to travel, seeking out new adventures and experiences that broaden her horizons and inspire her teaching.

François-Michel L.
François-Michel L. discovered his love of teaching and tutoring when he taught a computer class while still in high school and has resided in the Washington DC area since 1991. He graduated with High Honors from Princeton University with an AB in Classics and wrote his senior thesis on ancient Greek epic poems (it wasn’t all Greek to him ). He then obtained an MSE degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a sought-after tutor in both French and Computer Science. After graduating, he worked for ten years as an IT director at Fannie Mae before becoming a Scientific Systems Developer at the National Institutes of Health. At every job he has worked, he has had the great privilege of teaching technical and/or business classes to junior staff and providing one-on-one coaching as a corporate mentor. He is known as a dynamic and entertaining presenter and public speaker, holds both French and American citizenship, and is qualified to teach and tutor English, French, Latin, Math, and Linux. François is also allergic to cats, so please let him know if you have furry feline friends so he can take his allergy eyedrops ahead of time!
Addaline D.
Addaline Durham has been passionate about education and mentorship from a young age, beginning her tutoring journey in middle school as part of a peer buddy system. Since then, she has accumulated years of experience working with students of all ages, from early childhood to college-level peers. Throughout high school and college, Addaline continued to tutor a diverse range of learners, providing personalized academic support to help students build confidence and achieve their goals. She has experience tutoring a wide variety of subjects, including Spanish, which she taught at a language learning camp, as well as English, college algebra, biology, political science, and math.

Caleb is from Billings, Montana and was the first Native American Valedictorian at West High School. He has mentored and tutored high school students for nearly a decade to help them prepare for and apply to college. A few of the elite universities his students have been accepted to are: Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, and Amherst College. Caleb has a M.A in Native Food Systems from Montana State University and a B.A in Environmental Studies from Amherst College. His relevant professional career experience has ranged from being a college prep coach to working as a graduate research and teaching assistant. Having recently graduated, he is young enough to relate to your child while being old enough to have the lived experience to share. Caleb believes that academic success comes from a holistic understanding of one’s personal goals and playing off of one’s strengths. Outside of work he enjoys camping, trivia, and getting friends together to play board games.
