Jennifer W.
Jennifer W. brings three decades of experience as a civics cheerleader and a history hype woman. She is committed to building students’ critical reading and writing skills by exciting their interest in history and government. She has taught at the high school and college level, including honors, dual enrollment, and Advanced Placement classes. She also loves encouraging students to express their own stories in the college essay process, and to discover their own strategies for academic organization.
Jennifer holds an undergraduate degree in American Civilization from Brown University, and advanced degrees in education and American history from New Jersey City University and Pace University. In her spare time, she is usually reading, visiting museums, or (poorly) singing show tunes.
Elias A.
Elias Allen graduated from the University of Oxford in 2017 with a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He worked as an SAT prep teacher and tutor for AP US History, AP World History, and AP Literature in DC and Maryland from 2018 to 2019. Elias served as a Peace Corps TEFL Volunteer in Kosovo from 2019-2020 and from 2022-2023, teaching English to K-12 students. In 2020 and 2021 he worked as a tutor in Oregon for elementary and middle school students, tutoring English, reading comprehension, writing, math, and coding. In 2021 Elias taught English and critical thinking skills to students in Kosovo virtually in the Peace Corps Virtual Service Pilot Program. He graduated from Columbia University with an MA in 2025. In his free time Elias enjoys playing basketball, ping pong, and tennis.
Muskaan T.
Hi, I’m Muskaan, a graduate student in Bioengineering at Rice University with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in bioinformatics, biology, chemistry, and mathematics. With over five years of tutoring experience, I’ve had the opportunity to guide high school, undergraduate, and graduate students through subjects such as organic chemistry, biology, genetics, calculus, biostatistics etc. My teaching philosophy centers on turning complex topics into clear, engaging lessons that connect theory to real-world applications. Beyond tutoring, my professional experience spans both academic research and clinical practice from analyzing genetic risk factors for cardiovascular disease as a Graduate Researcher at UTHealth Houston, to assisting with pain management and pediatric clinics. Mckenna E.
Mckenna E. is currently a second-year graduate student at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Science at Louisiana State University in 2025. Mckenna is a big-time animal lover with three small critters of her own. She loves to travel the world—so much so that she lived on a boat in the Adriatic Sea! Mckenna is a natural teacher, adopting the role when her little brother was born; saving her parents from stressful nights of trying to understand the “new ways” of teaching. She has continued her passion for tutoring throughout her life, helping high school and undergraduate students with the complexities of Science, Chemistry, and English.
Bruce M.
Bruce is an experienced educator with over 30 years of teaching and tutoring across academic subjects including math, science, writing, history, and geography. His professional background includes more than two decades at Brookhaven National Lab, as well as technical and management roles at Grumman Aerospace, Robotic Vision Systems, Megadata, and American Science, working in scientific research, engineering, software development, management, and consulting. He’s also developed training programs and educational curricula for both academic and professional settings.
Beyond teaching and tech, he is a published writer with thousands of pages in print, as well as a journal editor. Students appreciate his ability to explain complex concepts clearly, build confidence, and adapt to their unique learning style.
Richard S.
Rich is a retired lawyer. In addition to a law degree, he has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in rhetoric. As a tutor, teaching assistant and adjunct faculty, he has taught and tutored students ranging from elementary school to graduate school. He specializes in English literature and composition, business, and social studies.
LORI V.
As an essay coach who has trained with and earned certification from The College Essay Experience, Lori is skilled at helping students craft powerful, authentic essays. Lori offers guidance and support through every stage of the essay-writing process, resulting in essays that convey students’ unique personal characteristics.
Lori’s years of professional writing experience guides her approach to college essay coaching. She served as a federal judicial law clerk in the District of Connecticut, practiced litigation for seven years at the international law firm of Davis Polk, and worked for five years as an executive recruiter placing attorneys at law firms across the country.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wesleyan University, Lori earned her Juris Doctor degree, with distinction, from Emory University School of Law. While a law student, Lori earned several academic awards, was elected to the Order of the Coif, and was chosen to serve on the Emory Law Journal as Book Review Editor.
Lori lives in Larchmont, New York with her husband and her three sons.

A Collier County native, Ryan holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Sociology from the University of Florida, along with minors in Disabilities in Society and Education Studies. His passion for education was sparked by the inspiring teachers in his own life, and he’s now dedicated to creating that same positive impact for his students. Ryan brings a patient, empathetic, and student-centered approach to every session. He believes in building mutual respect and making learning engaging, so that each student feels confident, supported, and excited to learn. At Prep Academy Tutors, Ryan is further developing his teaching skills with plans to transition into a full-time teaching role. In his free time, he enjoys reading, going to the beach, playing video games, and staying active through sports.
