Beth recently retired after 33 years in education. She began her career at the university level teaching earth and environmental science. She then transitioned to elementary students focusing on special needs students. She spent the last 5 years as a reading interventionist.

Beth is a patient and easy-going educator who believes in building a relationship with her students. She is excited to help students achieve their academic goals and take pride in their success.

In her free time, Beth likes to garden, spend time at the beach and go on walks with her family and newly adopted rescue dog.

Sana T.

Sana grew up in Illinois and received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in biological sciences and a double minor in mathematics and psychology. Her zeal for learning is what drove her to study mathematics and psychology alongside biology. She has a fervor to learn about science and math, stay up to date with advancements in the fields, and teach that knowledge to others.

She started off her journey as a tutor while she was just in middle school! She was a private academic tutor for 15+ years and tutored on a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and reading at the elementary, middle, high school, and undergraduate levels. She started off her teaching experience as a mathematics instructor for K-12 math subjects and moved on to the role of a test prep instructor specializing in helping adolescents prepare for all subjects covered by the SAT and ACT. She gained most of her specialized teaching skills while being a STEM teacher and mentor at Fusion Academy, a school that specializes in giving personalized instruction to students that caters to their individual learning styles and patterns. While here, she was really able to hone in on identifying students’ individual needs and preferences and allow for them to reach their maximum learning potential. Sana values the student-teacher relationship and believes that true learning can only happen in an environment of acceptance, trust, and comfort. She puts importance on developing rhetoric, engaging with her students, and allowing them to feel at ease and ask any questions that facilitate and spark their learning. Teaching and connecting with students is truly a passion for Sana!

In her free time, Sana loves spending time playing with her toddler and nieces and nephews, engaging them in wonderful discoveries of the magnificent world around them! She admires nature and enjoys taking walks outdoors and sightseeing. She also has a passion for the arts, whether that’s in the form of movies, books, painting, drawing, and more!

Trupti P.

Trupti’s background is unique, and it reflects in her teaching approach. She completed the math program at Kumon Learning Center by the 8th grade, after which she immediately began working as an Assistant Grader. Since then, Trupti has been teaching a diverse range of students, from elementary level to higher education. Her teaching philosophy is understanding students and creating a safe space to meet each other halfway. She finds joy in motivating students and being a stepping stone in their academic journey.

Trupti holds an M.S. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Illinois Chicago and in Biology from the University of West Florida. She received her B.S. in Environmental Science with a minor in Spanish at Benedictine University. She has studied abroad in Spain and the Bahamas.

Currently, Trupti is a new adjunct instructor teaching Introduction to Biology at Harold Washington College. Outside the classroom, Trupti is an artist at heart. She loves dancing, yoga, music, and venturing to museums and plays. In her free time, she volunteers at the Blind Services Association, reading to the visually impaired.

In all, Trupti is a dedicated, empathetic, and passionate educator. She applauds students who show up, even when it seems impossible. Everyone is welcome in this classroom!

Sally D.

Sally began teaching and tutoring in 1983. In addition to supporting clients and their families, she homeschooled her own daughters resulting in an Honors College degree from Whittier College and a cum laude degree from Viterbi at USC.

Maggie B.

Maggie is an accomplished educator and school leader with more than 19 years of experience helping students and teachers achieve academic success. Her career has included roles as a high school English and Drama teacher, instructional coach, English Department Coordinator, Academic Dean, Assistant Principal, and Principal. This extensive experience gives Maggie a unique understanding of not only how students learn, but also how to identify academic challenges, develop effective strategies, and help students become more confident and independent learners.

Maggie earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Florida and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She holds Texas credentials in English Language Arts and Reading for grades 8–12 as well as school leadership and instructional evaluation.

Maggie spent many years teaching high school English, including Pre-AP, AP, and College Board curriculum, and has extensive experience preparing students for challenging coursework and standardized assessments. She has developed STAAR preparation strategies for high school English, supported AP students, led English curriculum development, and coached other teachers in research-based instructional practices. Later in her career, as an Academic Dean, she also served as a campus testing coordinator overseeing EOC, SAT, and AP assessments.

Maggie specializes in English, reading and writing, college essay development, and standardized test preparation, including the English and verbal components of the SAT and ACT, as well as PSAT and Regents preparation. Her background in English, literature, drama, and curriculum development makes her particularly effective at helping students strengthen reading comprehension, analytical thinking, essay organization, grammar, and written communication.

Her expertise also extends beyond English and writing. Maggie supports students in Biology, Earth Science, Environmental Science, and World History, making her a versatile option for students who need assistance across multiple academic areas.

One of Maggie’s greatest strengths is her ability to recognize what is preventing an individual student from succeeding and adjust instruction accordingly. Having spent years coaching both students and teachers, she knows there is rarely a single approach that works for everyone. She breaks difficult material into manageable steps, provides clear and constructive feedback, and helps students develop strategies they can eventually use independently.

Families appreciate Maggie’s combination of warmth, professionalism, high expectations, and extensive educational experience. Whether she is helping a student strengthen an essay, prepare for the SAT or ACT, tackle an advanced English course, or regain confidence after struggling academically, Maggie’s goal is to help students recognize their capabilities and develop the skills necessary for lasting success.

