Aliya R.

Aliya graduated from McGill University in May 2024, and acquired her Bachelor of Arts with a major concentration in political science and a minor in economics. While not currently enrolled in school, she is taking online business courses and plans to return to pursue an MBA.

She attended high school and Pre-University at Lower Canada College (LCC), completed and obtained her IB diploma, certificate of bilingualism and graduated with honours.

Her previous experience in tutoring includes peer tutoring through LCC for junior school students to prepare them for weekly evaluations in English, French, Science and Math. ANDREW L.

Andrew is an immigrant from China who has immersed himself in Canadian society and culture. In Canada, Andrew lived in Ottawa where he pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and a minor in Mathematics. He has been working as a tutor for about 2 years now. He has tutored for over 200 hours ranging from primary to undergraduate level, main subjects including Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Through his tutoring experiences, he has developed a deep passion for working with young children and decided to pursue teaching as a career. Now, he is pursuing a Master of Teaching in the Intermediate/Senior levels degree from OISE (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education) at the University of Toronto.

Kaitlyn attended high school level at the Study School, college level at Dawson in Pure & Applied Science (also took the Health Science courses, anatomy, organic Chemistry, etc. ), and university level at Concordia in Civil Engineering. While she has an affinity towards math, science, and physics, most subjects were enjoyed at some point! Rachel M.

Rachel graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Honors and a minor in Narrative Studies. She is continuing her academic pursuits at the McGill Faculty of Law’s J.D./B.C.L. program, where she is the director of L.E.X, the Faculty’s student-led educational outreach program for youth across Montreal.

Rachel tutors a variety of subjects but is particularly comfortable with the humanities, English, psychology, essay-writing, and college applications.

Rachel published her first research paper, “Addiction science and conceptions of freewill”, in the scientific journal Addictive Behaviors. She was the opinion editor and columnist for USC’s only student-run publication, the Daily Trojan, and is a four-time Canadian national public speaking champion. Rachel’s extensive writing experience make her qualified to assist students with writing challenges of all forms (research papers, lab reports, college application essays, etc.).

Further, Rachel’s public speaking accolades render her uniquely equipped to communicate difficult material and her extraverted personality allows her to build rapport quickly with students.

Fernando L.

Fernando has a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Calgary. He has been tutoring since 2010, specializing in grade 9 to first-year university math, physics, and chemistry. Fernando’s approach to teaching is to make a personal connection with students and to teach topics with passion while relating the concepts, skills, and material learned in these subjects to real world applications and usage. His favourite subject to tutor is Calculus and he has experience teaching all types of students.
