Israel R.

Israel is OCT Certified Teacher with an Honours Bachelor of Science from McMaster University! He Majored in Mathematics and Statistics (Mathematics Concentration) with a Minor in Physics and Astronomy. He obtained a Bachelor’s of Education from Wilfrid Laurier University with Junior/Intermediate Qualifications. He obtained further Senior Qualifications with a concentration on Mathematics and Law at OISE as well as Special Education Qualifications from York!

He has a passion for mathematics for many years and hopes to help break down barriers to make math more accessible! While understanding that content is of utmost importance, he believes that culturally responsive teaching and a Universal Design of Learning is essential to the success of all students. A core tenet of his philosophy is:

“it is OK not to like Math (or any subject for that matter), as long as you leave knowing that you can work towards your own version of success!”

Allyssa N.

Allyssa is an Ontario Certified Teacher in the Primary/Junior division. She has an honours Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University. She is a dedicated and experienced professional who possesses a great understanding of tailored learning approaches.
With a commitment to creating a positive and collaborative learning environment, Allyssa believes in the power of personalized instruction. She adeptly adjusts her teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and paces, fostering an atmosphere where students feel comfortable expressing challenges and celebrating successes.
Prior to teaching Allyssa had a career in events management working with a large culturally diverse group. She specialized in training which is where her focus of individualized instruction stems from and led her to complete her teaching degree. She is currently teaching grade 5/6.
In her free time she has always had a passion for travel and continues to do so with her family and loves to explore new places with her children and husband.

 

Ana V.

Ana is a young professional & educator. She has a combined experience of 10+ years teaching all ages in varying subjects such as French, music, social sciences, and junior level math & sciences. She completed her French Immersion Certificate in 2016 & graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor in Public Affairs & Policy Management in 2021. Throughout her time at Carleton, she worked as an Economics Workshop Facilitator where she was constantly coming up with creative ways to present information to students- catering to all different types of learning styles. Ana is an incredibly skilled communicator & has a love for teaching that is evident in her work. She believes an individualized approach is the key to the success of her students. In her spare time she likes to read, sing in choir & spend time with friends & family!

 

 

 

Heather A.

Heather A. graduated from Cornell College Suma Cum Laude with dual BA majors in Economics and Art. She subsequently received her Texas Secondary Teaching Certification from Southwest Texas State University in Social Studies with an emphasis in Economics and World Geography. Heather has a TEYL Certificate -teaching English to young learner- and a TEFL Certificate-teaching English to foreign learners- and enjoys one-on-one teaching in person and online. Her passion for teaching and love of children took her to South Africa, where she voluntarily created and facilitated a learning program for previously disadvantaged children ages 3-18. She has over 6 years experience teaching Chinese children and adults English online. During the past 20 years she has held a variety of teaching positions from swimming lessons and aerobics to high school economics and business school courses; in every position she has developed an ever-deepening passion to teach children. She takes delight in seeing each child reach their full potential and help them explore their interests. Her classes are personal, interactive, engaging and most of all- supportive and caring. She fervently believes that learning can be a positive and fun experience and her teaching effectiveness can be seen in her students’ academic achievements. She enjoys outdoor activities and participating in sports as well as doing all types of arts and crafts projects.

Thomas M

Thomas attended University of Toronto (Woodsworth College) where he majored in economics and double minored in mathematics and philosophy. Thomas then graduated from Western University with a master’s degree in financial economics. Through the past five years, Thomas has tutored students from various academic backgrounds in mathematics and economics. Thomas enjoys seeing his students achieve her goals and believes that proper planning is the key to success.

 

 

 

 

 

Ralph K.

Ralph graduated with high distinctions from the Rotman school of management at the University (BCom ’21 with a specialization in finance and economics, major in economics, and minor in environmental economics). He has been teaching as a TA and tutor since his third year, helping students all over North America succeed. After graduating, Ralph decided to follow his dreams of becoming a professional football (soccer) player and has been playing professionally in Europe for the last three years. He loves keeping his brain active, teaching, and helping others. As such, he continues to be available as a devoted tutor to help you excel in school.

Kyle is a multilingual professional with a wealth of experience in leadership, networking, and tutoring. He was born in East Asia, speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin fluently, and is actively learning Italian, Arabic, Spanish, French, and Korean. With six years of tutoring experience teaching students from primary, university, and ESL adult backgrounds, Kyle is passionate about teaching English, social sciences, history, and economics as a result of his academic background. His love for teaching is evident in the way he connects with his students and fosters a positive learning environment. Kyle’s leadership skills are also impressive, having founded and served as the chapter president of My Networking Club, a registered charity where he managed a team of over 20 executives to craft growth plans for six key events that connect university students to industry professionals for networking, mentorship, and internship opportunities. Under Kyle’s leadership, the club achieved membership growth of over 100 members and 300+ attendees from top companies in Canada. Kyle’s academic achievements are equally notable, with a GPA of 3.9/4.0 and a place on the Dean’s Honor Roll at York University. Genevieve in an Ontario Certified teacher. She is qualified to teach Math, ESL, Economics, Business, Law, Accounting, Social Science, Philosophy and Special Education. She has over 10 years’ experience tutoring students both online and offline. Genevieve enjoys helping students of all ages achieve their full potential, from elementary to post-secondary.

HARMANPREET B.

Harman is an Ontario Certified Senior Teacher that Specializes in Mathematics and Science and works with students from Junior kindergarten to high school at ROTMAN ARTS & SCIENCE SCHOOL, Vaughan . Harman graduated with her Masters in Mathematics, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Education

her approach to teaching is to focus on helping her students understand and master the material, rather than just memorize formulas or techniques. She believes that this is a key to long-term success in any subject.

To achieve this, Harman uses numerous teaching methods and resources in her lessons. This might include interactive investigation, problem- solving exercises, or visual aids such as diagram graphs or flow charts. She also encourages her students to ask questions and actively participate in the learning process, this helps them develop a deeper understanding of the subject and makes the learning process more enjoyable.

Knowing that there are different learning styles, Harman makes an effort to tailor her lessons to individual needs and learning styles. For Example, if a student is more visual, she might use more diagrams and flow charts in her lessons, while if a student is more hands-on, she might use more interactive or problem-solving exercises .

In her spare time, she loves to draw sketches, cook and spend time exploring nature.

Overall, her goal as a tutor is to share her knowledge and expertise in a way that helps learners succeed.

Christian V.

Christian has a Bachelor’s of Commerce Spec. Accounting as well as a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting. He has several years of experience in tutoring both high school and university level business courses. Outside of Christian’s work at a Big 4 accounting firm, Christian enjoys spending time playing hockey, fishing and cooking.
