LAURA B.

Laura recently graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts in French. She is now in the process of becoming an Ontario Certified Junior/Intermediate Teacher through OISE’s (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education) Master of Teaching program at the University of Toronto. Laura discovered her fondness for teaching when she was asked to volunteer at a summer camp for English Language Learners when she was only in high school. Ever since, she has dedicated her professional career to teaching language through its many facets, whether it be English, French, or linguistic foundations in general. Through her numerous experiences teaching language to children ranging anywhere from 6 to 18 years old, Laura has fostered learning environments where her students are encouraged to be themselves and make mistakes. She is cognizant of the vulnerability that comes with tutoring, and she is confident in her ability to create a space that allows children to flourish. Aside from her academic and professional endeavours, Laura enjoys reading novels and trying all sorts of coffees and teas.

 

MOLLY P.

Molly is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) currently teaching at an independent IB school in Toronto. She graduated from Queen’s University’s Concurrent Education program with qualifications in the Primary/Junior Division. Additionally, she has experience working with children and youth in both daycare and outdoor education settings. She has even worked as an au pair in the Netherlands!

As an educator, she is passionate about inquiry-based learning, as well as applying a culturally responsive approach to her teaching. Molly’s goal is to create meaningful learning experiences by centering her students’ voice, choice, and ownership as pillars of their learning. As a lifelong learner, Molly is currently focused on completing a course by the International Dyslexia Association, so that she can help improve her students’ phonics skills and further develop their love of reading.

Molly loves getting outside and exploring nature. On the weekends she loves to go on long walks while listening to a good podcast! She is also quite fond of her foster kitty Fred, who is always there to give a great cuddle. As an avid reader, Molly welcomes any and all book recommendations sent her way!

 

Camilia D.

Camilia is a professional and passionate tutor with over 6 years of experience teaching and tutoring. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology, and is pursing her Doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine. Camilia is a certified ESL instructor, and has worked with students at a variety of grade and ability levels. Camilia loves teaching, learning, art, music, cooking and travelling. On her free time she takes photographs and runs outside 🙂

Christopher O.

Chris is a fun, hardworking, tutor with many years of experience working both as freelance tutor and in a center. He comes from a Math background taking all the academic levels in high school as well as Studying at York University. He specializes in all grades of Math from 1-12, as well as working with all learning difficulties.

With years of experience, he has learned a simple and easy way for kids to understand difficult concepts and makes it enjoyable. Understanding Math can be challenging, Chris likes to help make it seem easy and simple for all to understand.

Many of Chris’ passions are Music, Basketball, Football, Cooking, and Anime! One of the key strengths he possesses is patience. Math can be overwhelming and being patient with students learning concepts, makes an excellent tutor. Chris believes in building confidence with students helps them succeed and want to learn more. He is very passionate about teaching and loves helping others feel accomplished and ready for all problems!

Julia G.

Julia is a teacher candidate at York University’s concurrent education program. She aims to teach the Intermediate/Senior age groups when she graduates from university. She completed her undergrad at York University with a major in theatre and a minor in history. Julia has gained most of her teaching experience through working with different age groups at daycares and previous tutoring opportunities. Prior to university, Julia has tutored different subject matters including english, geography, history, and the arts.

Aside from her passion for teaching, Julia has worked as an assistant manager at a retail store and volunteered with drama camps over multiple summers. Julia used to take dance and singing lessons recreationally throughout her childhood. She also enjoys music and movies that she can share with others. Julia is very passionate when working with students and aims for each student to leave working with her to enjoy at least one element of what they have learned together.

 

NADIA S.

Nadia was a Montessori teacher (AMI trained) for over 35 years. She taught at the Casa level as well as Grade 1-2. She spent the last 8 years teaching Core French from the Casa level to Grade 3 at a local private school. Nadia is trained in the Orton-Gillingham Methodology and is currently tutoring students with this approach. She is passionate about Literacy and enjoys seeing the reading success of her students. Nadia also tutors adult Japanese ESL students online in Business English.

Her love of travel had her teaching ESL in Argentina and her students ranged from 10 to 70 years young! She spends time in Cuba with friends when time and resources permit. Nadia speaks French, Italian and some Spanish. When not tutoring, she enjoys spending time with her family and her dog. Gardening, hiking and reading are her favourite pastimes.

Natalie T.

Natalie is obtaining her Bachelor of Education degree at Laurier University. She holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership. Natalie is trained in the science of reading and early literacy intervention. Natalie has a love for robotics, coding, LEGO, and Taylor Swift. She looks forward to working with students to help them learn and grow!

 

Brian N.

Brian N. is a current teacher at Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute and Baccalaureate School (IB Program) in Kitchener, Ontario. He currently teaches grade 9, 10 and 12 math at the school, but has tutored and is comfortable with all Ontario mathematics content (JK- Calculus, IB and beyond!). His qualifications are as follows: Primary, Junior, Intermediate Senior Division Teachable, as well as Intermediate Mathematics and History, as well as Senior qualifications in Music. He is eager to come along side the PAT team and help students.

Sandra L.

Sandra is a seasoned teacher with over 10 years of experience in education across multiple countries, including South Korea, Australia, Kuwait, and most recently, Qatar where she taught grade two homeroom. With a Masters in Multidisciplinary Studies specialized in Special Needs, a Graduate Diploma of Education, and OCT qualification, Sandra is adept at supporting students ranging from JK to grade 6. Her expertise extends to literacy (reading, writing, phonics), general mathematics, and sciences. Passionate about social-emotional learning, Sandra prioritizes creating a nurturing environment where students are empowered to reach their full potential. With a diverse background working with students of varying academic and social needs, Sandra’s adaptable teaching approach addresses gaps in both academic and social-emotional development, ensuring a holistic learning experience.

 

ANNA E.

Anna received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Queen’s University in 2023 and is a teacher candidate in the Master of Teaching Program at OISE at the University of Toronto. She has extensive experience working with children including acting as a counsellor at various day camps. During her time at Queen’s, Anna served as the co-chair of Extra Awesome, a club which focuses on providing social and life skill support to youth in the community with disabilities.

Anna first discovered her love of teaching when she worked as a ski instructor in high school for three seasons with children ages 4-11, allowing her to combine her passion for the outdoors with working alongside others. She has completed placements in the TDSB and in Canadian Accredited Independent Schools. Moreover, Anna is a graduate of the International Baccalaureate and is familiar with both the PYP and MYP curriculums. Anna believes in teaching the whole child and strives to make the classroom an inclusive, engaging, and supportive space for all types of learners.
