JAE J.

Jae is working on concurrent degrees majoring in Education and Mathematics. She has a vast array of experience with students of all ages from Kindergarten to High School. She has worked with younger students through her volunteer work and in high school through after-school programs, tutoring and summer camps. Currently, Jae works with students ages 2-6 every Sunday through her church’s Sunday School program and tutors high school math students on the side. Jae has also completed the International Baccalaureate, where she studied higher level Mathematics, English, and Economics. Jae’s passion is helping her students feel confident in their learning and in themselves.

Omar B.

Omar holds a bachelor of business administration from ESADE Business School and a master’s degree in hospitality management from Les Roches. Additionally, he is completing his bachelor’s degree in education at the University of Ottawa in the junior and intermediate divisions. His main didactic is mathematics. He likes to listen to his students and their needs to provide them with quality teaching leading to their academic or professional goals. Also, if you need to improve your language skills he will certainly help you as he speaks French, English, Spanish and Arabic. He taught French to federal government employees during two years so he has experience preparing students to reach the level of comfort needed to pass both oral and written exams.

HAITHAM F.

Haitham majored in math and statistics, and also has a Bachelors of Commerce from York University. He enjoys helping others and found he has a knack for explaining math concepts and used that in his work for several tutoring companies during his undergraduate years as well as afterwards. After amassing considerable experience he was hired as a high school math teacher at several private high schools in the North York and Vaughan area.

Haitham believes in a patient, positive and fun learning environment. His goal is to have a positive impact on his students’ educational life and have fun doing it.

ELISE D.

Elise Desbordes is a Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto, who has traveled far and wide to pursue her passion for sciences. Growing up in a quaint French village and surviving the demanding engineering studies in Paris, she brings a unique perspective to her tutoring efforts. With three years of experience helping high school and undergraduate students in sciences, she is driven by her love for teaching and the art of turning confusion into clarity and stress into success. Elise’s infectious enthusiasm and caring personality create a positive learning environment and inspire her students to build confidence in their unique abilities. She is committed to making learning fun and fulfilling to help her students achieve their full potential and succeed both academically and personally. In her spare time, Elise likes to engage with new people and enjoys playing rugby or any other outdoor sports with her friends.

RANA M.

Rana graduated with a Bachelor of Science (honors), majoring in theoretical physics and with minors in mathematics and statistics. In addition, Rana holds a Bachelor in applied Biotechnology with distinction with concentration in biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, microbiology, genetic engineering, biophysics, organic and inorganic chemistry, bioinformatics and biostatistics among others.

Rana has tutored for many years across science subjects at school and university level, including teaching English as a second language. His teaching approach focuses on an intuition-based foundation building suited to the individual learning style and level of the student. With this approach, students come on board as teammates in a supportive and stress-free learning environment.

Apart from speaking fluently and tutoring students in both English and French, he has fluency in Bengali, Hindi and Urdu as well as reading comprehension in Spanish, Arabic, Persian and Italian. He also has an excellent mastery of history in general and the history of science in particular. Rana resides in Ottawa where he has lived for over 20 years, enjoying biking in the summer and skating in the winter.

Jad has a Bachelor of Science graduated with honors as well as a Medical doctor- MD degree graduated with distinction. Finally, Jad holds many certificates, first one accomplished at University of Toronto – Department of psychology (Managing mental health) and the second one is a training certificate in medical lab science/ quality officer. He is a teacher of Math, Chemistry, Biology and physics for more than 9 years. He also taught pre-med courses online during Covid19 (Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Anatomy and physiology).

HANA K.

Hana graduated from the Simon Fraser University with a M.Sc. in Mathematics with a 3.3 GPA. She was born in Iran and took both B.Sc. and M.Sc. certificates in the field of Geometry when she was her my country. Hana am currently taking a Mater’s degree in the field of Algebraic Geometry at Simon Fraser University.

Hana was a teacher assistant for undergraduate students. Besides her studies, she has more than 6 years of experience in a high school environment. Hana has worked with Kumon
and Mathnasium, where she prepared and ran after-school tutoring for students.

As a young child, Hana has always helped her classmates and cousins with their math homework, and enjoyed sitting with them while they were working on their math work and grading their assignments. She is enthusiastic to find out the needs of individual students to enhance learning and promote their continence for educational success.

In her spare time, Hana loves to ride her mountain bike. It’s her favourite way of getting fresh air, boosting her energy and staying motivated. Hana is also passionate about percussion instruments and she enjoys gathering with her friends to play them. Hana believes that creating rhythms motivates students to learn mathematical concepts while studying the underlying structure of a wide range of musical patterns. Mathematics then becomes a creative tool that students use to compose their own rhythmic music.

Amanda N.

Amanda is an OCT certified secondary teacher who focuses on university level math and physics. She has a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Guelph and her Bachelor of Education in I/S Math and Physics from Nipissing University. Amanda also has additional qualifications in biology, social science and integration of technology in the classroom.

Over the last 10 years, Amanda has taught in a variety of different environments including the Northwest Territories, Manitoba, Adult Education and at The National Ski Academy. She now has a permanent job at a local secondary school. Outside of the classroom, Amanda enjoys skiing, hiking and rescuing dogs.

Abenezer T.

Abenezer has a Master’s degree in Applied Computing from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia. He has 4 years of teaching experience accumulated as a private tutor, a teaching assistant, and a math mentor. Currently, Abenezer works as a Machine Learning Engineer at a Voice AI company.
