Donald B.

Donald B., Jr. is an academic counselor, Director of Speech & Debate and Mock Trial for a high school in New Orleans, La., and the Executive Director of his own nonprofit organization, Louisiana Urban Debate League. Mr. Broussard also is a public speaker and has spoken at several national conferences over the years. Mr. Broussard started teaching in 2006 after the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. He started teaching Civics and Free Enterprise and Speech & Debate. Mr. Broussard has taught multiple subject areas (Social Studies, English, Physical Science, Algebra, Law Studies, Psychology, Debate, and ACT Prep) in multiple states (Louisiana, Nevada, Mississippi, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Alabama, and Massachusetts).
Additionally, Mr. Broussard taught Advanced Placement courses in the areas of Social Studies, English, Psychology, Research & Seminar, along with college courses at Strayer University. Mr. Broussard is passionate about education and has a desire to benefit students no matter their background and guide them to reach their ultimate potential. Karin R. is a certified teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in English from Mount Saint Mary’s University. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Maryland. Karin is a passionate and dedicated educator who has taught grades six through twelve. Her hobbies include reading (no surprise there!), watching anime with her youngest son, and cheering on her favorite NFL team—Ravens fan all the way! She loves what she does and does what she loves. Samantha is a bilingual educator with more than 20 years of experience helping students of all ages discover their strengths and enjoy learning. She has taught everything from core subjects in Elementary to Social Studies and English in Middle School to English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults and is known for turning challenges into confidence-building wins through social-emotional learning (SEL). With a Master’s in Positive Education and certifications in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), English as a Second Language (ESL), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Family Coaching, Samantha combines expertise with a warm, encouraging approach that brings out the best in every learner. Samantha combines strong academic expertise with a supportive, student-focused approach. She partners with families to ensure students not only improve their grades but also grow in confidence, motivation, and prevailing learning skills. A lifelong student herself, she’s always taking new courses to keep life (and learning) exciting. When she’s not teaching, you’ll probably find her traveling with her family to eco-destinations where she can connect with nature, reading a thrilling novel, or singing her heart out—sometimes all at once!

David is a certified educator with a strong academic foundation in history, political science, economics, and Spanish. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History, with a minor in Spanish, from Susquehanna University. His additional studies include comparative politics at Rutgers University and coursework in macroeconomics, political science, and geography at Union County College. This broad academic background enables him to support students in U.S. History, World History, Government, Civics, Economics, Geography, and related subjects.

After relocating to Florida, David worked in both public and charter schools and earned his professional certification through the Teacher Immersion Program at Florida Gulf Coast University. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated adaptability and leadership, serving as both a guest and long-term teacher in elementary, middle and high school settings across multiple subject areas.

David tutors K–12 students in reading, writing, study skills, foundational math, and core academic subjects. He is committed to building confident, thoughtful learners who think critically and engage meaningfully with the world around them.

He lives in Naples with his fiancée and two children, and enjoys science fiction, classic literature, anime, and playing guitar.

Shahinaah S.

Shahinaah is a passionate and dedicated teacher candidate at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto, committed to creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.

She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Sociology and a double minor in Education and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Toronto Mississauga. Through this interdisciplinary background, she has developed a strong understanding of social systems, equity, and inclusive education.

Currently, Shahinaah is completing her Master of Teaching at OISE with a focus on the Primary/Junior division. This program is equipping her with both theoretical knowledge and practical classroom experience to support diverse learners, implement inclusive teaching strategies, and promote a student-centered approach to education.

With a strong belief in the power of education to inspire, empower, and transform lives, Shahinaah strives to create an environment where curiosity is encouraged, differences are celebrated, and every child feels valued. Differentiated instruction lies at the heart of her practice. She recognizes that every student learns differently and works to ensure that all learners feel safe, heard, and supported. Whether through flexible groupings, varied materials, or personalized goals, she adapts her teaching to meet the diverse needs of her students.

Barbara’s educational journey began with a passion for teaching Special Education, a field she dedicated herself to in the early years of her teaching career. After earning her master’s degree in Foreign Language, she showed her adaptability and versatility by transitioning to Spanish, a language she had spoken and grown to love. This change enabled her to inspire many students by teaching Spanish at all levels in both public and private schools. She also taught homeschool students to help them meet their high school language requirements.

Barbara actively contributes her free time by volunteering for various organizations, fostering a sense of community, while also prioritizing quality time with her family and friends.

I am a special education teacher with specializations in English, Reading, and Developmental Education. I have been tutoring and teaching for 15 years. I believe in self regulation being the key to academic success, as well as identifying and understanding our mistakes in order to grow. I have taught Kindergarten, high school English, and all levels of developmental education.
