EN: Alisha is an undergraduate student in Biochemistry at the University of Waterloo, entering her fourth year in the fall of 2026. Equipped with a rigorous academic foundations in advanced molecular and cell biology, organic and analytical chemistry, and physics, she bridges complex scientific theories into accessible, student centered learning experiences.

With over four years of teaching experience, Alisha specializes in breaking down intricate chemistry, biology and general science concepts into manageable, easy to understand frameworks. She loves combining visuals and verbal creativity to discover innovative teaching methods tailored to each individual’s learning style. Alisha focuses on cultivating critical thinking, effective time management and strong independent study habits that serve students beyond the classroom.

Alisha delivers lessons fluently in both English and French. She is deeply dedicated to creating an engaging, patient, and supportive learning environment for students of all backgrounds. Through this approach, she helps them overcome academic hurdles, build lifelong confidence, and reach their full potential in the sciences.

Anna D.

EN: Anna holds a Bachelor of Science Honors Biochemistry degree with a minor in English Literature from McGill University. She specializes in CEGEP/university level biology, chemistry and biochemistry tutoring, and is passionate about making fast-paced and challenging subjects approachable to students. Through her work, she aims to give students the tools and confidence they need to succeed both academically and as future young professionals. Currently, Anna is pursuing a Masters degree in Immunology at McGill.
Outside the classroom, Anna has been involved in the sport of synchronized swimming for over 15 years and has 3+ years of experience as a private swimming coach for children ages 2-15. She loves reading, nature and collects new hobbies by the hour.

FR: Anna est titulaire d’un baccalauréat spécialisé en biochimie de l’Université McGill, avec une mineure en littérature anglaise. Elle se spécialise dans le tutorat en biologie, chimie et biochimie aux niveaux collégial (cégep) et universitaire. Elle est passionnée par l’idée de rendre les matières exigeantes et enseignées à un rythme soutenu plus accessibles aux étudiants. À travers son travail, elle cherche à leur donner les outils et la confiance nécessaires pour réussir tant sur le plan académique que dans leur future vie professionnelle. Anna poursuit actuellement une maîtrise en immunologie à l’Université McGill.
En dehors de ses études, Anna pratique la natation synchronisée depuis plus de 15 ans et possède plus de trois ans d’expérience comme entraîneuse privée de natation auprès d’enfants âgés de 2 à 15 ans. Elle adore la lecture et la nature, et se découvre constamment de nouveaux passe-temps.

Sydney E.

EN: Sydney is a final-year pharmacy student with a passion for science and education. Through her daily interactions with patients, she has developed strong communication skills and enjoys making complex scientific concepts easy to understand. She is committed to helping students build confidence in science while fostering effective study habits and a lifelong love of learning. Outside of her studies, Sydney enjoys running, swimming, and painting.

Grâce à ses interactions quotidiennes avec les patients, elle a développé de solides compétences en communication et aime rendre les concepts scientifiques complexes faciles à comprendre. Elle est dédiée à aider les élèves à avoir de la confiance en eux même en science tout en développant de bonnes habitudes d’étude. En dehors de ses études, Sydney aime la course à pied, la natation et la peinture.

Chris R.

Chris R. is research scientist in the Biochemistry Department at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studies gene regulation and teaches biochemistry.

As a teacher/tutor, Chris enjoys creating a dynamic learning environment and mentoring students through examples of chemistry and biochemistry in the real world.

Chris’s interest in science started in high school biology, where he became fascinated with the molecules that make up life and how they all work together (to the point of asking for a microscope for Christmas).

He went on to pursue this interest at Boston College where he earned a B.S. in Biochemistry. While in Boston, Chris did cancer research at Harvard Medical School and had his work published.

After graduating, Chris pursued his passion for teaching at Cristo Rey College Prep High School in Fort Worth, Texas — where he taught Chemistry and AP Chemistry. Concurrently, Chris received his M.Ed. from the University of Notre Dame in Secondary Science Education.

While teaching, Chris decided to take his passion for science to the next level by pursuing a Ph.D. in Biochemistry.

Outside of work and school, Chris likes to play golf, ski, fish, play guitar, and make the most of the outdoor recreation available in Boulder!

Beverlyn J.

Beverlyne J. is a mathematics and chemistry educator from Kenya.

As a child, Beverlyne had a strong interest in problem-solving and science, which led her to study higher math and chemistry and pursue a career in teaching and research.

She received her B.Ed. in Mathematics and Chemistry and her MS in Applied Mathematics from the University of Nairobi, in Kenya. She did her postgraduate studies at Uppsala University in Sweden.

She has taught math and chemistry at several different levels: lecturing at the University of Nairobi, serving as the head of the Mathematics Department at the Jaffery Academy (Nairobi), and working as a lecturer/tutor for private clients.

Outside the classroom, she enjoys playing badminton, conducting research in mathematical modeling, and mentoring young scholars in STEM.

Her goal is to make mathematics meaningful and accessible, and help students build the confidence and critical-thinking skills that apply outside the classroom.

Harish R.

EN: Harish holds a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from McGill University. He has a passion for teaching and takes the utmost pride in helping to bring out the best in his peers. Harish is also a great communicator, adaptable, and very passionate about the material he teaches.

Harish has a thorough academic background to support students at the high school, CEGEP, and undergraduate level in a variety of subject areas.

Ashley A.

Ashley Aemisegger is a full time IB Physics Teacher in NY. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland and a Master’s degree in secondary education from Grand Canyon University (Arizona) with a focus in STEM.

Ashley especially loves helping students understand difficult subjects. 

In addition to classroom teaching, Ashley has extensive experience tutoring high-school students in physics, calculus, and algebra, and prides herself on adjusting her instruction to meet each student’s needs. 

Growing up in the military gave Ashley a unique appreciation for different cultures and experiences. 

In her free time, Ashley loves reading fantasy books with her cat curled up on her lap.

Shivani J.

Shivani Jain is passionate about helping students excel in math and science. She has 13 years of experience working with middle-school, high-school, and college students.

Shivani has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in math, physics, and chemistry — as well as a master’s degree in International Business.

She is an ideal math tutor for students in algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, calculus (1, 2, AP, AB, and BC), physics, and chemistry. In addition, Shivani thrives on helping middle- and high-school students prepare for Mathcounts and AMC 8/10 competitions.

The belief that everyone has the potential to excel in math and science is what drives Shivani’s dedication to helping her students reach their full potential.

In her spare time, Shivani likes to go out on walks, hikes, enjoy nature, dance, and cook.
