Sam has been tutoring math and economics since 2017. He has two master’s degrees in economics (CGPA 4.0), qualified as a teacher at the University of Oxford with a PGCE in math education, and taught at high schools in Europe for four years. In his spare time he plays jazz piano and listens to audiobooks.

Jimmy D.

An educator with over 14 years of teaching experience with a profound passion for empowering minds. Jimmy has taught with Ontario public school boards since 2011. He also has experience teaching overseas in South Korea and Taiwan.

Jimmy has a Master of Arts in International Economics and Finance from Toronto Metropolitan University, on top of his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from York University. He is also a certified teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers, and has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto.

In his free time, Jimmy is very active and spends his time playing soccer, baseball, and hockey (depending on the seasons).

He did his MA in Development and International Economics from University of London, his MBA from Northwestern University, Chicago and Professional Financial Planning (PFP) from Canadian Securities Institute. He is also author of an International Best-Selling book on business called ‘Managing the Unthinkable’.

LAXSHAA N.

Dr. Laxshaa Nadpurajah is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in education, data analysis, digital content management, fitness, and nutrition. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration; a Master of Education, specializing in Assessment & Evaluation; and a Master of Management Analytics, both from Queen’s University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology and Criminal Justice & Public Policy from the University of Guelph.

MICHELLE N.

Michelle is an Ontario-certified Intermediate/Senior (Math and Accounting) and IB MYP (Math) teacher with additional qualifications in Family Studies, Junior, Co-op and Guidance, English as a Second Language, and Special Education. She graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts and earned her Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University. Over the last decade, Michelle taught at international schools in Asia, including six years as an Accounting and Math teacher to non-native English speakers in Tianjin, China, and Selangor, Malaysia. She recently returned home to Toronto after teaching MYP Math at a leading international IB school in Beijing, China, for three years.

Michelle has extensive experience working with students who need additional academic support or skill development, as well as those looking to extend their learning beyond classroom content. Her strengths include identifying areas where students struggle or lack key skills, and helping them develop these skills and concepts through personalized instruction. Known for her friendly, patient, and approachable demeanor, Michelle is currently teaching at the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, watching documentaries, and spending time with friends.

JUSTIN R.

Justin Riley is an OCT-certified teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching and tutoring elementary and high school students. Currently he is working in the York Region District School Board (YRDSB). He holds an undergraduate degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Science in Education from Medaille College. Justin is highly qualified in Social Sciences, Accounting, Economics, Business, and English courses. He believes in integrating humor and culturally relevant pedagogy to connect with students, making content relatable and enjoyable for all learners. Caroline B.

My name is Caroline B. and I am entering my third year in Rotman Commerce at the University of Toronto where I specialize in Finance and Economics and have a minor in Geoscience. Relevant courses I have taken include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Econometrics and Data Analysis, Microeconomic Theory, and my favorite, Macroeconomics. Apart from my academic studies at UofT, I am the Director of Operations and Investment Analyst at Rational Capital Investment Fund, a student-run fund that not only actively manages a portfolio for our investors but focuses on teaching UofT students the fundamentals of finance and investing. During my time with this club, I have taught classes on reading financial reports and interpreting economic events to first-year students. Apart from this, I also gained teaching experience in high school as I was an assistant coach in the CanSkate program where I taught those new to figure skating and hockey how to skate. These experiences have ultimately been rewarding and fulfilling to me as I continuously look to share my interests and skills in the subjects and sports I love. In my free time, I enjoy watching/playing tennis, baking, and spending time outside.

MEGAN L.

Megan grew up in Calgary and moved to Toronto to complete an Undergraduate Degree in Economics at the University of Toronto. Throughout her academic journey, Megan has consistently earned recognition as a Dean’s List Scholar and has been the recipient of multiple scholarships in acknowledgment of her outstanding achievements. With a passion for education and working with children, Megan aspires to pursue a career in teaching. Drawing upon over 3 years of diverse teaching experiences, ranging from one-on-one tutoring sessions with young learners to conducting group lessons with university students, Megan has supported the improvement of their reading, writing, vocabulary, and math skills. Megan takes the time to understand her students’ unique learning styles and needs to create a personalized teaching approach. She prioritizes building a solid foundation and equipping her students with effective learning strategies to empower them in their academic pursuits. Beyond the classroom, Megan can be found exploring the city with her camera in hand, reading at a cafe, and hosting dinner gatherings with her friends.
