Estelle S.
Estelle Saroukian is currently pursuing dual majors in Sociology and Law and Society at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. With a strong academic foundation, Estelle has been consistently recognized for her dedication and performance, achieving Honour Roll status during her high school years at both Virtual High School and St. Georges School of Montreal.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Estelle has an impressive background in athletics, having competed as a swimmer for over eight years. Her competitive swimming career has instilled in her the values of punctuality, efficiency, and a strong work ethic, which she applies to all aspects of her life. Beyond sports, Estelle has honed her skills through various internships, including her role as a Leasing Administrator for SHL Management, where she developed her organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
Estelle is also committed to giving back to the community, having volunteered at senior care homes, the SPCA, and Moisson Montréal. Her diverse experiences have shaped her into a dependable, tech-savvy, and creative individual who is eager to use her expertise in both academia and future professional endeavors.
KATE F.
Kate is an Ontario College of Teachers-certified primary and junior teacher currently working as an occasional teacher with the Toronto District School Board. They are a recent graduate of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto’s Master of Teaching program. They also hold a BA in political science and international development studies from McGill University and a graduate certificate in children’s media from Centennial College. They have supported student learning in various capacities over the past ten years as a classroom educator, an after-school supervisor, a summer camp instructor, a student teacher, and a program volunteer. They believe every learner deserves dedicated instructors who take the time to learn and value their unique strengths and interests.
When Kate isn’t in the classroom or tutoring, you can find them out and about enjoying all the East End has to offer whether it is playing tennis or hockey, grabbing some dinner ingredients at the Evergreen’s Famers Market, or reading the latest literary fiction or graphic novel in a park! Kate can’t wait to learn more about your learner’s classroom curiosities in order to develop a tutoring program that is targeted, sequential, and fun!
Keltie B.
Keltie is the owner and Education Director of Prep Academy Tutors of Whistler & Sea to Sky. She is also a tutor that specializes in working with Elementary & Middle School students. Keltie has 20 years of experience in teaching and tutoring in both public and Montessori schools. She’s passionate about supporting young learners in their understanding of foundational academic concepts and skills. Keltie uses interactive activities, games and individualized instruction to help students build confidence and competence in subjects like math, reading, and science. She strives to make learning engaging and accessible through a tailored approach that matches the child’s unique needs and learning style, fostering academic growth while building a unique friendship with her wonderful students.
JACQUELINE D.
Jacqueline has a Graduate Diploma in Education and has 11 years of experience in education. She is an Ontario and UK certified teacher with expertise and success in Toronto’s model schools. Jacqueline has worked in Special Education with knowledge of direct instruction programs like Reading Mastery and Visualizing and Verbalizing, as well as phonics instruction programs such as UFLI. Jacqueline has taught Kindergarten to Grade 6 and is currently working as a Kindergarten teacher. Jacqueline is driven and committed to cultivating an equitable, inclusive and safe learning environment that supports all learners.
NAWI M. V.
Nawi has been working with children of all ages and abilities for many years, in classroom settings and one-on-one. Currently, he is a Teacher Candidate at OISE in the Primary/Junior Program. He has a BA in English and History from the University of Toronto, which makes him confident in tutoring Intermediate and Senior students in those subjects. He is fluent in Spanish, speaks intermediate French, and has worked in schools in Canada, Guatemala, and the UK. His love of language, working with children, and his ability to build strong relationships led him to teaching. Working with children of various abilities has helped Nawi develop a patient and open teaching approach that is tailored to his students’ individual needs. Nawi can be found biking and running through the city, at the TIFF Lightbox, and on the hunt for the best street food.
Anita M. M.
Anita has always loved to teach—whether it was multiplication tables at the kitchen table with her younger brothers or helping her friends study for History exams, she has many fond memories of supporting others in their academics. Anita has recently graduated from a Marketing Management certificate at Humber, and has an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in English and Media Studies under her belt. She is dedicated to providing a high-quality, collaborative tutoring experience to her students, ensuring that her teaching style adapts to their unique needs. Anita’s specialties include English literature/literacy, college essay prep, humanities, and social science.
When she isn’t working, you can find Anita cooking up a storm in her kitchen or obsessing over her newest craft (air-dry clay at present). She loves to learn new things, and this passion is what drives her to inspire the same love for learning within her students.
TRACY L.
Tracy graduated from Mount Royal University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Education and a minor in General Science. Throughout her studies, she gained extensive experience working with children with various backgrounds, learning styles, and needs. Tracy has expertise in whole-group instruction and one-on-one support, both inside and outside the classroom. Passionate about nurturing a growth mindset, she works hard to build students’ confidence and enthusiasm for learning. Her teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in a holistic approach, as she strives to understand each student’s unique needs to craft engaging and personalized learning activities. Tracy also takes great pride in building meaningful, trusting relationships with her students and their families so that they may reach their academic goals.
Outside of teaching and tutoring, Tracy loves traveling, playing basketball/volleyball, eating new foods, and spending quality time with friends and family!
Madison M.
Madison is a student at York University’s Glendon campus pursuing her degree in education. Being enrolled in York’s Concurrent Education program, Madison has completed a Bachelor’s of Art in French studies and is currently completing her Bachelor’s of Education. With a passion for the French language, Madison is an aspiring French teacher. In order to immerse herself in the French language and further develop her proficiency, she has completed two immersion programs through the Canadian governments Explore program. Through these programs at the University of Sainte-Anne in Nova Scotia and the University of Laval in Québec, Madison was not only able to enrich her language but also learn more about different cultures. Madison has an interest in working with children and aims to teach French at the primary level. Throughout the past four years, Madison has been tutoring for many different families in her neighbourhood. She has spent many of her summers working full-time with French families, helping their children keep up with their learning. Through her time tutoring, she has learned how to work effectively with children and adjust her teaching strategies depending on each child’s needs.
Madison spends her free time staying active through hikes and dedicating time in her day to the outdoors. She enjoys cooking as well as baking and loves learning new recipes.
ALESSIA V.
Alessia is a dedicated Ontario Certified Teacher with a deep passion for fostering children’s growth and learning. Raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Alessia pursued her academic journey with a strong focus on early childhood education. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Development with Applied Sciences, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University, where she developed her skills and deepened her enthusiasm for teaching. Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom. During the summer months, Alessia engages in educational camps and hands-on activities that emphasize STEM, science, and problem-solving skills, ensuring that children have enriching learning experiences. In her spare time, she has tutored students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, providing support in subjects including language arts, mathematics, science, reading, writing, history, and social sciences. Alessia believes in the transformative power of education and is dedicated to inspiring and guiding her students to achieve their full potential. MONICA F.
Monica is a teacher candidate pursuing a Master of Teaching at OISE (University of Toronto) in the Primary/Junior stream. She has over a decade of volunteer and work experience in education, from leading a Saturday school program in Vientiane, Laos as a high school student to teaching English and World Religions in a literacy centre in Kampala, Uganda. More recently, Monica has worked at a private daycare and completed teaching placements with JK/SK and 4/5 classes at TDSB schools. Monica is passionate about environmental education and supporting students’ individual needs and interests in multicultural learning contexts. In her spare time, she loves baking and exploring Toronto’s ravines and trails.
