Sara D.

Sara is an experienced, certified Core French teacher, with qualifications to teach students in the Junior and Intermediate divisions. She earned her Bachelor of Education degree from Brock University, and has a certified teachable in French. Sara is currently working as an Elementary Core French teacher, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her passion for this language with all her students. Sara completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Toronto, with focuses on English Literature, French, and Media Studies. Sara has an abundance of experience working with Junior and Intermediate students to help them explore and progress their new learning. Sara believes that the best and most effective learning environment for students is welcoming, encourages lots and lots of questions, and prizes students for taking risks. She is a passionate and caring educator who is eager to create a learning experience tailored to meet the needs of any student.

BRYCE R.

Bryce Rodrigues specializes in tailoring curriculum and remedial teaching across diverse age groups. Holding a BA in Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of South Africa, Bryce brings deep understanding and compassion into his teaching methods. His role at Choice School for Gifted Children showcases his ability to design and implement innovative educational programs that cater to the unique needs of each learner. With extensive experience from teaching in South Korea to remedial coordination in South Africa, Bryce has demonstrated a consistent commitment to enhancing student performance and fostering an inclusive learning environment. His expertise extends to creating engaging content, managing classroom dynamics, and mentoring educators, establishing him as a dedicated advocate for student success and educational excellence.

KERRY-ANN B.

Kerry-Ann is a certified teacher with over 18 years teaching experience. She has a BA Hons. in Language Arts, with a specialist in both Special Education & Sociology and additional qualifications in Teaching English Language Learners.

Beverly Y.

Beverly graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Harvey Mudd College and an Master’s of Education from Boston University.

She is a Certified Teacher who has worked with elementary and middle school students in Taiwan, Japan, and the United States.

Beverly’s diverse teaching experience has shown her that building relationships with students is the most important step in meeting their educational needs.

She believes every student is a “math person” and prioritizes developing number sense and critical thinking during her sessions. Beverly is excited to help students find learning strategies that work for them and encourage their curiosity about math.

In her spare time, Beverly enjoys hiking through autumn landscapes, solving jigsaw puzzles, and pondering why students have contentious arguments over whether a hotdog is a sandwich. (She’s inclined to say, “Yes,” per the Merriam-Webster definition.)

JACLYN M.

Jaclyn is an Ontario and British Columbia certified teacher. She received her Bachelor of Education in 2021 following her undergraduate degree in psychology. After teaching grades 1-8 in Ontario for the past two years she is now enjoying her third year of teaching and her first year as part of the Vancouver School Board.

Jaclyn also has over three years of tutoring experience including a diverse range of students and subject areas. Jaclyn prides herself on really getting to know her learners. When tutoring she creates individualized, engaging and hands-on educational opportunities catered to the learning styles of each learner she works with.

Jaclyn is an easy-going, patient and reliable individual. In her free time she enjoys reading, board games, watching sports and any activity outdoors.

Elyse is a dedicated educator with teaching certificates from Ontario and British Columbia. She completed her Teachers College degree at Western University and her Undergraduate Studies at Toronto Metropolitan University. With four years of teaching experience and over a decade in kid-centered establishments, Elyse creates engaging learning environments tailored to each student’s needs. In September 2021, she moved to Vancouver for new opportunities. Elyse’s dedication to educational excellence inspires her students, unlocking their potential. Gabriela is a graduate from the Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto – OISE, in the primary/junior/intermediate divisions. She holds a certification as an Early Childhood Educator. Gabriela is also fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish. Gabriela has experience teaching all subject areas and has volunteered in elementary school classrooms. During her time at the University of Toronto, she focused her research on different types of supports that can be provided for students with ADHD, within the school system. As such, she understands that students have different needs, and as teachers, their primary job is to support students’ individual learning needs. She believes students have an extensive range of abilities and are capable of achieving anything and everything they put their minds on, with the correct guidance and support. In her spare time, Gabriela enjoys being around nature, hiking, running, training and spending time with family and friends.
