Jenna W.

Jenna is a professional photographer and previous graduate of the Honours Bachelor of Photography program at Sheridan College. During her time at Sheridan, she gained valuable experience in both production and post production. Jenna also performed highly in courses such as Professional Business Practices and History of Photography. In her free time, she enjoys going on hikes with her dog and taking photos of nature.

Yechan L.

Yechan is an accomplished educational professional with over two years of tutoring and mentorship experience, specializing in Chemistry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biological Engineering from Konkuk University in Seoul, South Korea. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in International Business Management at Greystone College in British Columbia, Canada.

Yechan has a proven track record of creating engaging and inclusive learning environments that drive student success. During his time as a private tutor in Seoul, he developed customized curricula in Chemistry, English, and Mathematics, which resulted in a 35% improvement in student grades. His strong communication skills also allowed him to build effective relationships with students and their parents, offering tailored academic guidance.

In addition to his teaching experience, Yechan has worked as a lab assistant at Konkuk University, where he managed research teams, ensured lab safety, and maintained equipment for accurate experimentation. Jimmy D.

An educator with over 14 years of teaching experience with a profound passion for empowering minds. Jimmy has taught with Ontario public school boards since 2011. He also has experience teaching overseas in South Korea and Taiwan.

Jimmy has a Master of Arts in International Economics and Finance from Toronto Metropolitan University, on top of his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from York University. He is also a certified teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers, and has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto.

In his free time, Jimmy is very active and spends his time playing soccer, baseball, and hockey (depending on the seasons).

 

JENNIFER M.

Meet Jenn! She has an undergrad degree in Business Management with a focus on Stats & French and is currently a teacher candidate at Lakehead University completing her Bachelor of Education. Jenn has worked with elementary students, covers all elementary subjects, and is very strong in Math & French. She has tutored students in Math & French to G12 and is very familiar with the Ontario curriculum. Through her teaching placements with the school board & her experience working at the YMCA, Jenn has developed skills in classroom management & varying teaching techniques. Jenn has a great rapport with her students and adapts her teaching style to all kinds of learners.

Daniel is a world-renowned Economist and a Professor at top Universities and Academic Schools in Canada, Dubai and around the world. He did his MA in Development and International Economics from University of London, his MBA from Northwestern University, Chicago and Professional Financial Planning (PFP) from Canadian Securities Institute. He is also author of an International Best-Selling book on business called ‘Managing the Unthinkable’.

LAXSHAA N.

Laxshaa N. is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in education, data analysis, digital content management, fitness, and nutrition. She holds a Master of Education specializing in Assessment & Evaluation, a Master of Management Analytics from Queen’s University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Honors Psychology and Criminal Justice & Public Policy from the University of Guelph. Laxshaa is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Leadership at Walden University.

She is currently a Student Success Project Manager at Centennial College, where she leads and manages quality assurance initiatives, develops comprehensive surveys, conducts environmental scans, and presents data-driven insights to enhance student success. Her expertise in data visualization techniques and statistical studies has been instrumental in improving advising operations and student engagement at the college.

Moreover, as a Professor of Marketing in the School of Business, she teaches various courses related to market research and analytics, has designed curricula, implemented active learning strategies, and created experiential learning opportunities, ensuring alignment with industry standards and academic excellence.

Outside of her professional life, Laxshaa is a fitness enthusiast, certified personal trainer, and nutrition coach. She enjoys promoting a healthy lifestyle and incorporates her love for cooking into her nutrition coaching. This passion for fitness and well-being complements her dedication to her professional work and personal growth.

MICHELLE N.

Michelle is an Ontario-certified Intermediate/Senior (Math and Accounting) and IB MYP (Math) teacher with additional qualifications in Family Studies, Junior, Co-op and Guidance, English as a Second Language, and Special Education. She graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts and earned her Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University. Over the last decade, Michelle taught at international schools in Asia, including six years as an Accounting and Math teacher to non-native English speakers in Tianjin, China, and Selangor, Malaysia. She recently returned home to Toronto after teaching MYP Math at a leading international IB school in Beijing, China, for three years.

Michelle has extensive experience working with students who need additional academic support or skill development, as well as those looking to extend their learning beyond classroom content. Her strengths include identifying areas where students struggle or lack key skills, and helping them develop these skills and concepts through personalized instruction. Known for her friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor, Michelle is currently teaching at the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, watching documentaries, and spending time with friends.

ANTHONY M.

Anthony Mayadunne is a multi-disciplinary educator up to the university level in Mathematics (ALM, Harvard), English (MA, UBC), and Business (MBA, U of T). He is passionate about delivering a focused and exciting learning experience to his students—whether they are in Grade 6 … or pursuing their PhD. He is also a SAT trainer (integrating both English and Mathematics sections), and University Admissions Coach for undergraduate and graduate programs, having placed many students in leading universities around the world. When invited to teach Calculus in Engineering Outreach programs (Gr 9 – 12) at U of T Engineering, he developed an engaging approach to teach a famously challenging subject: Calculus. Later, completing his Masters in Mathematics for Teaching, he specialized in teaching Calculus to meet rigorous standards: AP/IB Calculus, Engineering Mathematics, and Mathematics in Arts & Science. His warm and engaging manner has led him to mentor many students in their academic and professional careers. He hopes to persuade the world that all people (including parents) are innate mathematicians, and that Calculus can bring as profound joy as Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony, or Maurice Sendak’s Night Kitchen. So far, he has succeeded with about 50 people, and optimistically looks forward to the still 8 billion more people to go.
He has traveled extensively, living for many years in Japan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and Ethiopia, and uses these experiences to write short stories, essays and poems. He describes himself in four verbs: I teach, I travel, I read, and sometimes, I write.

JUSTIN R.

Justin Riley is an OCT-certified teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring elementary and high school students. Currently he is working in the York Region District School Board (YRDSB). He holds an undergraduate degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Science in Education from Medaille College. Justin is highly qualified in Social Sciences, Accounting, Economics, Business, and English courses. He believes in integrating humor and culturally relevant pedagogy to connect with students, making content relatable and enjoyable for all learners. AMAL S.

Amal is a goal-driven professional educator with a PhD in Economics and a Master’s in Finance and Banking, boasting 15 years of experience in teaching Economics and Business Administration courses. She is adept at planning, delivering, and adapting course curricula and teaching styles in both English and French to optimize student learning. Amal has successfully instructed and mentored over 60 students in a multicultural setting, employing Active Learning methodologies and integrating technology to enhance classroom experiences.

With a passion for education, Amal has contributed significantly to various educational settings. She has served as a Mathematics and Sciences Teacher at La Citadelle Academy of Sciences and Arts, where she instructed curriculum in French for students in grades 3 to 5, implementing innovative teaching strategies to engage students in a bilingual environment. Additionally, she has worked as a Teaching Assistant at Concordia University, developing and teaching Economics and Business Administration courses. She is also currently involved in the Teaching Assistant Program at the University of Toronto and is a Private French Tutor, providing personalized tutoring sessions to enhance critical thinking skills and concentration in French Immersion programs.
