KATHLEEN P.

Kathleen is currently a 10th year teacher with RVS. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and a Masters of Education specializing in Special Education. Junior High and Senior High Math and Sciences are Kathleen’s speciality. She has tutored students from Junior High to College level for over 7 years. She really enjoys helping students find success in their courses and finding ways to engage and motivate them to reach their goals.

Michael R.

Mr. Ritter has a Masters in Teaching & Learning from McGill University to go along with his Biology & Sciences background. Teaching has been a career change for Mr. Ritter, and so he also comes with lots of life experiences, which helps him relate and connect to students and the course material. Mr. Ritter certainly has a love for learning and specifically a passion for the sciences, which he strives to instill into his students.

Lucia M.

Lucia is an enthusiastic and patient educator that specializes in STEM, specifically in the sciences (biology) and social sciences. Lucia earned her Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and is currently completing her final year of teachers education at Niagara University (Ontario Campus). She has been tutoring for 5 years in both private and structured settings. Lucia aims to continue sharing her genuine passion for STEM and social sciences through inspiring and supporting the learning needs of all students. Lucia believes that through a wholistic framework and ongoing dialogue between all stakeholders, students can achieve greatness and thrive.

Priyanka C.

Priyanka is a Senior Analyst at the Canadian Institute for Health Information, and a recent graduate of the Masters of Health Informatics program from the University of Toronto. She grew up in Toronto and Mississauga and completed her undergraduate degree in neuroscience and psychology from the University of Toronto. Priyanka has a deep love for travel and the arts. She had the opportunity to explore several beautiful countries where she presented her work in infectious disease and tropical medicine. She was a Teacher’s Assistant for Organic Chemistry and Biology; it was through these experiences she fostered her love for Science. She is also a trained dancer and continues to learn as well as teach beginners. In the past, Priyanka worked one-on-one with children ranging from middle school to high school. She believes in creating individualized learning plans for each of her students so she is better able to meet their needs and grow their learning, as well as help them in reaching their personal academic goals; a concept she is very passionate about. Priyanka is also passionate about sustainability, healthcare, and technology

LYN O.

Lyn Ogilvy is an Ontario Certified Teacher. Lyn grew up in Montreal and completed her Honours Wildlife Biology Degree and her Bachelor of Education in Ontario. Lyn spent a memorable first year teaching in New Zealand, where she discovered a passion for teaching and took advantage of the extraordinary outdoor activities she loves. Lyn has taught High School Science for over 30 years in Ontario, coaching and chaperoning outdoor education trips throughout her career. As an experienced High School Science Teacher, Lyn has extensive experience teaching and illustrating science concepts in a variety of ways that caters to individual student needs. She was a team leader in developing course materials for Grades 11 and 12 Biology with an emphasis on the development of a creative approach to the illustration of complex biological processes. She also worked closely with school librarians to develop curriculum to enhance student research skills and critical thinking. Former students of Lyn have reconnected with her to share their appreciation for excellent University preparation. Lyn’s enthusiasm for teaching science is due to her love to share the wonder of science and the natural world.

Christine L.

Christine J. Loh, PMP, ISTQB certified and is a Manager of Data Science at a tech start-up. A former national mathematics contest competitor from Toronto, Ontario, she earned her bachelors from the University of Toronto. Her students come from a diverse background and needs (AP/IB/remedial/SAT/SSAT/PSAT/GMAT/competitions ie. Caribou, Canadian Math League, Waterloo contests, Kangaroo, Beaver etc) She collaborates with parents, tutoring companies, consultants, and organizations to promote mathematics excellence and equity for young people. Her students have gained interviews to the University of Toronto Schools, scored in the top 2-15% of admission tests, top 7-30% of worldwide/national math contests. top 7% in Ontario, and top 10% in Peel District School Board. Christine has been recognized as the Tutor of the Month, for her efforts. She has also published an article in “Authority Magazine” entitled “5 Things You Need To Know To Be A Highly Effective Educator”. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, chess, travelling, and playing the violin.

BEN G.

Ben teaches chemistry and biology at the nationally ranked Westhampton Beach High School on the East End of Long Island where he has been for the past twenty five years. He has taught AP Chemistry for the last 15 years and AP Biology for the past 6 years. Ben wrote and implemented the curriculum for freshman and sophomores to take AP Biology and AP Chemistry in consecutive years. Ben has been a private tutor for almost 30 years. Ben has a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from Dowling College and Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts.

 

Caleb C.

Caleb Creasor is a third year university student at Lehigh University majoring in Biology. He has been on the Dean’s list for three consecutive semesters while also balancing being an NCAA Division 1 Lacrosse player. He is a St. Andrew’s College Alumni graduating in 2018 on the Headmaster’s Honour Roll.
While at SAC, Caleb was MacDonald House captain where he mentored and supported middle school boarding students. Through his time at SAC and now at Lehigh, Caleb has developed a passion for teaching others. He is currently spending his summer coaching lacrosse, tutoring and volunteering at the Huntsville Animal Hospital.
Caleb has completed university level coursework in physics, calculus, biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry and neuroscience. He is looking forward to sharing his passion for learning and his love for math and science with his future students.

Eileen L.

Eileen is a Clinical Research Coordinator for both the Neurology and the Interventional Neuroradiology departments at the University Health Network. She has a master’s degree in Medical Science, as well as an Honour’s bachelor’s in science – both with a specialization in Neuroscience. As someone who has been praised for her interpersonal skills, Eileen interacts with students differently depending on their knowledge, personality, interests, and other information she obtains throughout their interaction. She believes it is always important to listen and understand what the student is struggling with. For her students to not be afraid to share their thoughts, she always takes the non-judgmental approach and reinforces the idea of a safe and comfortable tutoring environment with her students. Students who have been tutored by Eileen in the past often compliment her capability to explain difficult concepts, and this is mainly because she understands their weakness and knows how to target that. During her spare time, Eileen likes to run, read, sing, and play musical instruments.

Christina C.

Christina is currently completing an Honours Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto. She specializes in Health and Disease which focusses on subjects such as biology, chemistry, and biochemistry. She has achieved a Dean’s List Scholar status and has been awarded numerous academic scholarships for her excellence in the sciences.
Christina has tutored many students ranging from elementary to high school students in both academic and advanced placement science courses, both in one-on-one and small group settings. She often receives positive feedback from her students as she is able to clarify complicated concepts in a manner that is easy to understand. Christina is currently looking to tutor any prospective students in need of assistance in the sciences. She is looking forward to engaging with her new students to promote their academic success and confidence in the sciences.
