Mahraeel T.

Mahraeel is an experienced tutor currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science from York University. She brings notable experience in tutoring high school students in various STEM subjects. Outside of her professional life, Mahraeel enjoys reading mystery novels and spending quality time with her family.

MICHELLE W.

Michelle is an Ontario-Certified Teacher (transitional certificate) with a Master of Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Prior to her transition into education, she graduated from Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toronto and worked in the manufacturing sector, where she is still active part-time.
Michelle has experience teaching language, mathematics, and science at the Junior / Intermediate level, and has a strong background in the senior math and science courses. She has worked in diverse classrooms, supporting students with a wide range of learning needs. She is passionate about STEM education and hopes to inspire and help her students build confidence and academic success.
Michelle has also volunteered for Camp Engies, a weekend camp for girls grade 4-8, where students explore various hands-on engineering related activities and design challenges. In her spare time, Michelle loves to knit, practice yoga and mindfulness, and read.

Davina R.

This is Davina, an Exercise Physiologist with a passion not only for helping people move better, but also for teaching and mentoring. She discovered this passion while serving as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Connecticut during her Master’s program. In that role, she supported the course instructor through grading, facilitating labs, holding office hours, and fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Through this experience, she quickly realized that supporting students’ learning was one of her true callings.

Her academic journey began at Hampton University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2021. After taking a gap year to gain hands-on experience in the field, she returned to pursue her Master’s in Exercise Science at the University of Connecticut, graduating in 2024.

Her educational background has provided her with a strong foundation in the sciences and mathematics, making her confident in tutoring students in these subjects. Her approach to tutoring is centered on meeting students where they are and helping them discover the most effective ways to understand and retain information.

Throughout her education, she remained committed to serving her community. As an undergraduate, she was actively involved in an organization called G.I.R.L., where she served as the Community Service Chair, working with students from elementary through high school to promote confidence, identity development, and positivity. During her graduate studies, she volunteered with her church’s youth ministry and continues to mentor and support students in their personal and spiritual growth. In her spare time, she enjoys rollerskating, baking, and spending time with her loved ones.

Ti’Air C-R.

Ti’Air, PhD is a neural engineering researcher and STEM educator who just recently became the first Black Biomedical Engineering PhD recipient from MSU. She received her bachelors in Biomedical Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2011, also becoming the first black undergraduate student to receive a bachelors in science in BME from OSU, and proceeded to earn a master’s from the University of Cincinnati in 2013. Beginning her PhD at Purdue in 2014, she transferred to Michigan State in January 2019. Her research focus is integrating tissue engineering with implantable electrodes to tune immune response in the brain, in the REIL lab under the direction of Dr. Erin Purcell. She is a co-founder for Black In Neuro, serves as the Academia Chair for the Health Innovations special interest group of the National Society of Black Engineers, is a local organizer for Com Sci Con MI, and is in the speaker’s bureau for the Rape And Incest National Network. She has also served in the community under her platforms of sexual assault awareness and exposing underrepresented students to STEM as Miss Indiana United States 2015 and has received awards for her Social Justice in 2016 and Humanitarianism in 2018. She was named a fellow in the Society for Neuroscience from 2016 – 2018 and is also a NIH F99/K00 fellowship awardee. She completed her postdoc at Case Western Reserve University and her second at Yale University. She has vast experience with neurodegeneration, brain computer interfaces research and is interested in the ethical implications of neurotechnology.

OMANYALEE W.

Omanyalee is a dedicated tutor with experience helping students excel in literacy and numeracy. With a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health, she also has expertise in the sciences, specifically biology, chemistry, and physics. Omanyalee has provided training and health education to public populations, utilizing structured learning plans to boost confidence and build capacity. She is known for being patient, open-minded, and jovial; qualities that make learning enjoyable. In her free time, Omanyalee loves spending time with friends and family, watching movies, and exploring new experiences.

Edwin D.

My name is Edwin, and I’m excited to support you in mastering Math and Science. Eduardo R.

Eduardo graduated from Columbia University as a premedical student with a major in Biology and a minor in Classics (Latin). Eduardo has taught as an elementary school teacher for the past 5 years in NYC charter schools, equipped with a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.). He specializes in tutoring math classes—from elementary level math to Algebra to AP Calculus—and science classes such as biology, chemistry, and physics. He has also worked with students on standardized test preparation such as the DSAT, ACT, SHSAT, ISEE, and AP Exams. Eduardo has written detailed answers and explanations for over 50 DSAT and ACT tests. He has extensive experience tutoring and teaching, whether it is done one-on-one in person, online remotely, or with small classrooms of students.
During his free time, Eduardo loves to run, bike, and play tennis. He has worked as a tennis coach for elementary and high school students. Shay P.

Shay (she/her) is a Master’s student in the Department of Geography and Environment at Western University, specializing in human geography with a focus on energy policy and renewable energy adoption. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with minors in Chemistry and Environmental Studies, at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2023. Alongside her studies, Shay works as a Teaching Assistant, where she leads tutorials, grades assignments, and supports students with course material and exam preparation. Additionally, she was a Resident Advisor during her undergraduate studies and later as a Community Advisor at Georgian College.
Struggling herself in her first year of undergrad with working in an academic environment that’s a step-up from high school, Shay understands that academic progress is not linear, and that it looks different for everybody. Combined with her experience of working with diverse sets of students, Shay hopes to create a focused, but welcoming and stress-free learning environment that caters to different communication styles and learning needs.
In her free time, Shay enjoys going to the gym, taking walks with her dogs (Gucci and Kiro), and spending time in the greenhouse, bringing her love of science and the environment into her teaching style.

Olivia L.

Olivia is a medical student at Queen’s University School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo, majoring in Biomedical Sciences, before earning her Master of Science at the University of Toronto.

Olivia brings extensive teaching experience across multiple levels, including elementary, high school, and undergraduate education. Olivia has worked as a private tutor and as a graduate teaching assistant, supporting diverse learners in achieving their academic goals.

Olivia is committed to fostering inclusive and respectful learning environments where students feel safe and supported.
