KAISY R.

Kaisy is an Ontario Certified teacher with a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University specializing in Math, Science and Chemistry as her teachable subjects.

Kaisy is a supply teacher with the school boards and has extensive tutoring experience. Science and Mathematics are a passion that Kaisy enjoys sharing with her students and she loves to help others find a specific interest that inspires learning and provides a different view of the world. Kaisy believes that the specific methodology changes, but the enthusiasm for discovering new things in a way that works for each person is the same. She is continually motivated by the confidence each student gains after accomplishing a difficult task and is committed to helping students develop a love of learning based on their individual interests and specific abilities. Kaisy is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She enjoys hiking, rock climbing and camping and she recently found her new all-time favourite – Bubble Tea!

 

SHUBHRA S.

Shubhra is an engineer with a passion for teaching Math. She has 5 years of experience tutoring high school Math in North America. She is well-versed with all the high school Math courses in the Ontario Curriculum. Currently, she is an in-person full-time Math Tutor at Columbia International College. She caters to high school students across USA and Canada. Shubhra is patient and understanding, and loves to work with students! She enjoys long walks, reading, watching TV and knitting.

 

KIANA N.

Kiana is a dedicated Ph.D. candidate with 5+ years of experience in providing individualized instruction to students of all ages. Skilled in tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering a positive learning environment, and utilizing various teaching methods and strategies. Proven track record of success as a teaching assistant, demonstrating strong communication skills, ability to motivate and encourage students, and patience and understanding.

Shivani J.

Shivani Jain is passionate about helping students excel in math and science. She has 13 years of experience working with middle-school, high-school, and college students.

Shivani has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in math, physics, and chemistry — as well as a master’s degree in International Business.

She is an ideal math tutor for students in algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, calculus (1, 2, AP, AB, and BC), physics, and chemistry. In addition, Shivani thrives on helping middle- and high-school students prepare for Mathcounts and AMC 8/10 competitions.

The belief that everyone has the potential to excel in math and science is what drives Shivani’s dedication to helping her students reach their full potential.

In her spare time, Shivani likes to go out on walks, hikes, enjoy nature, dance, and cook.

GIRISA M.

Girisa is a university math tutor with experience teaching math to both high school and university students. She graduated from Queen’s University in Applied Mathematics and Engineering with First Class Honors, also winning prestigious math awards. Her specialty is calculus and she has covered all levels throughout her undergraduate degree (Level I, II and III). Girisa loves to teach students all the tips and tricks she has learnt throughout her years of school. She is patient, kind, and accommodating, making her a terrific teacher! In her free time she loves exploring the outdoors and doing activities like hiking as she finds it relaxing.

 

NISHANTH B.

Nishanth is currently employed as a Software Engineer. He graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor’s of Engineering. He is extremely passionate about math and science and is always eager to expand his knowledge in these subjects. Nishanth gained experience in mentoring students during his time as a volunteer at the IgniteCS Initiative at McMaster University.

An avid Formula 1 enthusiast, Nishanth thoroughly enjoys delving into the intricate technical details of both the engineering and the sport itself. Beyond his academic and professional interests, he nurtures a love for travel, seeking out new experiences and destinations to broaden his horizons.

Dr. Ingrid U.

Ingrid Ulbrich is a passionate and tenacious educator who believes in the unlimited potential of all students to enjoy and succeed in STEM. In addition to helping students learn math and science, she helps them take ownership of their learning and strengthen their learning skills. Ingrid’s enthusiasm for STEM and learning shines through in all of her interactions with students.

Ingrid is a graduate of Niwot High School, MIT (B.S., Environmental Engineering) and the University of Colorado – Boulder (Ph.D., Atmospheric and Analytical Chemistry). She has 20 years of experience tutoring in STEM subjects, including 10+ years of teaching college chemistry.

When she’s not working with students, Ingrid probably has a spatula, musical score, book, or knitting needles in her hands. And maybe a cat in her lap, too!

 

Kevin W.

Kevin has a Bachelor’s degree in Materials and Nanosciences from the University of Waterloo. He teaches high school chemistry, physics and math and has been a tutor since March 2020. He is currently working as a quality control technician at a coatings company. In his off time he likes to play video games, play music and fish.

Kathir B.

Kathir Brabaharan has a PhD in Chemistry and has been an educator for more than thirty years. He retired as a Curriculum Leader for Mathematics from Sir John A. Macdonald C.I. and went to China for few years as a Mathematics/Physics teacher. Kathir won the Descartes Medal in 2009 for promoting Mathematics across Ontario. He is truly passionate about teaching and learning mathematics and problem solving.

RYAN L.

 Ryan graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BSc in Biochemistry Honors with a 3.9 GPA. He has consistently been in the Dean’s Honors List throughout his education. He spent his directed studies doing research on retrotransposons in S. cerevisiae and his Co-op studies helping to facilitate teaching for students in the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences through learning technologies. He frequently enjoys helping to break down concepts for the people around him.Ryan believes in taking the time to understand the students’ difficulties before proceeding to teaching. He understands that the value in personalized tutoring only comes about once the student has an input in their learning and is actively participating to improve their skills. In Ryan’s free time, he enjoys playing chess, playing guitar, and singing.
