Meet (Krishna) B.
Krishna has a strong command on teaching students using the socratic method and has received overwhelmingly positive results in his career. Krishna has been the head of the Science and Math department at a private school. Krishna aims to provide an in-depth education for students that stimulate understanding of the material on a foundational level. Krishna combines his teaching with various models and art-based learning experiences which stimulates a deeper understanding.
He is a creative and innovative thinker with experience teaching students from different ethnic and educational backgrounds. He has the ability to accommodate children with different learning styles
Krishna’s educational background includes a Honours Bachelor of Science where he specialized in Human Biology.
Rupak H.
Rupak Haque is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He grew up in USA, moving to Windsor to complete a Degree in Education from the University of Windsor. Prior to which, he completed a BSc in Applied Physics from Pennsylvania and an MBA from Alabama . Rupak developed a deep love of travel and took the opportunity to explore the world following the completion of his degree having visited most of the countries in Europe, Middle East, South Asia and North America. It was during his stay in South Asia that Rupak discovered his passion for teaching and working with children. Having decided to pursue teaching as a career Rupak moved to Canada. It is through teaching that Rupak has been able to foster his love of Physics and Math. In his spare time Rupak works one-on-one tutoring with high school students of Math and Physics. Rupak understands the importance of friendship and mentorship with his students in order to help them grow in their learning. Having grown in his career over the years, Rupak has amassed a whole plethora of techniques and strategies in teaching Math and Physics that his students find invaluable.
DUSICA T.
Dusica is an Ontario Teacher certified at Primary, Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels. She graduated with a Bachelor in Education from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to this she attended Wilfrid Laurier University where she obtained a diploma in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Geography.
Dusica has had a dream of being a teacher since she was 3 years old. She has been working with children for over 10 years now and enjoys her profession more and more each day. She believes that every student can learn if they have the right amount of support they need. Dusica’s goal is to make students fall in love with learning the way she did. Her outgoing personality helps with establishing strong connections and trust between her and her students
In her free time Dusica enjoys hanging out with friends, hiking, traveling, taking photographs, cooking, baking and the occasional movie night. Dusica loves learning new languages. She fluently speaks English, Macedonian and Serbian. She is also working on learning some Spanish, French and Italian.
SHUBHAYAN K.
Shubhayan earned his Master’s Degree in Applications of Mathematics at the Chennai Mathematical Institute in 2013 and is currently pursuing independent studies in Machine Learning and Data Science.
With over 6 years of experience in Mathematics teaching and tutoring at various levels ranging from middle school to professional education, he incorporates his love for the subject with a passion for sharing and exchanging knowledge to create a unique learning experience for each of his students.
His study resources extend beyond books and lectures, and out into the real world and online math learning platforms. He makes efficient use of tools like Desmos and Geogebra, and refers to captivating sources like Numberphile and 3Blue1Brown on YouTube for inspiration.
He is a former candidate delegate for the World Cube Association, and his special skills and interests include Cooking, Karaoke, Board Games and being able to solve a Rubik’s Cube in under twenty seconds, one handed.
AMIR M.
Amir is a science teacher and his goal is to become a “science entertainer” in the future. With a strong background in all sciences, he shares his passion for science with his students. He graduated from McMaster University’s award-winning program, Integrated Science, with a concentration in biology and a minor in mathematics. Amir has completed his thesis in cellular neuroscience, studying the development of the auditory circuits in the brain. In his spare time during undergraduate, he would pop into a microbiology lab to study the defence mechanisms of plants against bacteria. He has a very diverse academic background as he has completed research projects in wildly different fields; from particle physics and planetary exploration to forensic studies and wine science. Academics and teaching aside, Amir analyzes data for a company that makes farms, buildings, and factories “smart”. He also is a visual merchandiser for Zara, yes, he also knows about fashion. In terms of hobbies, he enjoys spending time with friends and going on spontaneous adventures. He cooks for meditation and thinks about the meaning of life and the vastness of the universe before falling asleep at night. Amir’s favourite pastime is watching, writing, and if it weren’t for COVID, performing comedy. He thinks humour is the key to a rich life and this philosophy bleeds into his teaching style. Speaking of his teaching style, Amir cares about the fundamentals in every topic. He will try to find the gaps and holes in students’ background knowledge before teaching new concepts. He will teach students science using pop culture references, analogies, and tangible examples instead of merely conveying facts and formulae. He is the guy who puts “cool” in “school” and takes out the redundant “h” for “humdrum”.
STEPHEN P.
Stephen has tutored extensively in all areas of advanced mathematics, including calculus/vectors, and has successfully guided students through AP Calculus and the IB math program. He especially enjoys working on problem-solving strategies. Stephen also has several years of experience with all aspects of SSAT, SAT, ACT, and MCAT preparation, including guiding students through the often arduous university application process.
He also enjoys working with students at all levels across many subjects. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters Degree in Comparative Literature, specializing in English and French,. Stephen’s primary research focus was the nineteenth-century novel. He has also received his MBA from the University of Warwick in the UK, .
Finally, Stephen has a real passion for literature, history, and philosophy, spending his free time delving into contemporary works. Stephen has recently taken a liking to nineteenth and twentieth-century history, and believes that as citizens we benefit when we have a fuller understanding of the past.
MAJID B.
Majid has a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and over 12 years of teaching experience in an academic settings. He started his teaching journey as a lecturer in a post-secondary institution in his home country, Iran. He has tutored high school to university levels since 2017. He is very passionate about learning and enjoys helping students in Math, Physics, and Engineering courses reach their academic goals.
He considers himself to be a lifelong learner and has acquired a love for website design as a hobby as well! It is his firm belief that learning is a two-way journey, and as much as he teaches his students, he learns from them in return.
Majid volunteers his time at a local public library and as a soccer coach. He does both in-person and online tutoring and has extensive experience using online platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and other platforms.
Christine L.
Christine J. Loh, PMP, ISTQB certified and is a Manager of Data Science at a tech start-up. A former national mathematics contest competitor from Toronto, Ontario, she earned her bachelors from the University of Toronto. Her students come from a diverse background and needs (AP/IB/remedial/SAT/SSAT/PSAT/GMAT/competitions ie. Caribou, Canadian Math League, Waterloo contests, Kangaroo, Beaver etc) She collaborates with parents, tutoring companies, consultants, and organizations to promote mathematics excellence and equity for young people. Her students have gained interviews to the University of Toronto Schools, scored in the top 2-15% of admission tests, top 7-30% of worldwide/national math contests. top 7% in Ontario, and top 10% in Peel District School Board. Christine has been recognized as the Tutor of the Month, for her efforts. She has also published an article in “Authority Magazine” entitled “5 Things You Need To Know To Be A Highly Effective Educator”. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, chess, travelling, and playing the violin.