Having spent much of her own school years living in Europe, Maggie developed an early appreciation for travel, history, and different cultures. She later shared that passion with her students by leading educational travel experiences to destinations around the world. Outside of education, she continues to enjoy traveling, learning about other cultures, and spending time with her family.

Alyson B.

Alyson Breaux is a Certified Teacher, born and raised right here in Baton Rouge. A proud LSU Education Honors gradudate, Alyson spent years teaching in Zachary and East Baton Rouge classrooms, where she learned firsthand that no two kids learn the same way. She views one-on-one tutoring as the ideal setting for truly personalized learning, where building a genuine connection comes first. When students feel seen and supported, confidence grows, grades improve, and a lifelong love for learning takes root.

Alyson is rarely sitting still. Outside of tutoring, she’s usually chasing her toddler, riding bikes with her golden retriever, or discussing a good book with her husband. She also loves gardening, dancing, sewing, painting, and cooking. Alyson loves to incorporate both her own creative passions and, more importantly, each student’s unique interests into her lessons to make learning fun, personal, and genuinely engaging.

Jesus F.

Jesus graduated with his Bachelor’s in Geoscience from the University of California, San Diego and earned his teaching credential from San Diego State University. He has a strong passion for education, believing it is one of the best ways to further yourself in life. He has multiple years tutoring in subjects like Math and Science and teaching in a classroom. Jesus is patient when it comes to his student’s learning, understanding it takes time to learn something new. He enjoys establishing connections with students and parents to make sure his students are successful in their academic journey.

Parents describe Jesus as kind hearted, reliable and focus. Using tutoring time not only as a way to know his tutee but also as a way to keep them accountable for their learning. During his free time, Jesus enjoys being outdoors and learning how to cook new recipes. He is currently working on earning his Master’s in Teaching to further hone his skills as a teacher.

Kaleb B.

Kaleb is a passionate science educator with a strong background in biology, healthcare, and hands-on scientific research. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, where he developed a deep appreciation for both scientific discovery and helping others learn. Today, he combines his enthusiasm for STEM with a student-centered teaching approach that makes even challenging concepts approachable and engaging.

While attending UC San Diego, Kaleb gained valuable laboratory experience as an undergraduate research intern, working on genetics and molecular biology projects involving DNA extraction, PCR analysis, DNA electrophoresis, cloning, and mosquito genetics. He later worked in healthcare at Scripps Health, supporting clinical research and patient care by assisting with clinical trials and handling research specimens. These experiences allow him to bring real-world scientific applications into every tutoring session, helping students see how the concepts they learn in class connect to exciting careers in medicine, research, and biotechnology.

Kaleb is currently serving as a substitute teacher in Seguin ISD while preparing to begin his teaching internship, allowing him to work with students in a variety of classroom settings and continue developing his instructional skills. Throughout high school and college, he also coached theater and improvisation groups, experiences that strengthened his communication skills and taught him how to create engaging, interactive learning environments where students feel comfortable asking questions and thinking creatively.

Kaleb specializes in biology, life sciences, and mathematics, with a focus on helping students build genuine understanding rather than simply memorizing procedures. He believes every student learns differently, and he enjoys discovering what motivates each learner so lessons can be connected to their personal interests, whether that’s sports, music, technology, the arts, or everyday life. His goal is to make rigorous STEM subjects meaningful, relatable, and enjoyable.

Outside of tutoring, Kaleb enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures, and spending time outdoors. His travels throughout the United States and South America have broadened his perspective and reinforced his belief that learning extends far beyond the classroom. He brings that same curiosity, enthusiasm, and sense of adventure into every session, encouraging students to become confident, lifelong learners.

Camden C.

Camden is a certified elementary educator with nearly nine years of classroom teaching experience and over ten years of tutoring experience. She currently teaches 4th grade at Thales Academy in Apex, North Carolina, and is certified in Kindergarten through 6th grade Mathematics, Science, English Language Arts, and History.

Camden is passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve academic success through engaging, personalized instruction. She specializes in elementary and middle school math, reading, writing, and study skills. Known for her warm and encouraging teaching style, she creates a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves.

When she is not teaching or tutoring, Camden enjoys spending time with her family, reading and being outdoors. She believes every child can succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and opportunity to grow.

William M.

The first time I realized teaching was my destiny was when I was a junior at Billings Senior High School in Billings, Montana, and I was given the opportunity to direct a Saturday Night Live format talent show. I’ve been hooked ever since.

I have four higher education degrees: a Bachelor of Education from the University of Wyoming, a Master of Music (with distinction) from the New England Conservatory of Music, a second Master of Music (opera production) from the University of Washington, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Washington.

I am a big fan of teaching through open-ended questions (the Socratic Method) because it transforms learning from a one-way dissemination of information into an engaging series of questions that students use to discover the answers for themselves — which promotes the acquisition of knowledge.

When I am not teaching or tutoring, I enjoy the Colorado backcountry, especially stargazing and hiking. I also love getting lost in researching such diverse topics as marine biology, paleontology, organometallic chemistry, and science fiction.
