Jared B.

Jared is currently a secondary teacher in the Toronto District School Board. He has numerous qualifications: Economics, History, Law, Social Science, Intermediate Math, and Special Education I and II. He is especially interested in the relationship between executive functioning and student success. Moreover, he has taught Accounting and Business Studies. He completed a B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Guelph, as well as his B.Ed. from OISE. He is truly a lifelong student; currently, he is working towards a Digital Analytics Certificate at George Brown. When not teaching or tutoring, he spends much of his free time playing chess.

Shanna B.

Shanna earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2019 where she specialized in Accounting. She is working towards completing a B.Sc. and is currently studying to write the MCAT. Shanna’s goal is to go to medical school and earn her M.D.

Shanna’s positive attitude and outgoing personality make working with her fun! Shanna wants to help her students feel that things finally “click”! Her goal is always to help students feel confident about what they can do. Shanna loves to work with people and has many years of experience working with youth in summer camps, weekly youth programs, and tutoring up to the university level.

In her free time Shanna enjoys being active and social. She enjoys travelling, yoga, dance, gymnastics, soccer, music, singing, and she is learning to play the guitar.

Jan S.

Jan is a graduate of the Ted Rogers School of Management – Ryerson University and earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Management with a double major in Human Resource Management and Marketing Management. After his time at Ryerson, he attended Tyndale University to obtain his Bachelor of Education degree with qualifications in Primary & Junior divisions. Since graduating, Jan has obtained his Intermediate – Business, Senior – Business and Religion part 1 additional qualifications.

Jan believes that in any learning environment, students need to feel safe in order to build the confidence they need in order to achieve their academic goals as they progress through their learning journey.

Aside from teaching and tutoring, Jan spends his free time coaching a wide variety of school sports, watching sports, snowboarding and refereeing basketball as a certified basketball official through the Canadian Basketball Official’s Commission.

KRISTINA Z.

Kristina recently obtained her Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from the University of Calgary. She is
goal-driven, ambitious and eager to learn and share her knowledge and academic experience with students. She has over two years of teaching assistant experience in Managerial Accounting and MBA Business Technology courses at the University of Calgary. She has extensive tutoring experience working with junior high and high school students primarily in math. Kristina loves supporting students work towards their goals to reach academic success to their highest potential.

Sean M.

Hello, I’m Sean!

I graduated from the concurrent education program at Brock University. This means that I have my bachelor of education as well as my bachelor of arts in integrated studies with honors. I also have 4 years of teaching experience which was acquired from various schools in Canada as well as the United Kingdom. I’m a licensed teacher in Ontario as well as the United Kingdom with teaching designations in the junior, intermediate and senior streams.

I specialize in English and history. This means that I am able to help your child improve their reading, writing, and speaking capabilities in order to prepare them for university or to help them achieve a higher mark in their course. I have taught grade 11 and 12 English numerous times, meaning that I have developed lessons, activities and worksheets specifically designed to help and improve a student’s essay writing.

Having 3 years experience working with international students, I am confident in my ability to help your child if English is their second language.

CAROLINE V.

Caroline is a College Professor and Professional Tutor (in both Academics & Life Skills). She has taught and tutored for over eight years; teaching English, Communications, Business, and Arts courses across multiple faculties at various Ontario Colleges. She has also taught in Germany and South East Asia (Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam), and enjoys working as a Copywriter for clients in various industries too.

Caroline is extremely compassionate, open-minded, attentive, and supportive; these innate qualities led her naturally into teaching/tutoring. She is well-experienced teaching & tutoring students from a range of diverse backgrounds and abilities, which includes students with IEPs.

Caroline is also an experienced Life Coach who is able to support students holistically. She is passionate about helping students who struggle not only with the substance of their studies; but also, with attention issues, organizational issues, time-management issues, and overall issues which prevent them from completing their academic work smoothly. She cares deeply about each of her student’s journeys, and uses meaningful, effective resources & strategies to help students improve in and practice core life skills. She is extremely encouraging of small, tiny steps of progress. In helping students with core skills, she aims to bring positivity to other corners of the student’s life i.e. the quality of their academic work, their ability to resolve conflict better, their ability to lessen the negative impact from issues they face, etc.

When it’s not 2020, Caroline enjoys seeing live music of all genres; she also plays piano and guitar. She enjoys comedy, basketball & the NBA, dancing, cooking, and engaging with other people on their ideas and experiences. She is very passionate about creating a more equitable world for all, and is constantly adding great examples to her list of things we can do each day to make this world a more compassionate and caring environment for all peoples and animals.

HARDEEP S.

Hardeep is a graduate of University of Toronto with a degree in Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in Chemical Engineering. He also holds a Certificate in Engineering Business with a focus on Financial Accounting and Corporate Finance. He currently works as a Financial Controller at Labatt Breweries. Teaching is Hardeep’s one of many passions which he has been pursuing since Grade 12. His teaching style has evolved into a personalized student-centred approach which makes learning difficult concepts easier and fun. In his free time, Hardeep loves to read mystery novels, cook extravagant dinners for his friends and travel to the Cottage country (weather permitting).
