Kevin has a Bachelor’s degree in Materials and Nanosciences from the University of Waterloo. He teaches high school chemistry, physics and math and has been a tutor since March 2020. He is currently working as a quality control technician at a coatings company. In his off time he likes to play video games, play music and fish.
Kathir B.
Kathir Brabaharan has a PhD in Chemistry and has been an educator for more than thirty years. He retired as a Curriculum Leader for Mathematics from Sir John A. Macdonald C.I. and went to China for few years as a Mathematics/Physics teacher. Kathir won the Descartes Medal in 2009 for promoting Mathematics across Ontario. He is truly passionate about teaching and learning mathematics and problem solving.

Alex K.
Alex works with advanced-level students, teaching various topics in mathematics.
Presently she is completing a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics specializing in quantum information at the University of Waterloo. As well she holds an Hon.BSc (Mathematics Specialist) from the University of Toronto.
In her capacity as a graduate teaching assistant, she lectures, runs tutorials and office hours for undergraduate mathematics courses at the University of Waterloo. For those students planning to pursue a STEM education, she can provide academic and career guidance.
In her spare time, she works on experimental physics research projects at the Institute for Quantum Computing developing quantum sensing technologies.
BABAK B-V.
Babak has been teaching mathematics to University and highschool students for more than 10 years. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science in 2008 in Iran. He was a researcher at the Center of Excellence in Biomathematics, University of Tehran. He collaborated in two projects that were published in the Journal of Neurocomputing.
Babak got his master’s degree in Mathematics at Queen’s University in 2016. His field of research is differential geometry and mathematical physics. He wrote his master’s thesis on the Geometry of Dirac Operators.
Babak was a teaching assistant and a research assistant at Queen’s University and Western University. He has been also teaching at the The Bahá’í Institute for Higher Education (BIHE) for more than ten years now. He has taught courses like Differential Equations, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Advanced Engineering Mathematics.
Moreover, Babak teaches mathematics contest preparation classes such as Waterloo Math competitions for three years now. He taught the Putnam Contest preparation class at Western University in 2019 and 2020.
ANDREA R.
Andrea is a fourth year student at the University of Toronto completing a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science, with plans to graduate in 2023. She has IB certificates in Mathematics, Economics, English, and French. Andrea loves working with kids and has been tutoring for the past four years. She has a passion for math and has received the Waterloo Math Contest Certificate of Distinction for Top Scoring 25% of All Competitors in 2016 and 2017. Andrea also enjoys robotics and programming. She won 5th Place Overall at the FLL Robotics World Competition in Arkansas, USA (2015), 4th Place Overall at the FLL Robotics World Competition along with the programming award in Toronto (2014), 2nd Place at the FLL Robotics Provincial Competition (2014 and 2015), and 1st Place at the FLL Robotics Regional Competition in Toronto (2012-2015). In her free time, Andrea enjoys playing the piano and going on walks. Andrea is people oriented, positive, easy going, diplomatic and reliable with excellent leadership skills.
Sorina P.
Sorina is an OCT Certified Teacher who graduated with an Honors Bachelor of Science- Physics from University of Bucharest Romania, and a Bachelor of Education from University of Bucharest and OISE – Intermediate and Senior levels. She is a passionate TDSB High School Teacher holding an Honors Specialist in Mathematics and Physics, and is currently teaching Mathematics at A.Y. Jackson Secondary School.
While working as a Department Head of Mathematics, Sorina launched and led the enriched math program at A. Y. Jackson for over 20 years. Later, working as a Mathematics Curriculum Leader she introduced and expanded the Calculus AP program. All the Calculus AP students she taught over the years obtained A’s in the AP exam, and she coached the grade 11 math team who placed third overall in Canada.
Sorina excels in preparing her students for achieving success in University by “filling in” the gaps left in students’ knowledge by the current curriculum.
Following her passion for private tutoring, Sorina has an exceptional rapport with her students. She has made a difference in many student’s lives through her talent to “make things simple and clear” by helping every child achieve their highest potential and optimum level of confidence. Her years of experience teaching students of every mathematical ability have helped Sorina easily identify each student’s strengths and weaknesses and address their unique needs in an individual plan for success.
Harry S.
Harry has a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto and has nearly completed a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Toronto.Harry has been tutoring students ages 10 and up for 8 years. In that time, he has taught everything from grade-school math all the way up to 3rd year university physics, chemistry, math, and statistics.
In addition to his 8 years of experience as a one-on-one tutor, Harry has 5 years of experience tutoring students online, and 2 years of experience teaching classes of 30 students.
Harry’s teaching style uses a student’s understanding of the concrete world around them as a springboard for learning math. He starts by giving his student a concrete problem to solve. Once they’ve solved it correctly, he changes the problem slightly and asks them to solve it again. He then challenges his student to find similarities between the two solutions and generalize any patterns they see. Then he and his student discuss how these abstract patterns relate back to concepts his student might be learning in class.
This technique has proven an essential arsenal in Harry’s tool kit for teaching math, especially to younger kids, and Harry hopes to continue to hone it as he exposes more and more students to it.
Ravi S.
Ravi completed his Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Material Science from University of Saskatchewan. While at University, he also worked as a laboratory assistant for first year students teaching Mathematics & Physics. He continued at UofS as a Research Assistant in Nuclear materials and published several research articles. He then worked as a Mechanical Engineer at a reputed agricultural equipment company in Saskatchewan. Ravi moved to Kelowna, BC to start his new role as a Mechanical Engineer at an Electrical Vehicle component manufacturing company. He has experience teaching Mathematics to Grade 11 students. He is very passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge to those willing to learn. He enjoys spending time outdoors with family and loves exploring trails and hiking.
DAVID A.
David taught Math and Science to grade 7 to 11 students for the last fourteen years at English Montreal School Board. He also taught grade 11 and 12 physics, advanced functions and calculus in private school settings. Now he is a teacher at Toronto District School Board. He has many years experience tutoring, both in group settings and one on one.
David is qualified to teach Math and Science at Intermediate and Senior Divisions. He is a graduate from Tbilisi State University with a degree in Science – Physics and a graduate from Ontario Institute for Studies in Education with a bachelor of Education. David has also taken additional qualification courses as part of his professional development as a teacher in Special Education. He differentiated instruction for students with special needs for many years.
David believes that any student can achieve academic success when provided with the proper materials and support that is catered towards their learning style. He quickly develops rapport with students. David is an enthusiastic and energetic teacher who makes learning engaging, fun and meaningful to all his students.
