Ava B.
With two years experience tutoring students, Ava has guided many of them in gaining reading and math skills. Elementary students are amazing. They are competent enough to take direction on how they can improve and implement strategies to succeed at school. Any deficiencies are promptly addressed. High school students are intriguing because they are just around the corner from attending college, which she finds genuinely exciting. Her background includes a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She was a professional Cancer Registrar and recently earned her Certification as a Montessori Primary Guide for ages 3-6. She has an excellent command of Math, including Algebra and Geometry, as well as Science and Biology.
Madeline B.
Madeline has been tutoring mathematics since she was in high school. She graduated from University of Idaho in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and has been working in academic intervention at the secondary level since then. She believes the “Eureka!” moments students have when they finally understand something are the most beautiful and magical thing in the world. She believes it is important to treat students as the multi-faceted individuals they are, spiral in old material when teaching the new, and try new approaches if a student does not understand something. Madeline attends game nights every Sunday, book club every Wednesday, and paints when she can find the time.

EMMA N.
Emma graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. She is moving to Toronto this summer to start her Master’s in Translational Health Sciences at the University of Toronto. Emma started tutoring in 2020 as a summer school tutor for the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board under the Focus On Youth Program. While with the WECDSB, she tutored students in grades 11 and 12 in math, Civics/careers, and an ESL (English as a second language) student in grade 11 English. She also gained ample experience tutoring students with learning disabilities, such as processing delays, and tutoring AP and IB courses. Emma enjoyed tutoring so much with WECDSB that she became a private tutor. Since then, she has specialized in tutoring high school and post-secondary students in math, chemistry, and biology. She tailors her lessons individually to each of her students and uses practical, real-life examples to explain concepts. Emma strives to instill the skills and confidence her students need to succeed, not just in the classroom but also in life. Emma enjoys watching anime, reading, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family in her spare time.

Ajit P.
For Ajit, teaching runs in the family. His grandparents on both sides were accomplished educators, teaching in both grade schools and universities. Ajit got his first taste of tutoring by helping his younger sister with math in high school. While earning his PhD in Chemical Engineering at LSU, he taught classes and tutored undergraduate students. During his successful 25-year career at ExxonMobil, he honed his ability to explain complex ideas to broad audiences by leading workshops and teaching sessions for engineers and managers.
An avid nature lover, Ajit has hiked in the Himalayas and throughout the U.S., with the Smoky Mountains being a favorite for him and his family. In his spare time, he enjoys classical music, playing chess, and reading. Ajit is looking forward to inspiring students to discover how understanding math and science can be both fun and deeply rewarding.
