Christopher O.

Chris is a fun, hardworking, tutor with many years of experience working both as freelance tutor and in a center. He comes from a Math background taking all the academic levels in high school as well as Studying at York University. He specializes in all grades of Math from 1-12, as well as working with all learning difficulties.

With years of experience, he has learned a simple and easy way for kids to understand difficult concepts and makes it enjoyable. Understanding Math can be challenging, Chris likes to help make it seem easy and simple for all to understand.

Many of Chris’ passions are Music, Basketball, Football, Cooking, and Anime! One of the key strengths he possesses is patience. Math can be overwhelming and being patient with students learning concepts, makes an excellent tutor. Chris believes in building confidence with students helps them succeed and want to learn more. He is very passionate about teaching and loves helping others feel accomplished and ready for all problems!

Casey Moffett

Casey is an accomplished tutor with a diverse academic background: dual Bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Mathematics, a Master’s of Science in Applied Mathematics (with a minor in Astrophysics), Casey brings a wealth of knowledge to his tutoring lessons.

With over a decade of experience as a math instructor and possessing a Level 2 tutoring certificate, Casey is adept at teaching in both classroom and one-on-one settings.

His expertise extends beyond traditional mathematics; Casey’s research and publications span complex domains such as computer science, operations research, software engineering, data science, and the application of artificial intelligence, showcasing his ability to translate mathematical concepts into real-world applications.

What sets Casey apart is his philosophy-driven approach to teaching mathematics, enabling him to establish meaningful connections with his students and ignite their passion for learning.

Beyond academia, Casey holds a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, reflecting his commitment to discipline and excellence in all endeavors.

ANIS E.

Anis is a high school math Teacher with vast knowledge for grades 9-12. He has experience teaching Canadian and American curriculum. Anis prepares students for SATs. Teaching advanced math including grade 12 calculus & vectors, Finite math, precalculus, algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry. His teaching methodology is making math relatable and fun through multiple strategies.

Leah P.

Leah is a second year college student at College of Dupage. Prior to this semester, Leah was majoring in applied mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder, and still very much enjoys math despite stepping away from it as a major. While at Colorado and in high school at Downers Grove North, Leah took Calculus 1-3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Statistics, Fourier Series/Boundary Value Problems, and various other engineering and science classes. Leah enjoys helping kids to understand math and learn to enjoy it as they have throughout their academic life. Tutoring allows Leah to keep math in their life as well as help others, two things that make them happy. Leah understands that each student understands things differently, and they are able to cater their teaching style and explanations to meet each student’s needs. As Leah is still a student themselves, they are very understanding and will work to make sure each student feels heard as well as answer any and all questions they might have. Outside of school, Leah likes to read, do puzzles, work out, and discover new music.

David H.

For over a decade David has taught at various institutions of higher education such as Eastern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University – Carbondale, Loyola University Chicago, and Morton College. In additions, he has provided academic support through tutoring to all types and levels of students. After receiving his B.S. in mathematics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, David pursued his M.A. in mathematics from Eastern Illinois University where he cemented his passion for teaching and decided to attend Southern Illinois University – Carbondale for his M.S.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. During his career, he has presented at local and national conferences on original STEM curriculum that incorporates problem solving and critical thinking skills to scaffold traditional lessons in mathematics and mathematics education. David has also developed a passion for social justice and hopes to create an inclusive and welcoming education experience. Currently he holds the position of Academic Specialist at Rush University Medical Center.

Ashley R.

Growing up in the vibrant city of Nashville, TN, Ashley always harbored a profound thirst for knowledge and a genuine desire to help others. From her earliest days, she displayed a natural curiosity about the world, eagerly immersing herself in books and engaging in stimulating conversations with friends and family.

Upon completing high school, Ashley set her sights on higher education at the prestigious University of Miami. Pursuing a degree in Psychology, she embarked on a journey of exploration, diving into a diverse array of subjects including Spanish and literature. As Ashley delved deeper into her studies, she felt a calling to use her knowledge to empower others. Recognizing the transformative potential of education, she decided to focus on tutoring and teaching fellow students. Starting with volunteering opportunities on campus, Ashley quickly became known for her exceptional ability to connect with students and simplify complex concepts.

After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Miami, Ashley continued her educational journey at the University of West Florida, where she obtained a Masters in Applied Behavior Analysis. This further solidified her dedication to making a positive impact through education.

Brian N.

Brian N. is a current teacher at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute and Baccalaureate School (IB Program) in Kitchener, Ontario. He currently teaches grade 9, 10 and 12 math at the school, but has tutored and is comfortable with all Ontario mathematics content (JK- Calculus, IB and beyond!). His qualifications are as follows: Primary, Junior, Intermediate Senior Division Teachable, as well as Intermediate Mathematics and History, as well as Senior qualifications in Music. He is eager to come along side the PAT team and help students.

CONNOR W.

Connor is a University of Toronto graduate where he majored in Financial Economics and minored in Philosophy and Political Science. Post graduation he worked in the financial sector at RBC getting to know the ins and outs of the Toronto financial scene. Connor has always had a passion for tutoring, growing up with 2 younger siblings and always being more than happy to jump in and help with homework duty. Connor is also a swim instructor and enjoys teaching all different age groups. He enjoys getting to know students on a more personal level and values the importance of teaching in a learning style that best suits the student, as everyone learns differently. Fun fact about Connor, he currently lives in New Zealand where he moved in 2023 along with his cat.

TALFRYN J.

Talfryn is a certified teacher in both the UK and Alberta, boasting over 20 years of experience working with a diverse array of students across various abilities and subjects. Beginning his career with a strong foundation in Science and Math, he quickly diversified into teaching humanities at different academic levels.

His expertise extends to catering to the needs of both typical and atypical (LD) students, allowing him to customize approaches that bolster individual student confidence in their learning journey. Through his role as a learning coach, Talfryn has successfully supported students operating below grade level, adeptly closing learning gaps and fostering academic progress relative to their peers.

His proficiency in executive functioning skills has significantly contributed to alleviating student stress levels. By assisting them in effectively planning their study time, managing homework, and completing assignments, Talfryn ensures a manageable and structured approach to their academic responsibilities.
