Hello! I’m Rocchetta, a retired Ontario Certified Elementary Teacher with over 25 years of experience in teaching and tutoring. Specializing in grades 1 to 6, I am passionate about fostering a love for reading and lifelong learning in my students. I believe that effective communication, both verbal and written, is key to student success.
Teamwork is at the heart of my approach; I work closely with parents and teachers to ensure the best outcomes for each child. When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy travelling, reading, and staying active with Zumba. I look forward to the opportunity to support your child’s educational journey.
MARZIA H.
Marzia is currently completing her undergraduate Honours degree in Cellular Molecular Microbial Biology with a minor in Psychology at the University of Calgary. Marzia has been tutoring young students for over 8 years, developing her own unique strategies and best practices along the way. Marzia’s passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education extends beyond tutoring. She has been working with Minds in Motion to deliver hands-on STEM concepts to groups of students from grades 1- 9 through summer camps, kid’s clubs, and classroom workshops. Marzia focuses on fostering excitement about the intricate world of STEM, creating an inclusive environment, and sparking curiosity in young minds.
Having worked extensively with students across different age groups and academic levels, Marzia is adept at tailoring lessons to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student. She believes in creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel empowered to reach their full potential. Marzia is known for her patient and encouraging approach and is skilled at building strong, positive relationships with students and parents alike.
In addition to Marzia’s passion for knowledge through reading and watching various genres of documentaries, she enjoys painting as a way to express creativity and relax. Marzia often incorporates random bits of obscure knowledge into her teaching, relating to her students, making learning more engaging and enjoyable!
Kendall M.
Kendall is an experienced and committed educator. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from the University of Delaware. Kendall has worked closely to support students with diverse learning needs at the elementary level. She currently works as a special education teacher at a K-5 Charter School. Kendall has a passion for helping students reach their full potential, especially in the area of reading development. She believes in using research based, multi-sensory intervention programs that target students’ unique needs. She looks forward to the opportunity to work with your family and make a positive impact on your child’s learning journey.
Kenedy O.
Kenedy graduated at the top of her class from the University of British Columbia, and is currently completing her Master’s of Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto. Kenedy has vast experience tutoring children aged 6-10 in reading and writing. She has also worked extensively as a behaviour interventionist, informed by applied behaviour analysis theory, with children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Kenedy has a passion for integrating education and play to ensure learners have an engaging and fulfilling session that allows them to achieve their goals. She strives to ensure each activity is meaningful and specific to her client’s needs. Kenedy draws on her creativity to implement various teaching styles to accommodate diverse learning styles and create a safe environment.
When she is not working, Kenedy likes to spend her free time crocheting, cooking, and exploring the city as she is new to Toronto!
CLAIRE R.
Claire has a BA with a French literature major from U of Calgary and is in her last year of the BEd program at St Mary’s University. She is a New Brunswick native who moved to Calgary when she was 3 and learned English at school. She has taught numerous adults in Continuing Education at Mount Royal College and in the Corporate sector and is returning to her first love, teaching children. She has a passion for reading and writing as well as studying, in her spare time, history, governments, and citizenship. By her bedside you’ll currently find books by Charles Dickens, Thomas Sowell, a random book on the American revolution (it’s better than it sounds) and her favorite dog Tessa. Her husband and 2 boys are into hockey, so obviously, the TV is always on during Stanley Cup finals.
Kate E.
Katherine is passionate about education and is committed to the success of her students. Katherine is a Registered Early Childhood Educator, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration on Autism Spectrum Disorder and a Masters of Science in Elementary Education. Katherine has taken on multiple roles in education over the past decade at a private Montessori school in Toronto and both the York and Durham Region school boards. Katherine has been focused on inclusion and working with children who have special needs in her community since 2008. Katherine is focused on creating learning opportunities that are based on the individual and developmental needs of her students. In her spare time, Katherine loves to connect with her children while hiking in some of their local trails.
MADELINE H.
Madeline has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education specializing in early childhood education (K-3).
Madeline has teaching experience with a variety of grades from kindergarten to grade 9. She has spent the last 2 years as a grade 1/2 elementary generalist.
She is looking forward to working one-on-one with students and being a part of their learning success.
Madeline is a firm believer in a student focused approach that considers and adapts to varying student’s needs. She is skilled at determining the best way to engage and motivate her students while also assisting them in developing their confidence as learners.
Neha N.
Neha is currently a teacher candidate with the Master’s of Teaching program at the University of Toronto. She recently moved to Canada, having completed her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Chapman University in California. After graduating, Neha started working as a tutor at an adolescent rehabilitation centre, where she discovered her love for teaching. She delighted in sharing her love of science with young people, organizing lab activities and educational games with the students while helping them keep up with their regular schoolwork. Working at the rehab, Neha learned the importance of rapport: she approaches each individual with compassion, humour, and the impel to not just teach, but also learn about the unique people under her care.
Neha has previously tutored in math, English, and science, teaching students from grades 2 to 12. Currently she is in the intermediate/senior cohort of her program, specializing in general science and biology. Neha also has experience tutoring in Dubai, where she attended high school and completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma program. While she enjoyed the warm weather of Southern California and the Gulf, Neha fell in love with the Canadian winter. In her free time she takes pleasure in admiring and appreciating nature, where she undeniably finds much of her inspiration for teaching about the natural world.
Yin L.
Yin is a dedicated and experienced educator with over 13 years of classroom teaching experience. With a strong foundation in the Science of Reading, Yin has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fostering literacy and academic growth in students.
Yin holds a Master of Education in Leadership and Policy from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), further enhancing her expertise in educational strategies. Additionally, Yin has pursued a range of additional teaching qualifications, including Special Education, Part 1, Writing, Part 1, Librarianship, Part 2, English as a Second Language, Part 1, Reading, Specialist, and Mathematics Specialist. These qualifications emphasizes her versatility and dedication to meeting the diverse needs of students.
Mojgan S.
Mojgan is a certified teacher who has been working in Education for the past 19 years with Toronto District School Board where she taught different grades from Kindergarten to grade 7, including ISP ( Primary and Junior). Mojgan loves to include different rich texts which are culturally relevant to practice to celebrate diversity and inclusivity. Mojgan is fluent in Farsi.
She is a life long learner who loves to promote success for individuals through different strategies and hands on activities. Her additional qualifications includes; intermediate Math. Specialist in special education and Integration of Technology, and library, which will help her in creating different style of teaching and assessment .
Besides teaching, Mojgan likes to read, walk and do workouts.
